I was in Austin for a heart ablation at St David's and had to wait an additional day after surgery. It is a beautiful and comfortable hotel. The staff was very attentive and amicable. We ate in the restaurant, and the food was very tasty. I only have 2 complaints, our TV didn't work during our stay, which is not a big deal I'm not a great fan of TV anyway. The other issue was I was stranded in the elevator a bit comical really. I managed to get the elevator to respond to move from the 2nd floor to the basement . With a sore incision, I had to climb 2 flights of stairs back to my room (ouch) I looked at it as therapy. Would I stay again? Absolutely! , but I would check TV just in case.

Had a wonderful stay, in Austin for a concert at the Moody Center and Hotel Ella was conveniently located. The staff was courteous, helpful, and professional. We will stay again, but hopefully we book when there isn’t a wedding. Several amenities are not available to guests that are not guests of the wedding.

I liked the aesthetic of the hotel and rooms and most of the staff were pleasant. However, I found some things could have been improved upon. My room was the deluxe king room, and the TV cabinet was missing the sliding doors which looked sloppy. Also there was no closet, just an armoire with limited handing space which was hard to organize my things. The carpets also were musky smelling.When I arrived, there were plenty of dirty room service dishes outside of rooms, and they were not picked up for at least 2 days. I dined in the restaurant for dinner my first night, and the food and service were really good. However, I attempted to dine again twice for breakfast but did not enjoy those experiences. The waiter on one day seemed annoyed to be working, which made it uncomfortable. The next day, there was only a waitress on staff that seemed overwhelmed with only 3 tables. I was left for 30 minutes with the menu with no service which was a waste of time. Lastly, the elevator was broken for three days which could be inconvenient for those with mobility issues or when brining or removing luggage from the upper floors. I hope to return to Austin, but don't think I will come back to this hotel.

I wish I had upgraded to a room by the pool! Great accommodation. Excellent round the clock care. Easy check in. Comfy bed. Great restaurant with a changing menu and relaxing pool! I loved that you could order food by the pool as well. Valet is expensive overnight but worth it.

This hotel is beautiful and quaint. We didn't try the restaurant because it was closed but noticed it had good reviews. The pool area was very cute. I loved that there was Nespresso in the room. The only complaint that I have is that there is required valet parking and the cost is $50 per night, which I think is very excessive. It is also inconvenient to have to request your car every time (although the valet staff was very quick in retrieving the car once it was requested). I would stay here again if I didn't have a rental car.

There was no staff at the check-in desk when I arrived, which was fine as I was heading to the in-house bar to meet a friend. Bar service was friendly and made excellent cocktails. I did arrive mid afternoon on a Sunday and the hotel in general was not busy. The room was clean and large. The valet made sure it was easy for me to get my car the next morning for a 6 AM check out. The lobby offers coffee and water, but unfortunately, the coffee was not ready when I was checking out.

Bad carpet perfume smell ruined this stay… We stayed in the annex building next-door to the mansion and it just smells horrible. They need to replace the carpeting that’s been there for decades.

No one at front desk when trying to check in? Out of the blue $45 valet only parking ,unless you could find somewhere on a street. Dirty sheets. Did not come replace after we asked. Came back to no sheets on bed. Transferred is to smaller room in middle of night. Dog next door.

This place is old, dirty and loud. The AC was so loud that if I didn’t have ear plugs. I would’ve changed rooms. We stayed here last year and it was similar. We tried again bc it’s so close to my daughter’s school and they had a good deal but no more!!!!! $50 valet which is pretty common but they had 1 person working so we waited so long to get our car. The app you are suppose to use wasn’t working so the valet guy argued with us and said he couldn’t fetch our car bc we might be trying to steal it. What?!?!? It was ridiculous. Soooooo many better options. The girl at check in wasn’t very friendly either. Actually none of the staff were. Stay away!!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Front desk was kind enough to let me check in early after having driven very early in the morning. Coffee was excellent. Room was clean, comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. I would absolutely stay again.

Very friendly and professional staff. Clean and well maintained. My room’s coffee machine did not work , so the on-site manager came within 5 minutes and relocated to another room, a great one. A bit expensive since only valet parking is available but I will say the money is well spent. Five star overall.

The property is beautiful. Our room was comfortable. The veranda was lovely. Probably the best part of this place. HOWEVER room service/in room dining was terrible. It took forever to get our order. Over an hour. Food was cold, no utensils were brought to us. We placed the tray outside our door. It stayed there over 24 hours!!! So gross!! We had to call twice to have it picked up! No extra TP in restroom. Had to venture out in hallway to search for some.

