Residence Inn by Marriott Morgantown Medical Center Area

This was not a very good stay for a one night stop. When our family checked in, the room was very dirty. Pee in the sink and on the toilet, no sheets on the bed, trash in the trash cans and dust all over. Once we requested a new room it was a little better but the hallways leading to the room had spit out sunflower seeds all over and lightbulbs burnt out. We decided to let our kids burn some energy off at the pool and there were a number of issues there. The indoor pool floor was co deed in dirt, chairs were broken. The outdoor pool deck had massive screws laying around that people could step on as well as a massive power cord laying right next to the water with the plug out. Major safety hazards. The staff didn’t even seem phased when I shared this. It sounds like this was not at all new information to them and they simply nodded and moved on. For the money we paid it was not a good experience. I would recommend staying elsewhere.

The property was really nice. I did not like that they dont have a pool.

Having to pay for parking is pathetic

Excellent breakfasts. Kind, attentive, efficient staff, convenient to hospital. Clean nice hotel room but could not get the tv to work. It would come on and cut off in a couple minutes every time. The remote said Netflix but all the Netflix channel showed was ads for buying Netflix. Could have used a notebook in the room with instructions for that and also wifi password etc.. Wish the hotel had a pool but that's okay. The room was missing a few things. No coffee cups.

Was charged $14 for parking without being told. Also a rat was in the courtyard outside… right next to where breakfast was served.

The hotel rooms are dated. You can judge by the condition of the bathrooms. It is an old room that could use a bathroom refit. The mattress on the sofa bed won in my fight to sleep on it 5/5. Eventually after losing the first round, I removed it from the sofa and placed it on the floor. I could partially sleep through the night post the first night, but the springs on that sofa mattress was like a Cuban boxer who never makes the American news . Lethal. The room itself is great for two people but if you are going to try to cram a family of 4 good luck. Earlier I had booked it for my family but God’s greatness prevailed and my daughter cancelled so only me an my son enjoyed the room. It was plenty of space for us and we enjoyed the room overall. The breakfast area. Good hearty breakfasts served by the sweetest people in the country. West Virginia folks are like the most awesome people I have run into. Mountain folks with big hearts. The Gym. Old and dated with two Planet Fitness treadmills that are timed for 30 minutes so don’t plan to be on that beyond 35 cause it stops. I used the gym twice & it had dumbells & that’s about it. One big complaint was that I was charged for parking & neither hotels.com or their website mentioned a fee so that kind of left a bad taste in the beginning but as I stayed in the area I understood why WV hotels would charge for parking. Barely any flat land. Overall visit WV for its nature & its people & hopefully Marriott updates it’s rooms.

Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Water pressure in shower was very low. Breakfast was a terrible cheap assortment of food, we looked and left ate elsewhere. The biggest disappointment is paying $7 per day for parking! Like are you kidding me? Never did I ever have to pay for parking at a hotel. Won’t stay again if they don’t offer free parking like surrounding places

They need a new mattress in rm 117. There are two indentations you have to navigate from the countless other people who have slept on it. They also have to get rid of the $7 parking fee that you will pay in addition to the quoted price

We stayed for a week while my daughter attended a camp at WVU. Hotel was convenient to the campus, hospital and football stadium. The hotel is pet friendly 😊. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and sufficient. Staff was so friendly and helpful!! The gym was subpar and the pool was closed but other than that, our stay was amazing!

Great highky recommend. Only draw back is the parking fee.

Cleanliness was poor. Entrance hallway not cleaned. The room was dusty on multiple surfaces and bathroom floor was very dirty with bunches of hair evident. For these reasons, I do not recommend.

When I arrived, I tried to call the front desk for over an hour to tell them my room was extremely dirty. They said they would have a housekeeping manager call me.. That never happened. I asked for compensation upon check out, they said it would have to come from the third party I booked through. Very upsetting!

Room was dirty upon arrival. The refrigator and freezer smelt like raw fish. The trash cans look like someone had vomitted. The bathtub had black mold growing

Waited over hour for room to be cleaned and made ready. Bathroom mold in shower. Trash can in front entrance overflowing. Person making breakfast had long hair not pulled back and touched food without gloves. I have photos of all.

