The Yankee Inn

We came to shred the gnar at the Bousquet ski area down the block. This property is extremely convenient for such an endeavor. Check in was easy. There was exquisite artwork depicting the authentic Berkshire skiing experience in the room. The breakfast was radical. Eggs and sausages and muffins and pastries and excellent coffee. Only issue was that upon arrival we learned that the hot tub and pool were closed for renovations. This was quite unfortunate as we were excited to take some laps in the pool and rejuvenate our tired bodies in the hot tub after a day of shredding so much gnar.

Only issue we had was some weird brown foam in the hot tub and the construction crew working in the unit above us.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. We liked the balcony with the slider door. My husband found the bed to be a little firm for his liking, but I didn’t mind it. The room contained a microwave and fridge. Hotel had water, coffee and tea available throughout the day. The pool and hot tub were nice! The hotel gym was under construction so we were unable to use that. The small hotel bar was great and Carl was very personable! The complimentary breakfast has a variety of foods (eggs, bacon, waffles, cereals, yogurt) and was stocked well. Overall, great stay!

The description of the property is very miss leading. They also say they have a lounge and bar but don’t tell you it’s only open on Friday and Saturday

86 degree outdoor pool , what else can I say , we were so happy, But it closes at 8:30 ,grow some cahoonas and keep it open till 9:30 or 10:00 get some outdoor low voltage landscape lighting if you have too.

Wonderful 6 day stay. Great to have outdoor and indoor pools and sauna- long hours. Excellent staff- desk clerks, cleaning and breakfast. Easy parking. Comfortable accessible room just missing toilet bars. Very good breakfast. Great central location

Love the large heated swimming pool and hot tub

The room was spotless the front desk staff was friendly, courteous and helpful.Tue breakfast staff were kind and the meal was delicious.

We thought this was going to be a little more spacious but it wasn't. Pictures are misleading. After we checked in we noticed some ants. Then they kept coming. We had to have killed over two dozen of them. Either the room wasn't mopped properly or there's an infestation. Told the front desk about it and she kinda just shrugged it off and didn't even try to make any apologies or remedy our disappointment. My family will stay away next time.

I honestly just spent the night as part of a longer road-trip, but I found it quiet and comfortable, and the room was very clean when I arrived. Slept well, but unfortunately had to leave before breakfast.

The room was very musty. Didn’t think anyone had been in it for awhile. Room was worn. Furniture was worn. Fixtures were old. Outside stairs needed better lighting. Would not stay here again.

Immaculate room and surrounding areas. Staff was great and the breakfast was nicer than any free hotel breakfast, and frankly, better than a lot of cheap cafes.

The room we had was in the older, detached building. It was dated and should be updated. Cracked tile in bathroom and a musty smell. It was, however clean and had basic amenities. Very good breakfast and omelet station on Sunday. The location is excellent for all small towns in area. The staff were pleasant.

Loved this room. The tub with jets was so relaxing. The fireplace was so beautiful. We had our own exit to the ground floor porch. The bed was a little hard for my taste but it was big and luxurious.

The door leading to the elevator slammed each time someone walked through it. Our room was next to the door. Therefore we heard everyone going to and from their rooms. Annoying. Especially in the morning on the weekend.

The room was very nice, the beds were comfortable, and it had a additional doorway out to a nice little balcony out front of the room. Breakfast was good and of course had the infamous waffle machine which is always nice. The whole area is very nice and felt very safe.

We stayed for a romantic Anniversary Trip. We upgraded to the best room available and a bit caught off guard. All the pictures are real, but we'll call it "selective framing" made it look a bit more upscale than it is. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. They left us a coupon in the room for 2 free drinks at the bar because of the occasion, but we never actually saw the bar while it was open.Still a nice gesture, but we definitely would have used it had we known when. Hot tub was fine the first day, but was not at all hot yesterday! Only slightly warmer than the indoor pool. The sign read 102°, but it honestly couldn't have been above 90°. Internet access was fine one day and spotty the next, but we didnt travel to The Berkshires in the fall to spend our time surfing the internet, so it was fine. Overall, I'd stay here again with the expectations now clearly in my mind.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was great for our plans, staff were lovely and helpful, and the outdoor pool was clean and quiet (in the mornings since it seemed the families with young kids were mostly in the indoor pool). Only complaint is the walls are pretty thin so we heard our neighbors most of the time. This is a small price to pay for an otherwise great stay though and it wouldn’t stop me from returning.