We stayed at the Hotel Ella for a Wedding. The property is in a wonderful location for Austin. The room was clean and spacious. It is a small property and the staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. We had a great time and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Pretty on the exterior but there are no bellmen, lobby is underwhelming, rooms are nothing special. No desk no seating terrible wifi that is nonexistent at times. Restaurant service was great but decor is surprisingly scarce and minimal. Noisy streets that woke us up at night. Was expecting to be blown away by this hotel and was unoderwhelmsd and disappointed

Beautiful boutique hotel with an excellent staff. The porch was so nice to sit and just watch life go by. I did not try the pool but it was pretty to look at. I wasn't thrilled about the view from our room (trash dumpsters and really bad apartment complex) but the room was nice. The room had a refrigerator but not a microwave which would have been helpful. The toilet and shower head could use an upgrade :)

This is an old mansion reworked into a hotel. The beds and pillows and AC were very comfortable, indeed above the price level. The bathroom was small and the vanity mirror was beveled in an pretty but non-functional way, so that if you are height of an average woman, the wood frame splits right in the middle of your face. There was a make up magnifier mirror though. Nonetheless, I wonder if those who order furniture consider such things.

Room view is very nice. We had a car and used street parking, which was very easy and convenient. The A/C was really loud and the air coming out of it was blowing so hard it was blowing my hair around while sitting on the bed (from the vent across the room). That was a major complaint of ours. Very outdated, not 4 stars at all and nothing what it looks like in the photos. Rooms are not in the nice historic building as shown in the pictures. They are in a very outdated separate building. Poor condition, not even a coffee maker. Ugly views. Pool area super cheap! Every things beyond disappointing. Tv didn’t work. Staff forgot to fix it 3 days in a row. Don’t go here!

I waited at the front desk for 10 minutes. Couldn’t find anyone, called their number and no answer. I walked to the back kitchen and someone said they would come check me in. I get to the room, scan the QR code and it wasn’t the correct menu. I text the info to pull my car around. The valet attendant was asleep in his car. I was shocked and disappointed.

The property is beautiful. Our room was comfortable. The veranda was lovely. Probably the best part of this place. HOWEVER room service/in room dining was terrible. It took forever to get our order. Over an hour. Food was cold, no utensils were brought to us. We placed the tray outside our door. It stayed there over 24 hours!!! So gross!! We had to call twice to have it picked up! No extra TP in restroom. Had to venture out in hallway to search for some.

It’s not the staff’s fault but they simply did not have enough people on staff during my stay and therefore the service was really slow and the staff was obviously comfortable with it. Seemed like no manager was on site.

Lovely stay but some surprises. My family enjoyed our stay A LOT. Fun little pool. Restaurant was nice. The surprising parts include: Most rooms are not in fact in the historic house but rather a building built off to the west side. It’s not the best neighborhood so don’t expect a comfortable neighborhood stroll.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night to attend a concert at Moody Center. The location was convenient - we took an Uber there and walked back. The hotel's appearance was quite impressive, and the welcoming nature of the front desk staff especially struck us. They truly made our night special. A very kind gesture that we greatly appreciated!

I liked the aesthetic of the hotel and rooms and most of the staff were pleasant. However, I found some things could have been improved upon. My room was the deluxe king room, and the TV cabinet was missing the sliding doors which looked sloppy. Also there was no closet, just an armoire with limited handing space which was hard to organize my things. The carpets also were musky smelling.When I arrived, there were plenty of dirty room service dishes outside of rooms, and they were not picked up for at least 2 days. I dined in the restaurant for dinner my first night, and the food and service were really good. However, I attempted to dine again twice for breakfast but did not enjoy those experiences. The waiter on one day seemed annoyed to be working, which made it uncomfortable. The next day, there was only a waitress on staff that seemed overwhelmed with only 3 tables. I was left for 30 minutes with the menu with no service which was a waste of time. Lastly, the elevator was broken for three days which could be inconvenient for those with mobility issues or when brining or removing luggage from the upper floors. I hope to return to Austin, but don't think I will come back to this hotel.

I wish I had upgraded to a room by the pool! Great accommodation. Excellent round the clock care. Easy check in. Comfy bed. Great restaurant with a changing menu and relaxing pool! I loved that you could order food by the pool as well. Valet is expensive overnight but worth it.

The check in staff was wonderful. She helped me find a larger room when we arrived. The bar server was great-very friendly and most apologetic when food took a long time. Dinner was disappointing - food delivered was not what was described on the menu.

I was so excited to stay here. I passed this building all the time as an architecture student. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We had a mini suite (which is an extra roomy room) and it was adjacent to the old balcony area next to the columns. We had a friend come and we ate dinner out there with food ordered from the hotel. Everything was tasty, and delivered with gusto. It was fun

Debi and I come into town Hotel Ella as our go to place to stay. Staff is always there for you. Valet it’s very friendly and courteous. Drinks in the bar are great. And we love their quesadillas in the bar.

Absolutely amazing 3 days to see our granddaughter celebrate her 7 yr old BD , they live in OKC, we live in Round Top Tx .. the trip is usually a 6 hr trip to OKC . However this trip was special , Ariana Grande had 6 days of entertainment in Austin .. Elle’s favorite Singer .. it was the first visit to Hotel Ella . The staff , parking guys , maids , Bar staff & Wonderful Restaurant Staff@, Goodalls .. We certainly plan to come & spend time there , we never left the hotel … all the amenities were outstanding .. a very nice respite we enjoyed Immensely .. thank you for amazing stay , Christine R
