I spent one night to use the hotel facilities, and found the pool, saina and Gym at my part of the hotel was not working for the next week. the alternative in the other building was not as good and smaller. the service at the front desk was extremly slow for check in and most all the staff did not talk english. talking with a phone translator can be nice, but not in a 5 star international hotel

First of all, I wouldn't recommend staying in Pudong. Everything you're likely to do as a tourist is on the Puxie side of the river. The rooms have a dated feel to them, but the common areas of the hotel are very nice. To me the only stand out part of the hotel was the Health Club. They have a gym, jacuzzis, a Turkish sauna, a Finnish Sauna, and the pool. For an International class hotel, the level of English spoken at the hotel is virtually non-existent. We had to use Google Translate to speak to most of the staff. Check in took about 30 minutes with no line. We reserved two King rooms, but got one King room and one twin room. We didn't want to spend another 30 minutes trying to get this worked out. Whatever you do, DO NOT EAT in the Lobby Lounge. Prices are 3-4 times what you would pay outside the hotel and the food strives to be mediocre. The food isn't made anywhere nearby and will be cold or lukewarm by the time it gets to you.

This hotel is awesome! A Shanghai institution it is just now showing a few signs of needing a refurb after I assume 4 pretty tough years. Nonetheless they have modified their rates to account for this and it is a great bargain in one of the best locations in Shanghai. Enjoy afternoon tea in their wonderful lounge and take a walk on the river just steps away. Also the Super Brand mall with lots of eating options is right next store. Take pictures of the three soldiers, three of the tallest buildings in the world right next door too. All in all a real bargain!!

Shangri-la is a 5star hotel in a great area. Excellent chinese restaurant on property. Outstanding bar on 36th flr. Easy walking to Oriental Pearl tower as well as ferry. Ferry is great way yto access the Bund river promenade. Highly recommended!!!

Breakfast is average, buffet style, but I guess that’s the only option to feed so many people. The location is great, two major mall right across the street, many restaurants and cafes. The property is a bit worn out, no proper bar on the ground floor, only a fancy one on the 36th with a great view though. Internet is ok, but google and .com in general are being blocked.

Family with young baby. Vera good location and easy to access to both a small park and mall just next to the hotel. Stayed with river view, very scenery. Best hotel breakfast so far travelling around China. What I like most with the hotel is how service minded it is. They were all very helpful. They helped me order food via WeChat and when I asked for a later check-out they gave me that. The lobby is beautiful and good space just for a walk inside. Gym with a good river view, the swimming pool looked very nice. I would definitely go back.

The staff were very helpful, respectful, friendly and detail attentive. They were always providing the first rate service - just everyone! I am very much impressed by their eager to meet the needs of the guests. I’d like to mention Nilo in particular. When we were checking out, there was a small issue. He was so patient and helpful. He went extra ways to help, always smiling! The facility is a bit old, with places showing some wear and tear (for example, the carpets may not be the cleanest). But the location of the hotel is superb and the price is reasonable for a five-star hotel.

This is located in a beautiful area, you can walk around and find different high end malls. Hotel is beautiful. Only complaint is that beds are a little small for two. We had a double room and each bed is a little larger than a twin bed, my husband and I were a little tight. My daughter slept very comfortably.

I booked 2 double bed room. Day 1 the staff got us a 2twin bed room and smells bad in the room. I talked to front desk and was able to switch to next door. I’m surprised they got us the wrong room even I talked to the check in clerk and confirming if it is what we booked. Otherwise the service was ok and facility was good.

During my stay around 13 December 2024, I had the pleasure of interacting with two housekeepers on the 17th floor whose service were truly commendable. Their names were 牟爱红 and 刘丽. They were warm, sincere, and attentive—small gestures, like offering me a bottle of water when I returned to my room in the late afternoon, truly stood out. Their positive demeanour and genuine smiles made my experience much more pleasant. Unfortunately, this level of service did not extend to the front desk and entrance staff. The front desk interactions felt rushed, with a cold tone that lacked genuine hospitality. An example was the front desk staff on 14 December who handed me the names of the exemplary housekeepers, highlighting the inconsistency in service. At the entrance, the service appeared inconsistent and unprofessional. The staff seemed hesitant to assist unless the situation demanded it, often waiting until a guest was almost out of the car before approaching to open the door. Moreover, I couldn’t help but notice preferential treatment for guests arriving in luxury vehicles, as the staff were noticeably quicker to assist in those cases. As a guest, I expected a consistent standard of service that reflects the hotel’s reputation, regardless of the mode of arrival or the guest’s attire. It’s disappointing to see such disparities in service quality within the same establishment.

Location is very accessible to metro /maglev. About 8 mins walk to hotel from metro, Lujiacui. Room facing huangpu river and walking distance to the Bund . Oriental pearl tower and Disney store are nearby. Highly recommended hotel. 👍

Awesome property in the middle of the best area of the financial district in Pudong. Many places to eat and lots of good views across the river. You can walk 5 minutes to the ferry to cross to Puxi and walk the Bund All in all a great deal these days at the low rates they are charging.

Nice location, we live at the executive floor facing the bund side. Brilliant view. And can enjoy their club, where th me food quality is good, especially breakfast, much less people than L2. Avoid the crowd and enjoy the food. Facilities a bit old style though.
