The hotel is just two minutes from Keystone Very nice location. The grounds are nice. Lots of deer and wild turkeys. Our room had a lanai and a lttle view of mount rushmore. You could see Georges head. About 5 minutes from Mount Rushmore. Truly a quiet and great location. We stayed in mid October. Things were going to be shutting down at end of month. The Pub/Bar was closed for season. The morning breakfast was good, staff were great.

Beautiful property, very clean, friendly staff, great location away from the hustle and bustle of Keystone, yet just a 2-minute drive down to Keystone. Breakfast was good, not great, I guess I expected a little more - it was comparable to what you'd get at a typical hotel chain. The restaurant was very good - wish we would have eaten there more than one night. We loved the little hike around the property, with the little bridge and the deer we saw every day. The hot tub was an amazing way to end the day, with a view of Mount Rushmore in the distance, especially after dark with it lit up. It was very quiet - not the typical hotel where you can hear people above you walking or out in the hallways. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

I love that every room has a patio. The staff are very professional and accommodating. The rooms are a nice size. There are also hot tubs on the property and the parking is free. I really appreciate that breakfast (good breakfast) is included with the stay. We highly recommend this property.

The place is very nice and on nice grounds. It is close to everything. Would have preferred to be able to enjoy the fire pit and outside deck which was being used for a wedding/private event. It’s advertised for the guests and should not be part of a private event. We only got to sit out there once for 3 nights with a private event and the weather against us. A private event should not use regular guest amenities.

We stayed at KbarS during our trip to South Dakota. The property is stunning, the staff are all friendly and helpful. There was even an outdoor hot tub between lodges that had a view of Mount Rushmore. So glad we chose this resort

K Bar S Lodge is fantastic! View of Black Hills is superb, rooms are furnished with excellent mattresses; reasonably priced meals in their cafe; very tasty complimentary breakfast buffet served in Gazebo with great menu options; gracious and friendly welcoming staff; 15 minutes from Mt Rushmore; Very Friendly guests week before Sturgis Rally! 'Little surprised' that guests are charged 18.5% on top of menu prices to pay salaries of wait staff. Then another tips is optional but encouraged. But we will return to K Bar S on our next trip to Mt Rushmore and Keystone area.

The setting was interesting, nestled next to cliffs so some rooms had that view which was disappointing while others had the view of Mount Rushmore, which would be the desired view, of course. It’s very close to downtown Keystone and Mount Rushmore which was helpful for tourists. The room amenities were typical, beds were a bit too firm for our liking but the room was clean and was a comfortable place to come back to each day. Continental breakfasts offered good options, hot foods, cereal, danish, and more which was nice for getting the day started. Overall, a pleasant stay.

The rooms could use a little love but they were clean and in decent condition. The breakfast was amazing! Far exceeded my expectations! The location was perfect for everything we wanted to see, Mt Rushmore, Custer, Keystone, Deadwood, Sturgis, etc. Most importantly everyone I experienced at this lodge was so nice and accommodating!!

Beautiful property close to Mount Rushmore & the town of Keystone. Our room faced Mount Rushmore where we enjoyed sitting on our balcony to take in the monument lit up in the evening. The free breakfast had a great variety of food. The staff very informative and friendly. The room & bathroom older, but clean. My only recommendation for the hotel is to update the rooms. Otherwise, great location on beautiful wooded property.

Great location and property. Shower has a huge rainfall shower head, but weak water pressure nullifies it. A very small tv for 2025, but good WiFi. Nice breakfast and dining area.

What a pleasant surprise when we checked in. You can see Mt. Rushmore from the hotel lobby! We received a sincere welcome from Craig and then Laura was very helpful as well. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. A family of deer slept on the grass outside our balcony and we enjoyed coffee on our patio while enjoying the beautiful pines and of course, the profile of George Washington up on the monument! We would visit again!!

Highly highly recommend K Bar S!! We went to the nightly lighting of Mt. Rushmore and it started storming plus it was so dark out. We were relieved to find we were 8 min from K Bar S! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, our room was super clean and comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious and in such a beautiful glass building! The only negative was that there wasn’t a covered area to walk into a building. We had to walk up to the 2nd floor in the rain. It was worth it though

My wife and I stayed one night on our trip to see Mt. Rushmore. I highly recommend this place. You can see the Mountain from the hotel! The restaurant has good food with a view on the porch. I wish breakfast had been open a little longer.

The. Property is in a beautiful setting. The bed wAs comfortable. F w it a poor rating because there wAs not hot water for shower either in the evening or in the morning. Both of us got sick from dinner at the lodge. Left a day early. Yes, they did try to fix the water temp, but I don't think they knew what they were doing.
