Baymont by Wyndham Peoria

The room was clean and well appointed. The motel advertises a free shuttle with a 3 day notice. When I arrived, I called the motel and the clerk said the shuttle had been there an hour and came back. It was 2 hours till I was picked up by the janitor in his car. He was very kind. Going back, I almost missed my plane as the shuttle would not start and it had to be serviced. The shuttle service gets a F!

Getting to the hotel was unorthodox, going through the nearby mall parking lot to reach the hotel, not necessarily their fault but it's just a lot of winding turns to reach it from the interstate exit. Television connection wasn't stable due to the bandwidth of the hotel. Shower head wasn't present in the shower, I addressed the issue to the staff at the end of the stay though I have no idea if the problem has been solved, much like the closed pool which was murky.

Overall a decent place to stay for the price. The staff were hardworking and very nice. The rooms were clean and the facilities, overall, were clean and functional (just old and dated). It is within the walking distance to the mall and nearby food places, however, the road you’d have to walk on does not seem safe (no side walk, many turns with blind spots for cars). The shuttle for the airport is not 24 hrs. Confirm with front desk about availability ahead of time.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Upon checking out the elevator was out of service. We had to walk down two flights is stairs from second floor. One of the workers there walked us to the stairs but didn’t offer to help with all our bags. Breakfast was ok. The only complaint was the elevator being out of service.

Absolute disaster. An elevator thats last safety insepction was expired last November. Rooms dirty, sjeets looked like they were slept on. Toe nails in the carpet. Vending and ice machines not working. Locks and doors not functioning. Toilest leaking every time they are flushed. Absolutely horrible.

very outdated in need of a major updates the elevator was broken. The fitness center was atrocious. I haven’t seen those kind of dumbbells since the 80s , all 2 of them. All 3 of the cardio equipment pieces had some kind of malfunction.

Parking was good

The elevator safety inspection was expired. There was no hot water the first night. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The heater/ac made a horrible racket every time it turned on, waking everyone. There was a hard, crusty stain on the carpet.

It’s quiet the bed was nice, a little dated, but it was clean. The hot water was hot and endless. My air conditioner was a little noisy and the TV which ran off Wi-Fi was a little spotty. The staff was nice and very accommodating. But my biggest disappointment was the pool was being redone at the time, and I had searched specifically for a place with a pool.

The whole hotel was packed it was just a hang out for locals for the fourth of July it was just full of kids and adults partying and bbqing I couldn't even get in the pool it was packed 😭 when the fire works were over the hotel was empty... I asked staff if I could swim after everone left since I didn't get a chance and I was told no a total waste of money I travel just to swim and relax. It was a complete disappointment 😞 I deserve a refund

Room had a wet odor to it. Carpets weren’t clean. Floor by the heater & by bathroom was squishy like they were rotted out. Was disappointed in condition of room. Definitely not worth the price of the room. Didn’t have another choice to go to another hotel or we would have.

In town for baseball, didn’t have super high expectations just needed a decent room for sleeping. Exterior was pretty run down, over grown weeds,but that’s the outside, near a highway, so didn’t think too much into it. The lobby is very dated, odd smell, musty, proceed to check in,most rooms are outside access, like a motel, didn’t realize that at booking. The “suite” which was 2 attached rooms, was an entrance from inside. The room was newly updated, but smelled awful. Dirty, musty, wet old carpet maybe smell. What is more shocking is that when we were checking in a women at the desk ran up to check that it was ready for us to check in, how she thought the smell was okay is shocking. Before we even sat our bags down another family we had checked in with called and said they went to pull back drapes in their room and they was a COCKROACH on the window ledge, then saw another one on the wall. We ran out of our rooms. The front desk checked us out, and went to check rooms to be sure they were unused, which they were.The woman also wanted to see the “bugs” of course when she went back she didn’t see them. But her reaction was of irritation and not shock or sincerity in apologizing, which gave us the feeling that they new this was an issue there, and just felt uncomfortable that we saw their problem. 3 families left, not having anywhere else booked, on a mostly all booked weekend but would all rather sleeping in their cars then sleeping there.If there’s 1 there are more!

The room was very dairy and they have it a lot ants

There were stains all over the beds, and ants all over the tables in the morning. Definitely shouldve researched this place a bit more before i made this decision

Front staff was nice and friendly. Rooms, hallways, and exterior were run down. More of a motel than hotel. Rooms smelled and I could not stomach staying a second night. I would not recommend.

The food was really good. The condition of the room was below average. When I first walked in, it smelled “wet” like a smelly water smell. The fridge wasn’t cleaned out that well. And the bathtub was pretty bad. But I guess you get what you pay for. The perks were that everything was pretty tidy aside from the tub. I definitely recommend this hotel as a last resort type of stay, but at least I didn’t catch bedbugs.

