Borderline run down. Needs repairs- pool had 2 piles of gravel in it, rooms old. Inadequate parking- need signage on what parking actually can be used by hotel guests. Good view from balcony of part of Mount Rushmore.

Parking was difficult because we arrived late and the parking although designated for the hotel was shared by a bar/restaurant next door. Needed to have a way for security to ask guests or the bar to please move their cars for guests of the hotel. Other parking options were across the street. Not helpful if you're disabled. Need more ada rooms.

Property was nicely located to shopping and restaurants. And very close to Mt Rushmore. Staff was very friendly and accomofating. There is no swimming pool or hot tub. No body lotion. Parking is available.

No microwave,snowy tv channels,dead bugs in air conditioner,no mini frig.,no iron and boards,ice cube maker not working when we went to get ice. Staff was really nice and friendly and you can see Mount Rushmore from balcony lnfront of your room.

Staff were nice, hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable but dated. Perfect location for Keystone attractions. No breakfast options, which would have been appreciated. Parking however a nightmare. People parking in front of our room, my 84 year old mother with a walker would have to walk a ways to our room, there are not enough parking. Store and laundry are close by, convenient. There is indeed a view of Mount Rushmore from the parking lot and upper floors

Did find gloves (clean) in one of the beds. This property looks like it was once the biggest and best of Keystone, but a filled in pool and age shows otherwise now. Was good and clean and reasonable, but nothing spectacular. Good location. You can see three of the four presidents on the mountain. Sorry Teddy!

The hotel room was very small, the beds were small, and the mattresses were in poor condition. The air conditioning was too noisy. The light in the bathroom didn't work. We also found cockroaches, and the whole room stinks. I'll never return to that hotel. Good luck to whoever rented it.

The room wasn't clean and arrived early and was told room wasn't ready. She said not til 3pm. So when we arrived at 430pm, we went to room it had a bad odor of urine and sheets hadn't been changed because they were dirty. Rather not go into details but in was terrible

The hotel is in need a updating. The carpets, blankets and curtains smelled of cigarettes and mildew. Even though the room appeared to be clean the smell was difficult to overcome. The wooden doors to the outside did not give me a secure feeling. On a positive note the view from the walkway was very nice.

We had the clerk show us about 9 rooms and finally settled. Booked 3 nights because we were going to be in the area that long. All the rooms smelled of mold or mildew. The one we stayed at was the least smell but still smelled. Kind of scary with no one on staff after 9 or 10 when clerk went home. Stayed 2 nights and tried to cancel last night and they wouldn’t. Told me to contact Expedia and sent virtual message chat to see if we could get our money back and the chat said one moment and it never came back to give me and answer. But we left after 2 nights. Also booked it with a Discover card for the 3 nights and got to the hotel and she said they don’t take Discover. That should have popped up during our initial booking, would have saved us lots of grief and our money. The hotel looks nothing like the tranquil pictures you see online. We paid extra for Mountain View which was only a hill, not what we pictured. Also there were these little bugs we would see crawling around on top of the carpeted baseboards.

There isn’t a refrigerator in the rooms and have to go to the lobby for coffee machine. There is also only 4 Channels for the TV. Price per night is a bit high for what you get.

The 5 stars is for the front desk lady in the morning. She's warm and welcoming. I hesitated about the tunnels at Needles Highway but with her warm assurance, I drove one of the memorable drives in Custer State Park. Needles Eye wasn't as narrow as I thought. The motel and the room were dated. I personally don't like beds with those old school coverings. That said, I would stay there again. The motel is in a very convenient location; virtually at the foot of Mount Rushmore. Restaurants are within walking distance but shops close early including the gas station store next door.

Chris Conner was amazing. I checked in at almost office closing time, he got me checked in and stay a little later to help get me get some maps printed due to my phone crashing. That was huge for me. He made sure I was set before leaving for the night. Thank you for everything

Place could use updating. Friendly staff. Aprox 5 min drive to Near Mt Rushmore monument and centrally located in Keytone. Town stores and dinning are walking distance. Typical above average motel, but love the area near almost everything. Keystone town is beautiful. I would stay here again with my 2 grand kids.

Hotel was right in the town of keystone south dakota very comfortable great staff great location up on a hill could see mt. Rushmore right from the hotel beautiful view Was able to walk down to the town in minutes and shop, look around and enjoy music playing through outside speakers and check out the eats wonderful!!!

The location was perfect for the places we chose to visit. Centrally located and easy access to freeways and roads to get there. We went to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Custer, Hill City, Spearfish, Lead, Deadwood, Rapid City.

Really liked this Motel. Great area, few minute walk away from the restaurants and shops. And 5 minute drive to Mount Rushmore. You can actually see the monument from the hotel, in the distance. In particular, one of the staff at reception called Moose, was really helpful and offered lots of advice on places to see, and recommended a tour which i did, and lots of good info about the area, such as hiking trails etc. No breakfast here, but a good cafe across from the reception. Would definitely stay again when in the area!

Very good location, we could see Mt Rushmore from our room door. Close to food, gas, shops. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly at check-in. Fat Sam's restaurant within walking distance had a very good breakfast buffet. The front office is not there all night and they do not have room service, but they do specify you can get fresh towels at the front desk during office hours. Ice machine is outside and didn't work for a little bit, but they got it fixed within a reasonable matter of time. TV only had a few channels available, but that was OK for us since we spent most of our time exploring. Great location and close to Mt Rushmore. Also saw Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial and Black Hills National Forest. Overall a very good place to stay

Good location, close to everything around Mt. Rushmore. They have coffee in the morning, A:C in the rooms. Adding some brochures od extra services they offer would be a plus in the rooms. For the rest, is very convenient for the rates.