When we first checked in for our week long stay the staff member Michelle we had to deal with was terrible and very rude. We were put in the rooms across the parking lot away from all the amenities. When I asked if we could be moved I was told she could not accommodate people like US, and we could park close to the building to get the things we would need. After several more rude comments from this staff me and my husband went to our room we were put in. It was a very cute small room, however the ceiling around the light in the bathroom was coming down, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all empty. I brought this to the attention of the staff and again received rude comment of being picky. We were moved after 2 days once another staff Lance was made aware of what had happened to us. This did make the rest of our stay much nicer. Was a hassle to have to move coolers and all our stuff after a long day of site seeing but was nice of at least 1 staff attempting to make things right.

First, the TV did not work. I called the front desk. Someone came to fix it and disappeared to get something to help then never returned although we waited a long time. Then the heating/cooling system started to smell like it was burning. A very strong smell so strong that I could not stay in the room. All this happened at 9 in the evening. I called the front desk again but no one came after saying she would come right over. I finally walked over to the front desk and was told to expect that kind of thing given the type of room we had rented. (She then proceeded to say bad things about how Expedia set false expectations when booking rooms and that we should have known that ours was an economy although we certainly did not.) The young lady was alone at the front desk and clearly overwhelmed by her job. She said 12 parties were about to check in although none was there at the point I was. Well after 9:30 PM, she moved us to another “economy\xa0room.” To my mind, in the name of better customer relations, she should have upgraded us given the problems we had had with the room, problems that were not of our making. There were plenty of rooms available. Also, the breakfast was sub-par, even for this level of hotel. I had always thought Wyndham was a decent brand and have stayed in Wyndham hotels before that were fine, but now my perceptions have changed given this unpleasant experience. I probably will not choose a Wyndham hotel again and will share my experience with others.

We were in town for the Naumkeag Winter Lights event. Jennifer greeted us warmly and explained the amenities thoroughly. We had a king room which was clean and comfortable. It was so nice to have real coffee cups and drinking glasses in the room. The breakfast was excellent--lots of hot and cold choices. I wish I had time to visit the pool and hot tub--very inviting! Parking is free and safe. The room price was very reasonable. We will visit again!!

The friendliness and excellent service received from the staff. While we stayed at the Yankee, we expected a delivery from UPS and the staff at the registration ensured that we would be informed as soon as it arrived at the Yankee. There was a delay from UPS and it caused us some stress. The Yankee staff made sure we were kept informed of the delivery. Their concern was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've stayed at the Yankee Inn a number of times, and I'm always very pleased. It is extremely clean and well tended to, even the rooms in older building are fresh and clean. The employees are very friendly, ready to help at every moment. The breakfast is varied and ample and tasty. The indoor pool and hot tub are great, and the outdoor pool is delicious, especially on the kind of bright sunny day I was there. The location is terrific. You can go behind the hotel and sit by a quiet pond, or you can take the exit and be withing a short distance of shopping, quality entertainment such as Tanglewood, and multiple outdoor areas for hiking/walking for any age and ability. The Hancock Shaker Village is less than 15 minutes away and definitely worth a full day's visit. I had two small issues that could be easily addressed: The lighting in my room wasn't great--the bulbs were not very bright and the lamps were kind of ugly, but it's was mostly a matter of taste. And I would very much appreciate a night light in the sink area, as it's very dark, no ambient light, and easy to trip getting to the bathroom at 3 a.m. This could be a big issue for seniors who are a little unsteady.

Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Conveniently located, plenty of parking. The buildings are quite old, and it shows. The bathroom door was a bit crooked and wouldn't stay closed. Some rooms (such as the one we were in) are quite close to a busy street, and the traffic on it can be heard through the night. Ask for a room as far from the street as possible.

The Yankee has a variety of comfortable, spacious, clean rooms to suit the different needs of our various out-of-state family members when returning home for events. The staff are always very accommodating and helpful with any requests we may have. My husband and I now live in Florida, so having access to an indoor pool for swimming year-round is pleasant. We were quite disappointed to note the weekday hot breakfast items consisted of only the same two items every day: scrambled eggs (decent) and brown and serve pre-cooked and microwable "sausage links" that did not agree with several people in our party and no one ate them the rest of the week. Before this became a Wydham "Collection" Property, it was The Yankee Inn, and the hot weekday breakfast was always exemplary. There were different items offered on different days, potatoes, bacon, eggs and real sausage, all of which were freshly cooked not just heated from frozen.

Front desk service varied depending on employee. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool area was clean and sanitary but around closing hours was being used by non hotel guests. Included breakfast is a great perk, but items ran low and an employee was busy making herself a waffle. Some guests were observed placing multiple items in plastic containers and leaving the room. They need signs and better supervision.

Breakfast choices were limited. Scrambled eggs were indedible - rubbery. No choice of yogurt without sugar. Fruit had no taste. Waffle iron partly burned the waffle.

Breakfast was top notch with make your own waffles oatmeal and eggs. Hotel has had a facelift in the past year. Near Tanglewood. Front desk was welcoming. Two thumbs up for value and pricing
