Holiday Inn Austin -Town Lake by IHG

Clean. Pretty simple restaurant, but all you need for a few days. No room service, but they make it up for you downstairs very nicely and you just have to take it up the elevator yourself--no problem. Good parking set up in a very very hard to park area of town. Yes, it's a very old building, but it met our needs, clean and functional in all ways we needed. Only negative was one of the elevators was out, but we never had delays getting up and down to 7th floor.

This hotel is way past its prime. It feels very old and tired. One of the only things in it's favor is that you are not charged for parking. the elevators are all old and continually dirty. The ride up in elevator 2 of the main round tower was noisy and shaky. The garage elevator was very dirty and hot like an oven. The exercise room had very few options for working out. The functional weight machine had broken handles and was missing additional barbells. The dumbell set was incomplete and missing several partner dumbells. The pool was small and just OK. No shade or umbrellas. The pool towels were small and more like hand towels. No complimentary breakfast options and only one large urn of free coffee with no Decaf available. I did not try the breakfast buffet, it was $14 per person. The property itself was trashy and dirty. Overall this hotel was simply old, tired, dirty and worn out. Most likely will not stay again.

The hotel was right next to our kayaking trip on Lady Bird lake. All the staff was very friendly and nice. The hotel was very clean. Darryl our shuttle driver was amazing. Close to 6th st as well. Will definitely stay here next time we are in town.

Nice hotel, but far from downtown. Room has microwave and refrigerator. Also has Free shuttle service to and from the airport.

Stay was fine - location is fantastic and the lake view is lovely, with a reasonable price compared to other, albeit fancier, options in the same general area. The hotel could use a refresh, which I knew. I did not get a steaming hot shower, rather a just-barely warm one, but I survived. That issue was the only frustration with my stay. The hotel has a basic and small outdoor pool and a fairly well-appointed workout center. All in all, a good choice if you aren't super finicky and want a large room, nice view, and good location (with free parking!). Breakfast is not included.

This hotel has several advantages, one of which is free on-site parking. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are consistently clean and comfortable. Additionally, it is conveniently located right next to the trail and close to Rainey Street. The gym is well-equipped for a good workout. I really enjoyed my stay here and will keep coming back because of the excellent amenities, great location, and helpful staff.

The stay was okay. The location is great when it comes to convenience since it is super close to downtown, has some food trucks next to it for food and a small gas station. Its also close to lady bird lake for walks. When it comes to the Hotel it has a lot of room for improvement specially with other hotels with a lower rate and same or bettervconditions. Both elevators for the right wing need maintenance as they shake a lot when going up. The pool is surprisingly super clean but small and short, great for kids. The parking has poor lighting but lots of space. The rooms have good comfortable beds but the lighting isnt the best, i had to open the curtains to get good lighting. The shower has the same issue with very poor lighting and the toilet wont frush at times. The microwave worked great as well the coffee maker but the fridge wasnt working for us. Also the view from the room was blocked by the left wing of the hotel so you can see your neighbors and they can see you but can barely see the lady bird lake. Overall the hotel fulfilled its purposes of having a place to sleep but i would recommend to look for something more updated/nicer for the pretty penny youre paying.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. One of the elevators was terrifying. Started shaking the higher it went (I was on top floor). May want to fix that.

The first room given had what appeared to be blood in the bathtub. We requested a new room the next AM and were given a new room with acceptable bathroom. We were comped a breakfast for our inconvenience. The hotel shows it's age.

Excellent experience. A bit dated but great service, clean and convenient. A bit off the main restaurants area but on the trail and lake for runs and walks. Thank you!

We were there for a Tx Longhorn football game. This hotel was in a great location and very convenient for us. Everyone was super nice and check in and out was super easy. The rooms were comfy and clean.

There was a dirty towel left in the bathroom and the coffee machine was not working .

The room was facing the freeway so if you need a quiet room, this is not the hotel for you. All night long, traffic noise. The ice machine on the 12th floor was across from my room, in the hallway - did not work. Had to visit a separate floor for ice. The ceiling had noticeable damage and a large square section of the ceiling did not match the rest of the ceiling. Water damage above the closet had not been repaired - there was either water damage or black mold on the ceiling. The thing that kept me awake more than traffic was the heater clicking on and off. It dropped just below freezing last night and the heater would kick on with a loud CLICK - drown out the traffic. Then CLICK to shut off and...I could hear the traffic again. IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. On a positive, front desk staff was super friendly - fantastic location if you're visiting downtown, free parking is a plus. Bed was super comfortable and clean. Bathroom was extremely clean.

The room smelled like mildew

The room smelled like soured milk and the floor between the bedroom and the bathroom was sopping wet. The smell was terrible, but the hotel was full and we could not change rooms. Totally unacceptable.

Beautiful view from our room. Room was clean. Staff was extremely friendly and kind. We ate in the bar. Food and drinks were great. Definitely would stay here again

The room was clean but the ac did not cool well. They did not fix.

Bathrooms on the top floor are a bit small, but other than that it was a good stay.

AC did not work like it should and it was hot at nights.