Our room had bedbugs and a terrible odor. We quietly went to the front desk to tell them. They apologized and moved us. That room smelled a bit better but the door was too hard for me to open and close. Thank goodness my husband was with me. The shower didn’t drain. The tub was still full in the morning so I stuck my hand in the water and wiggled the drain stopper up and down, that did the trick. Our room was mostly clean. They need to pay attention to where the walls meet the floor and around the nightstand. Since our door was broken, we couldn’t use the deadbolt. The hallway was super dirty, the doors look like they were bought at different places, they didn’t all match each other. Our stay was quiet, I never felt unsafe albeit a little leery we couldn’t deadbolt the door. The staff was super sweet and wanted to refund our stay but, since we booked through a third party, they couldn’t. We didn’t try the breakfast nor the pool.

It smells terrible like old pee. There was hair all over the bathroom and the carpet was dirty.

The room SMELLED bad, bad, bad. It was overpowering. We had to keep the door open just to stay in the room. It also appeared someone had poured the same smelly liquid into the heater. Air conditioning unit. So you couldn't put the fan on to circulate the overpowering smell. Additionally, broken towel bar, dirty counters, dirty corners

Very good for a budget option. My room was clean, comfortable with new carpeting and modern decor. The location is weird and off the beaten path, on a street that branches off from the mall. The mall is walkable, but it’s small with few dining options. A great place if you have or are renting a car because it’s close to the highway. Some chain restaurants are short driving distance.

I booked a king suite with a pull out sofa as the 2nd bed. We picked this hotel because it said they had a open pool (during February) at check in they said pool was outdoor only. 1st room- TVs were broken , they moved us. 2nd room smelled SO bad of smoke/weed. 3rd room was only/last option. Room had a broken futon instead of a pull out couch. It increasingly smelled worse and worse as the night went on - the smell of weed was coming in through the air vents. TV was broken, fridge and microwave were missing from room, shower handle was broken, tub wouldn’t drain, there were human hairs on the shower walls. Guests above us were SO loud all night. Front desk staff was nice- but said problems needed to be taken up with hotels.com since we booked with the website and not with them directly. Drywall/ceiling had broken/wet sagging areas in each room.

I had to go out and ask him a 2nd time to come look at it. Next, the bed felt like we were sleeping on a slab of concrete. Lastly, i am 6'4 and the shower head is only 5'6 from the tub floor. I took a shower on my knees.

Looks like they made an attempt to update the hotel, but it's still very much second rate at best. Toilet in room ran a lot and created a puddle of water in front of the shower. Bed was rock hard. I will try another hotel next time I'm in Peoria.

The room was fairly nice and clean but the WiFi wasn’t great and the room above me was very noisy.

Hotel gave a sketchy vibe the minute we got there: 3rd floor hallway was dark and dingy, elevator sounded unsafe, property looked run down. Came back from an event at 11 p.m. to overwhelming smell of weed, and loud, obnoxious guests. From 11p.m. to 5 a.m., there was weed smell, yelling, slamming doors, honking cars, and running in halls. Manager asked them to quiet down, or cops called, other guests yelling at tgem to shut the f-up, didn't matter. Doors didn't shut properly, didn't feel safe at all. Desk staff did seem friendly, room was ok but heater was loud.

Hotel was ok. Room was extremely small but in ok condition. Problem was multiple people sitting in there cars after dark smoking pot. You could smell it as soon as you opened the hotel door. Then we noticed the multiple cars with people just sitting in the cars with smoke rolling out the windows.

Main issue is the mattresses are all way worn out and we had 4 bed suite and all 4 beds are sunken in in middle of mattress . We all woke up with sore backs and didn’t sleep well .

Very friendly staff. Room next door was noisy from 1030pm til 130am when management kicked them out and we got about 4 hours sleep.

Wouldn’t recommend staying at this run down property. They do ask for a $200 cleaning/smoking deposit that Expedia does not mention. Seemed like they did try to update property. but it’s all half ass work. WiFi did not work. Also the tv image wasn’t great also.

Overall everything from the staff to the hotel property and service was excellent!

I initially had a problem with the lock on my first room but the staff at the front desk took care of me immediately and the stay was fine otherwise. It wasn't the fanciest of hotels but for the price, I would stay here again.

The receptionist was very rude. When telling us about the deposit she made a comment about us have a party. Very unprofessional. She was just not a very nice person.

Peter is my guy he does a wonderful job checking you in Nice welcoming Make sure you're comfortable inside your room I've stated this place numerous times so I'm somewhat comfortable with it but that one employee goes above and beyond

I have always found this location (Peoria, IL) to be extremely friendly. They are very welcoming. Their hotel is very clean ... And I can't wait for warm weather so I can enjoy the beautiful pool! The breakfast buffer is very well stocked and professionally cared for. All-in-all, I give tthe Baymont a 10/10 rating!

