Comfort Suites Savannah Gateway I-95

Some initial confusion about the room. But only briefly. Fitness center still has no treadmill, and it is poorly equipped.

Overall my stay waa not terrible. The breakfast was pretty good when you could get it. The hotel was full. There was only one person tending to breakfast and she could not keep up. The juice machine was out of order and they did not offer an alternative. They way the breakfast was set up it did now allow for a good flow the waffle machine should be moved. The space was too small which made it hard when to get around the people waiting for their waffle to cook. All of the tables and chair were in terrible condition. There were never pool.towels available. Their is also only one elevator. I spent alot of time just waiting for the elevator. The room was fine. The beds were comfortable. For the price the room was exactly what I would have expected. They definitely need to do something about the breakfast area.

I was alone with 3 pre-schoolers and 2 elementary school aged children. The laundry and breakfast were convenient and the indoor pool saved our last day as we were rained in. The staff was polite and helpful.

I did like the property. My family and I were headed to Tybee Island so the ride was about 40 minutes. The breakfast was good.Staff was nice. I would visit again. One thing was the pool was out I don’t feel good due to renovations.

I liked that breakfast was included, especially the waffle making machine. They also had complimentary coffee all day and snacks/soft drinks for sale, which was super convenient. The room was big and clean, it had a microwave, mini fridge (although it didn’t keep things that cold, but it worked), and coffee machine. The staff was really nice and the parking was super convenient. The only thing is that the elevator was broken some of the days we were there so we had to use the stairs, which isn’t terrible (there are only 4 floors) but it was inconvenient. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel.

Pool wasn’t operating, breakfast was not good, room was extremely small and cramped, holes in the wall covered in spackle not painted over so major eye sore. Would not stay here again

Pool unavailable and gym

Pool not open. Water on floor. Check in took 45 minutes. The clerk was kind but there seemed to be a computer problem. It was not acceptable.

This was one of the nicer places I stayed at for this price point. Staff was friendly. The room was in good condition. The pull out couch mattress was in decent condition and the extra bedding was in a zippered bag in the room closet. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean. The hotel only had 1 elevator. At it's size it definitely should have had more, but the elevator was fast at least. Breakfast was the full usual style options. Staff was present to restock and keep the area clean. The place is right off the freeway, along with a string of other hotels, gas station, restaurants. This particular hotel is back from the street and it was a bit difficult to find the driveway that led to it, but you could easily see it from the street, so you knew you had the right area. Laundry was the only negative. Multiple machines were down, only 2 dryers were working. They didn't dry in one cycle, even lightweight clothes like t shirts. I had to run the dryer twice (once at night then again early morning), after waiting in a long line to even get a dryer. For anyone not doing laundry this won't be an issue.

The bathroom was clean, bedroom and linens clean, rooms outdated and mattresses firm.Breakfast was excellent and kitchen area clean.Many places to eat nearby and 95 close; good location took 1 hr to downtown. Indoor pool clean with towels.

We needed somewhere to stay during our trip to FL. Our family decided to stay here due to some pretty solid reviews and decent price. I wish I would have never stayed here. The moment I walked into my room there are stains on the walls, sofa bed was stained and dirty, the fridge had the WORST smell like rotten milk and rotten feet. THANKFULLY I brought my own antibacterial wipes to clean this room. My children went to swim in the pool after a 6 hr drive to only go down and see that they are still allowing people in the pool when the roof has fallen in on a portion of the pool and is MOLDED! Extremely dangerous! (We have pictures to prove it) also, we couldn’t even use any of the outlets to charge our phones because they were all broken. I’ve never in my life experienced a service such as this. It was so bad that our family decided we weren’t even going to shower because it was nasty. We were going to wait until we left and check into our condo the next morning. It’s so sad that people traveling have to experience this type of uncomfortably before a vacation. I will never stay here again.

Booked at the comfort suites for a quick family getaway. The room was ok . The bathroom was filthy and mold was on the ceiling. Bathtub was not cleaned I informed the front desk and no one came to resolve the issue so I went and bought cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom and re cleaned the room . The carpet was unraveling but I didn’t want to be confrontational. I wouldn’t stay here again but it was ok for the 2 days we was there .

The first room we were put in had a horrible mildew smell and black mold spots that looked like that had been painted over to try to hide them all over the ceiling. We were only in there for 20 minutes and my husband was having adverse reactions and a hard time breathing. Luckily the room they moved us to was much cleaner and appeared to be mold free. The fact that they tried to even put a family (we have a 2 year old) in the first room is ridiculous! The elevator was due for inspection multiple years ago. This hotel clearly needs some safety checks and follow ups as it does not appear to be safe. We didn’t stick around for the breakfast the next morning.

Our room was very dirty. Hair all over the bathroom, terrible smell throughout the hotel. Breakfast was horrible-stale bread, stale cereal, stale muffins. C

Bathroom was not very clean. Dried urine on the floor by the toilet. Tub not very clean.

Although room was relatively clean, bathroom cleanliness was suspect (dried urine on bottom of toilet!).

The hotel looked really nice and clean. But the bathroom was dirty and 1 comforter had a blood stain on it. None of the maids spoke English. It was very hard telling them what we wanted. The gave us towels everyday but never took the dirty ones and they never cleaned the bathroom. We were there from Friday to Tuesday.