Very convenient and close to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Very clean. Comfortable.

The bed needs to be replaced. It was lumpy, old, and not comfortable. The pull out sofa bed still has the sheets on as well as 1 pillow when we pulled it out to use. Seems like the room was not fully checked for readiness. But seriously, please replace the king size bed and the floor carpet.

Hotel was great. A little noisy with life flights in and out of hospital, but that is to be expected. Next time I’ll play my white noise.

Great location, great stay! Room was specious with full size kitchen, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, great breakfast! Would definitely stay there again!

The staff was great. The food was really good. The room was very spacious. First night there was a drip in the air conditioner and in the morning they did move us to a new room. Very accommodating for their issue in the room.

Ask about senior discount was told because we used third party reservations we were not allowed one. No tv remotes on arrival. No coffee cups or bathroom cup. Carpet beside fireplace ragged.Worst room bottom floor nearest road and hospital with helipad.

Residence Inn is the ideal hotel if one is visiting Ruby Memorial Hospital or Mountaineer Field. Both are walking distance. The room itself is good sized and extremely comfortable. The staff were overly helpful and the free breakfast was very good. If there were one area I feel should be addressed it is that the televisions in the guest rooms do not always connect to the hotel's wifi. For that reason, the hotel has purchased Ruku sticks which they offer to guests. The guest service employee, a friendly younger lady, who brought the device to our room remained for nearly an hour trying to get it to work properly. While I was able to hide it better, my child made it clear he would prefer she just leave. Totally not her fault... she was just trying to help... we were never able to get the Ruku to work correctly and for the rest of our stay, I had to turn the tv on and off and adjust the volume using the button on the tv itself... which was a single button that had to be toggled between settings. Given we were only staying one night, this was not a big deal. For guests with extended stays, that would not be ideal. Wouldn't addressing the issue with the televisions themselves ultimately be a better solution?

Never seemed to be anyone at the front desk to assist. Requested a change to foam pillows was never handled. Not exactly comfortable with the loitering going on out front of the hotel all night.

This has been our go too since my daughter started looking and attending WVU. Staff has always been great and accommodating. The last trip we had a discrepancy on our bill and they handled it quickly and notified me once it was completed. Thank you!

Upon checking in things seemed ok. My mother was traveling with us and staying in her own room right next door. While she was sleeping someone opened her door and tried coming in because the hotel forgot they had given her that room and issued it to another couple. When addressing the house keeping they kept blaming my mom on the issue. As of now they have done nothing for her. Very disappointed.

Locked my door and put do not disturb sign on the door to come back 4-5 hours later with my door lodged open… Talked to front desk and they said it MAY have been maintenance but they weren’t sure. Pretty upsetting

Staff was wonderful and helpful! Perfect place to stay when you have a loved one in the hospital

This is the place to stay in Morgantown! It’s clean and has all the amenities you need. We have appointments at Ruby often and it’s so close!

Walking distance to medical center. Property is clean.

Parking’s a little rough, but otherwise, this was a great place, and close to the hospital, which it’s important for many people staying here. Definitely recommend for anybody needing to be near Ruby.

Excellent breakfast. Well maintained and up-to-date rooms. Great location next to WVU campus and close to highway.

Stayed overnight before out-patient surgery at Ruby Memorial Hospital. We had to be at the hospital at 7:45 AM. We live about 3 hours away and we were able to get to Morgantown before the snow storm. Great accommodations very close to the hospital. Will stay there when we have to be at Ruby Memorial again.

Beautiful hotel and super clean. The bed was the most comfortable Id exer experienced at a hotel. The TV had a Netflix option so I could catch up on my shows. Breakfast was beyond expectations and was delicious! The man running the breakfast area was wonderful. All around great experience!

Property right between Toronto and Charlotte so great break. The hotel was super clean, rooms were good size for a family and complimentary breakfasts was great.

Bkfst was not great. Oatmeal was not cooked at all. For Marriott I expected breakfast to be much better than what was served