The pictures make the place look nice. However if you need the use of the shuttle just dont bother. i called 3 times prior to my visit to see if the shuttle was available for the hours i needed to and from the airport. Every time someone told me they would have to check and call me back. Noone called me so i took an uber to the hotel from the airport. When i got there they said " oh we have a shuttle getting you" But noone ever confirmed wiht me. When leaving same thing i came to the office and the office person was never told someone would be taking me. luckily they HAD called an uber but what poor communication. The bathrooms were pretty old. The "Breakfast" just seemed very poor

When I finally arrived at the hotel, they had marked it as a "no show". After speaking with the managers each time I got bumped from a flight, was reassured 3 different times that they would go ahead and hold the room/reservation and for me to come. Only to learn 17hours after being told they would hold it,,, they didn't and charged me anyways. I will never book that property again,

Customer service is not very friendly front desk agents do not listen when you're talking they just try to shoot you away for they have very smart remarks to your comments or making conversation. When you try to correct them they don't feel wrong even when they find out they wrong they still don't apologize not all of them but majority of them are rude

It’s location is nice.

We arrived to check in at 5p to bring our belongings before heading to an event. Immediately things were uncomfortable and stirred a lot of anxiety within myself. Random locks on doors, service areas, and miscellaneous repairs being partly done. We left shortly after checking in. When we returned at 11p the amount of traffic in the parking lot, hallways, balcony area created a very unsafe feeling and we left and chose not to stay overnight. Multiple groups of underage kids partying including smoking blunts in hallways, balcony areas, cluttering access to our room. Very loud hollering, arguing, and in and out of the entire area. We left as soon as we could.

You get what you pay for. The king bed was comfortable enough and the breakfast OK but the WiFi did not work in my room, the carpet was coming up at the entrance to the bath, there was exterior construction in front of my room but they still rented it. The location is off a side road behind a mall and your GPS may not lead you to it.

Is very quiet and a mall and different restaurants closed by.

Not really a hotel more of a Motel Very Clean but in a BAD neighborhood People fighting all night outside my room didn’t feel safe at all

The parking lot was being used as a party zone. There was noise going on all night. The whole place smelled like pot. There needs to be a light over the desk. And I wish there was a coffee pot in the room, especially since I had to walk outside to take the elevator in 12° weather.

Baymont Wyndom in Peoria is a great hotel for this price range. Free shuttle to PIA each way. Attentive staff. Decent breakfast including the Waffle-making machine. The only issue: a former guest must have blasted the volume and damaged the cable TV monitor, so it sounded like a drive-in movie speaker, but the maintenance guy, Scott, PROMPTLY replaced it with a larger, 4k monitor. The family, Ravi and his wife (?), were friendly and helpful. The pool was not crowded or sketchy as a few reviews claimed. In fact, everything about my stay was pleasant, and I plan to return there when I'm visiting friends in Peoria again! (This was my 3rd stay here, btw.)

They had roaches the blankets had blood on them the restroom was dirty the breakfast was nasty the cereal was old they dont have milk for the cereal. Definitely need to clean the room better.

First room the ceiling in the bathroom was collapsing. Second room hot, no shower curtain, we asked never got one, no breakfast available even though said had one no ice no housekeeping would never stay here again

The hallways, elevator were filthy. The room was clean enough. The refrigerator wasnt very cold. The complnentary breakfast was sparce. The muffins tasteless. We were glad to only stay 1 nite.

This location has both outdoor entrances and indoor entrances for their rooms. Not very clear where the entrance to the main lobby was. We got the family suite, and was surprised by the lack of furniture in this place. The only place you were allowed to sit was on a desk chair or your bed. No couch for this suite to make seating more comfortable if you were spending time in the room. They cut out a wall between two rooms — Kind of nice idea, but poorly executed. They took out the refrigerator and microwave from one side of the room, but left it on the other side of the room - at least there were 2 bathrooms. They do not have staff monitoring the breakfast area and when we went down there to eat, it was extremely dirty, with overflowing garbage cans. We were there for a softball tournament and a week and a half before the reservation, I found out that we did not need a Saturday night stay. I called the hotel to adjust it and was told that I could not make any changes to the reservation without penalty. I also tried calling Hotels.com and they were unsuccessful in speaking with the hotel to get the reservation adjusted by one night. There was police activity in the area on Friday night. Children being allowed to run up and down the hallways, no parental or management supervision. We had family staying at the Marriott across the way, and people from our hotel were causing a disturbance at the Marriott to the point to where police were called. Won’t stay again.