Thee room wasn’t cleaned properly it was a used beer under the bed my baby picked it up wasn’t to soap or shampoo in the holders was stains in the white sheets I was just very disappointed this time I normally have a good time when we stay but this was by far the worse experience never for me to pay my hard working money

Obviously an older facility. The exterior has been maintained quite well. The interior was okay. The carpet in our room and in the hallway had not been vacuumed recently and there were several, small, obviously old liquid spill areas that had not been properly extracted/cleaned in the room. The bathroom area had some minor age-related deficiencies. The bathtub is an uncomfortable shaped design; like standing in a small canoe with rounded bottom. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The price of the room was acceptable--perhaps slightly higher than merited. The facility is in a convenient location in proximity to the Savannah area. It is in a safe area with extremely convenient access to I-95. Despite some of the deficient areas mentioned, I'd stay at this Comfort Suites again.

Ok air conditioner wasn’t good

Could not get the room dark at night because there were no heavy drapes that would slide across the window and occlude the outside lights. A shear pair of curtains was present but didn't block out all the light.

Front desk personnel were very helpful and courteous. The other staff were polite and eager to help!

check in was a disaster. waiting in line for over 30 minutes while one person behind the desk seemed overwhelmed by what needed to be done. other than that, a decent stay

The front desk check-in clerk didn't come to the desk for several minutes even after ringing the bell. He had ear buds in and could not hear anyone at the front desk. When checking us in, he did not remove even one of the buds and was speaking so softly that we had to keep having him repeat himself as if he was trying be conscious not to yell over whatever was going on in his ears.

Should be more than one person on at night. Longer wait than expected to get checked in. Maybe we were a little tired and impatient but waited almost 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk. Im a big check over the room for bed bugs before we unpack anything or do anything. Floor is not swept very good. Food between kitchenette and the wall. Aquafina bottle next to heater under a curtain. So was not cleaned thoroughly. No sheets in the room for the extra pull out bed.

The only complaint I have is that the person at the front desk was very rude. He mumbled his words so it was difficult to hear him. Never said please or thank you. Very bad 1st impression.

In reading the reviews prior to my stay, it was interesting to witness the front desk staff in the same state that many reviewers had mentioned. While he was diligently working, he did look a bit overwhelmed. I also believe that, in the midst of handling a small line of patrons, he was training a new employee—the one who took care of me. Overall, my stay was decent. I'm not sure what it was, but I noticed that I had been bitten quite a bit on the day of my departure. I did visit Tybee Island, but I don't recall encountering any bugs there, and to be honest, the linens appeared clean—just noting my experience. My biggest gripe is that the signage needs to be updated. It took me multiple tries to find the entrance. It may have been the 18-wheeler parked near the actual entrance, combined with the blocked-off entry on the left (where the renovated hotel is being worked on), which made it appear as though it was a total dead end. That was stressful after having been on the road for quite some time. Considering that things were booked up and extremely expensive, this was a decent stay. The staff was very pleasant and flexible with checkout.

The Staff was friendly and went the extra mile for us .the room was clean and comfortable. I would go back and tell friends. There are many places to eat and a couple in walking distance of the hotel. the young lady that checked us in was very nice and professional.

Check in was terrible! I waited 38 minutes before I was even acknowledged and the guy was rude! Then I was given a handicapped room! Went to desk to get a different iron (the one in room was burnt) and once again the same guy was rude as hell! I won’t EVER be back!!!!

Great stay at the hotel. I judge a hotel by three benchmarks, check in/out, Everything in the room in working order, comfy bed. This hotel aced those criteria. The cleaning staff were excellent taking care of my room all three days I was there. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.

With the exception of the somewhat complicated access (at least when trying to find the hotel the first time), our stay was very satisfactory. The room, beds, climate control, bathroom, TV, etc., were among the better ones we have found in affordable hotels. The included breakfast was (in our experience) above average. Clearly a good choice for an accommodation.

Quiet area, a two restaurants close by (one is a 2 minute walk the second is a 5 minute walk).

Excellent Hotel! All of the staff were very pleasant, Room was clean, well decorated and very comfortable bed. Definitely a favorite for a Savannah location right off I-95.

Property was close to I-95 which made it easy to get into the city

Good property close to interstate for a one night stay . Lots of dining options and gas stations right there .

Room was comfortable, breakfast was just okay. Hotel had only one elevator so sometimes long wait. Poor signage which made it hard to find.

Easy access… area just seemed sketchy

Decent place. Breakfast was not good. Really they seemed to be making every effort to ensure that food is not good and you leave unhappy.

Hotel was old but clean. It could use an update. Breakfast was ok but not much choice. Waffles were good. Toppings for oatmeal and bananas would have been nice. They had the same hot choices both mornings, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Would prefer bacon.

A nice hotel in Savannah – everything was clean, and the staff were always helpful and accommodating. We appreciated the complimentary coffee and lime water in the lobby. The outdoor pool wasn’t perfectly clean, but kids still enjoyed swimming in it. Breakfast was included and very tasty – fresh waffles, omelets, sausages, and fruit. We also really enjoyed exploring downtown Savannah – it felt like a little piece of Europe with its historic buildings and beautiful parks.
