Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore by IHG

There's nothing special about the hotel. Carpet soiled, fridge had food left in it. Long hairs. AC not working, never got within 3 degrees of target temp. Hotel has seen better days, nothing nice or comfortable about it.

Everything is perfect

We found out on day 2 that our door does not lock and is not up to code. You can open the door without a key! The inside door block does not work because the door does not line up to the frame. There is dried blood on the edge of the tub and under the toilet. Management not available and you’re told to send videos of the concerns to an email (Chiskfrontdesk@lakhanihospitality.com). No response. I have the videos.

The hot tub did not work and the pool was disgusting (stairs were all slippery as if covered by algae). Breakfast was excellent, although they ran out of coffee and it took a very long time for them to replace. In the room the air conditioning did not work and even though the thermostat said 67 the room was very hot. Also, the faucet in the shower was backwards (hot was cold, cold was hot) and very loose. The night staff was nice, but he told us that we could use the backdoor to get back into the hotel after putting the parking pass on my truck but it did not work with the key and we had to walk back around the entire hotel. The receptionist in the morning, despite hearing that we were going to the hot tub, and getting bracelets for it, decided to let us find out on our own that it was not working. Had we known, my fiance wouldn't have specifically gone out at that moment to get a bathing suit. Instead we found out when I went to try the hot tub. When I reported that it did not work she said, "Oh, I know, they are working on it" . This was extremely frustrating. This looks as if it could be a gorgeous hotel, but stuff like that, especially since the hot tub was one of the reasons I booked that location, really brings down the overall quality of the location.
