AVA Resort Cancun - All Inclusive

I loved this place it had everything . It was very safe with two security entrance . The buffets had so many options while the restaurants are amazing . Make reservations for your whole week on the first day . It’s so kid friendly . Water park and kid care . Will be returning next year for sure .

The resort is huge and pristine. It has pools that span the whole resort. Every room has a balcony with an ocean view, which is amazing. The food was top tier and the drinks were great! We didn’t do much other than hang by the adult pool and eat, but the service was great. There wasn’t a lot of entertainment at the adult pool like other resorts have and the DJ was hit or miss with the music but the pool staff was amazing and very attentive. I would definitely return!

Super luxurious, a really big resort with the best pools and food!

Ava is amazing it’s like staying inside of a mall that has everything you can want and more! My family and I stayed for 3 nights after staying at Hyatt Ziva and we all said Ava was the best stay for us. We will be back and we had our own Butler concierge to assist us with our needs during our stay!

Hands down one of the best Family Friendly All-Inclusive hotels. Modern rooms, with hot tub balcony feature & Room Service. Large clean pools with amazing pool side food options & non-stop service. Food options were excellent, even buffets served sushi, real brick oven pizza, seafood & steaks. Unlimited Taco bar was a hit, Kids loved the gelato & crepe stands. In-door activities such as arcade, virtual video games & laser tag. Top shelf liquor at bars. This place is outstanding. I will re-visit.

Absolutely beautiful and thoughtful resort. Just need a few more employees so the organization has follow through and the dinner reservations are timely. Everyone is lovely and happy and helpful. Some opening maintenance issues still need addressing (a couple rooms with leaks, rust starting on outside visible from pool and beach and elevator hallways need paint touchups). We hope to go again next year.

I had an amazing stay at AVA Resort Cancun! The service and staff were exceptional—everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The highlight of our stay was definitely the long saltwater pool. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, with plenty of space to swim or just lounge by the water. Although not all the restaurants were open yet, we still had enough options to try something new every day. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to try the ones we couldn’t fit into this stay. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend AVA Resort for anyone looking for a top-notch getaway in Cancun!

Pool was lovely, many places to sit that were shaded. There was opportunity for a variety of activities. We did an art class. We did kayaking. We did an astronomy class. We did mixology class. We went to the evening shows. The magician show was particularly good and engaging.

Great resort with lots of things to do for kids and adults

My daughter recently had her sweet 16 there and I cannot say enough good things about their concierge they went above and beyond to decorate our room with balloons that we ordered. And it was already there when we checked in despite the short amount of time we requested it. Abigail, I believe her name was even delivered her cake in the restaurant where we ate dinner. She’s excellent! Unfortunately, the downside of our stay was The buffet food was NOT delectable (it sucked)! The restaurants only open for dinner so we have to eat the buffet food. Not a lot of options either. I’ve been to many hotels who have a huge and delicious selections so this one did not impress us at all. Chez MOi was super delicious and became our favorite. The hotel itself is massive and clean. The staff were excellent except for some of the desk receptionists who can improve in their social skilll—a little bit snotty. You cannot swim in their beach. Although they clean it, it still has a lot of seaweed and brownish algae. It reeked when we were there. However, the pool makes up for it. It’s an endless stretched of seawater. The staff on the pool were attentive and helpful. There are some limitations where you can swim bec they segregate the vacation package owners and the regular customers. The spa was amazing. The hotel itself is still under construction so they can still improve. Warning though, they will let you purchase their vacation packages. I was one of them. No regrets. ;)

Clean great staff

For a new resort, the level of cleanliness was shocking. Our room had mold in the shower and the AC barely worked, making it uncomfortable. A portion of the resort seems abandoned, with unfinished ceilings and a strong mold odor in those areas. If you don’t have a reservation, you won’t get dinner—even though this wasn’t clearly communicated beforehand. All the meat dishes taste overwhelmingly like propane, as if drenched in it, making them nearly inedible. The buffet food was undercooked and cold, which raises serious safety concerns. The staff speaks very minimal English, so we constantly had to rely on Google Translate, which made even basic communication difficult. I’ve stayed at over 10 resorts in Cancun, and this was by far the worst. Overall rating: 1/10. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

