Very pretty hotel, great decor, lovely outdoor restaurant and pool area that is ideal for lounging in the sun. Friendly and helpful staff who spoke English. Shower pressure was amazing. Easy walk to the heart of Tlaquepaque. Quiet at night. AC in rooms. Only complaint is that the beds were SO firm.

Quinta Don Jose was even more wonderful than I remembered from the last time! The room was clean and roomy and the breakfast in the morning was to die for. The grounds are beautiful and green, there's a pond where several turtles call home and are not afraid of people.The Tlaquepaque area has many options for shopping and dining. I highly recommend another relaxing stay at the QDJ!

The stay at Quinta Don Jose exceeded expectations. The staff was incredible from check-in to bar service. The arrival drink perk was wonderful and gave us time to chat with staff. The outdoor patio was very welcoming and the room had all the necessary comfort. We appreciated the gated parking for our rental car and the staff accommodated our need to keep our car there while we explored the town after checkout. The hotel is very close to all the attractions and felt very safe walking to and from late at night. We look forward to returning soon!

Our room was extremely noisy with some light trailers thundering down the street all night. The maintenance of the room was poor. The shower had an expose drain that could have cut your foot if you didn’t see it.

Excellent stay. Everyone is very helpful and nice. The room was very comfortable and clean. The fact that they have breakfast included and parking available is also appreciated. I have friends coming in a few months and we’re going to stay here when we go back to Guadalajara. I also want to add that the location is perfect. It’s very quiet and only a block and a half to all the activity in the center of Tlaquepaque. I Highly recommend.

We did find the room damp and the bathroom very small which made everything wet. Furniture could use a good cleaning! Staff are friendly and the restaurant is fabulous. Ate there all three nights! Unfortunately pool is not heated but that’s typical in Mexico. Highly recommend.

I had high hopes for my stay at this highly rated boutique. One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the lack of communication regarding the shuttle service. Despite multiple attempts to confirm the shuttle, I received no response. When I finally reached out to the hotel via this portal, their response was dismissive, as if they didn't believe my claim. To make matters worse, upon arrival, I was asked to provide proof of my previous communication regarding the shuttle. This felt like a personal attack, as if I was being accused of lying. While they eventually offered to reimburse my taxi fare, this gesture felt hollow, as it didn't address the underlying issue of their poor customer service. The hotel itself had its ups and downs. While I appreciated the spacious two-bedroom suite, the noise level was a significant problem. The constant foot traffic from staff walking up and down the stairs outside my window made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, the noise from the laundry room above my room (#7) was disruptive. Or the sound was similar to a washroom. On the positive side, I appreciated the security measures in place, such as the requirement to ring into the facility. The housekeeping staff and breakfast hosts were also very friendly and helpful. However, the front desk staff was inconsistent, with some being more helpful than others. Not a repeat though recommended by my brother who loves staying there.

What a charming hotel! Full of character and "old Mexican" decors. We got room 8, the Frida room. It was super spacious, and the bed was comfy as a dream and huge. I really liked that the room has a water tower so that I'll refill my water bottle and not create more plastic waste. The shower was strong and hot, and AC combined with the ceiling fan gave me a wonderful restful sleep. In the morning we enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel also, fresh fruit and egg dishes, hot refresh coffee. Loved our time here!

Hotel was just right for our one night stay. It is just one block of the best streets in Tlaquepaque. Our room was fine, but we were located at the top of the stairs above the lobby, where we could hear guests talking below. The bathroom was very small. However, I would stay there again, the staff was friendly and helpful and the margaritas were the best!

I have been staying here for almost 15 years. The staff is great and every room is unique. Charlie the bartender has been there for 23 years and is awesome. Even though I only come every year or two, he remembers me every time!

The reception as you walk in is so inviting and friendly. Staff were more than happy to help you in any way they can. Guests were friendly because this place just does that to you. The ambiance was one of inclusiveness due to the friendly staff, a quiet oasis off a busy street, unique and cultural art throughout the facility was amazing. Charley, Rafael, Ivan and Carlos were so accommodating, entertaining and informative. The food in the restaurant was very good. I highly recommend staying in this hotel. You will not regret it.

The staff are wonderful. The location fabulous. Quiet and peaceful for being in such a large city with so many people. I don't like memory foam mattresses so that's the only thing i didn't like. Air conditioning worked very well and lots of english speaking stations. Breakfasts were good and restaurant was very good but dining options in the area were endless.

This little boutique hotel was an amazing find! What truely stands out is the staff! You know when staff members are happy, it shows in their work and their responsiveness to their guests. The restaurants were excellent (evening dining room and breakfast room) and the bar (CHARLIE) was made fun with Charlie's energy.

The hotel had a beautiful atmosphere and was stunningly decorated for Día de Muertos. The location is perfect, too, as it's within easy walking distance of the Tlaquepaque: El Pueblo Mágico. I absolutely loved this hotel and am so grateful for the wonderful experience my dad and I had; it truly made us happy.

Loved all the artistic touches in the rooms and throughout the spaces. Charly and the rest of the staff were great! The breakfast that’s included is delicious and homemade. The pool area is very relaxing, with a waterfall pond feature in the garden (just make sure to get mosquito repellent for the evenings!) The bed was comfy, the shower water pressure was great, each room has a water cooler that was SO nice for refilling water bottles. They also arranged a reasonably priced 4am ride to the airport (with a car that had A/C!!) for us. 1000% would recommend. My only regret is I completely forgot to leave the farewell tips I wanted to leave - guess we have to come back!

My family visits the area a few times a year and ALWAYS stays here. It’s very walkable, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant and bar impress. During each visit we make sure to have at least one dinner at the hotel. They make a delicious steak (amongst other things). Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!