I really enjoyed the area but unfortunately our hotel room was not it. The A/C did not blow cold and we are in Texas so you know how hot that can be. It was pretty bad night sleep with poor air circulation. Would not recommend it.

Room was good but the AC I dont think worked very well in my room and also the internet was choppy on the 10th floor

The room was way too small, no closet space and the television was the size of an iPad. I was sold on views of the lake but my room didn’t quite offer that.

AC in the lakeview room didn't seem to work at all. Very outdated but it was a beautiful view and the bed was comfortable.

The power went out , no elevators and nine floors up was rough. Apparently there was a fire and the fire alarm went off but we didn’t get it on the ninth floor , so not good! Ended up checking out at about 11pm and driving 21/2 hours home instead of suffering through the heat. We were fully refunded but honestly that doesn’t make up for the fact that the alarm didn’t work and driving home when we expected to have breakfast and stay in the area a bit. The free shuttle was great though, took us anywhere within two miles. The staff were very nice, so even though we had a bad experience they handled it well and I wouldn’t rule out staying there again.

Everything was fine but they asked to withdraw $100 from my card before check in as a deposit and when I left they said they would return it to my card and so far it has been a week and they have not returned it

Really great quality hotel here with amazingly friendly and personable staff that made for a great one night stay for me as I was in town for a show at Emo's down the road. George checked me in and was awesome, he has great musical taste and generously upgraded my room. Totally unexpected but very appreciated! Thanks George! The room was very clean, neat, comfortable and quiet. Can't ask for much more than that! The whole hotel seems to be very well taken care of, and I'd definitely return again.

Front desk staff were excellent...

When checking in at 3:30 they still didn’t know if a room was clean, if Im paying to check in at 3 there should be 0 excuses. Checking out on Sunday the person was very dismissive and we still had 1 question.

There was only one gentleman that was extremely helpful at front desk and everyone else was rude specially an old man with long hair got very agitated and seemed bothered whenever I would ask for clarification or help. There was kids running up and down 4th floor and called front desk. Lady assured security would come up to fix the situation and no one ever came. Kids continued to run up and down and knocking on room doors making a lot of disruption. Restaurant and bar staff were amazing and very accommodating.

George, at the front desk, was phenomenal! He allowed us early check-in and was very helpful getting us settled. Thank YOU!

Staff is always so amazing at this hotel. When possible I always choose this hotel. It's got a great location free parking easy access to everything and there's even a restaurant on site.

The hotel is well located and a good value for the price. We had a couple of maintenance issues but the desk clerks were very helpful and the staff resolved the problems in good time. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We paid for the breakfast in advance and that was an excellent decision. Breakfast was good and there were few other places to eat nearby.

Nice clean rooms with a great location. Right on lake and walking distance to Rainey St. & FREE PARKING... which pays for itself. Downtown parking can run almost price of a room smh.

Everything was good in the room. Not right in the centre of the city, but a nice 20 min walk along the river or $7 for an uber ride.

Holiday Inn - Townlake is a great location for leisure stays right on Lady Bird lake in Austin. It has convenient back door access to Austin's famous boardwalk and river pathways that makes it very attractive for long stays. It also has lake access points for kayak launches, which becomes useful if you're planning sunset tours for bat watching. Daily hot breakfast keeps rotating the menu too, and can become a brunch too as it is open till 11 AM. You'll find lime scooters and rental bikes right outside hotel, even though it's not sold by IHG. A couple food trucks sit next to hotel as well which makes it late night food option. Overall, it's definitely recommended hotel for leisure stays IF you can find good pricing deals, compared to a lot of nearby properties.

Waking distancie to Town Lake. Very near to downtown Austin

It is very close to Austin's most popular trail and is also within walking distance of downtown where you can find restaurants, shops, parks, night clubs..v

Pleasant hotel not far from downtown Austin -- free parking. It's about 0.5 mile walk along the Lake path to downtown. Decent rooms, reasonably well-appointed. Not terribly modern, but pleasant enough. Clean beds and bathroom. Bar/restaurant area is a bit basic, but the food was pretty decent. Free parking.

While at Breakfast the stafff -Maria was not so friendly. Not the best start to my day. I paid extra for breakfast. When I asked for a coffee she pointed me down the hall. As I sat and watched her serve all other tables coffee and juice. Very rude. When you pay over $300.00 a night for a room you expect a little friendliness.

Great location for the UT game, room was spacious and clean, staff are super helpful & friendly. Nice breakfast buffet each morning. Free parking which is a huge bonus in Austin. Right next to Lady Bird Lake with walking trails and kayak & paddle board rentals onsite The power did go out one night but they worked quickly to restore it. I would definitely stay again

The restaurant bar host was very kind & friendly host and the food was great.

This is an older, remodeled hotel. It does not have everything you might want in room conveniences but it is a value for the price. Parking is included and convenient. The breakfast option for purchase with your stay is good, staff attentive. We would stay here again when visiting Austin.

Staff very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I told the front desk staff how much we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The bar staff was great and the dinner menu was very tasty. Thank you!!