I was genuinely excited to stay at what was advertised as a 5-star, brand-new resort. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The resort is still under construction, and even the areas that are supposedly completed are already showing serious wear and tear. The construction quality is clearly cheap — things are falling apart before the resort is even fully open. Our room was clean and housekeeping did a great job, but the rooms already have visible dents, dings, and signs of poor maintenance. The hallways smelled awful, likely due to the carpet absorbing moisture from the nearby pools. It had a strong, moldy odor that was hard to ignore. The restaurant experience was equally underwhelming. The reservation process is a hassle — you basically need to book before you even arrive because day-of availability is non-existent. The steakhouse was mediocre, the French restaurant was so bad I left hungry (the shrimp cocktail smelled off, oysters were unavailable, and the remaining options were disappointing). The Italian restaurant was the best — mostly thanks to our excellent waiter. The Mediterranean spot had decent appetizers, but the main dishes were terrible. As for the pools — they were not well-maintained. Lounge chairs were constantly dirty, often covered in bird droppings, and staff around the pool were not attentive. The food offered poolside tasted like it came straight from a microwave. I will not book Ava ever again

Our time at lava Cancun was great. We had some hiccups with the cleanliness of our room at the beginning but once we made mention of this, the public relations team swooped in and got it remedied immediately and were extremely accommodating. I can tell this was not the norm and totally appreciated their service. They also gave us two massages and a personal concierge to assist with dinner reservations or anything we needed. The staff’s customer service is 10/10. Everyone was always willing to help and that made the best impression. The food was okay , I really enjoyed chez moi and boa. Room service is amazing and came in clutch daily. The one negative that I wish I researched prior and came at another time was the seaweed. It is all over the Caribbean and this is the high season. It made the beach unapproachable and the smell was really bad. Outside of that, our family really enjoyed our stay. Special shout out to our concierge Samayra Gaona and the chefs at chez moi -Jesus canto and Angel Jimenez. They were fantastic!

No towels at pool, no plates at dinner, no room cleaning on of the days (I called 4 times). No beach view, only pool view . Food is decent but you will eat the exact same Thing . Feels like a cruise ship on land

Spacious rooms, a abundance of food, drinks and amenities, extremely pleasant and responsive staff, music all day

I will start by saying this is a family resort. The resort is huge!!!!! You will be walking. I went as a single mom with a 4yr old and 12yr old. Why the staff at the resort decided to put me in the south building right on top of a nightclub I have no idea. Every night we heard music until 2am. The water slides and pool activities centered around kids were on the opposite side of the resort so I had to carry my poor 4yr because her little legs couldn’t handle the far distant. The restaurants that serviced the children were also on the other side of the resort. South building houses the adult only restaurants along with the nightclub. I’m still confused why they would assign a mom and two children a room on this side of the resort. On the last night of our stay we got locked out our room (my bracelet no longer worked) we had to wait for staff to let us in the room. The kids club was the best part of our stay. The kids loved it and loved the nice staff. $45 each for the escape room (including the 4yr old) $20-30 each for bowling and laser tag. Overall I would not stay here again because the experience just was not enough for me to return for such inconveniences

Upon our arrival we realized that the resort while nice in most areas, it’s still under renovation. On our first day we finally got settled after our third room assignment. The first room wasn’t clean and the bathroom sink clogged. Later we discovered the shower was also clogged. We were then assigned another room in which the shower wouldn’t get hot. The front desk manager apologized and then assigned us another room. Another downside is from the moment you enter the resort and throughout your stay every employee is trying to sell you something. On one occasion I asked the desk clerk for directions to book a poolside cabana he provided directions and then asked me if I talked to someone yet to hear about the ways to get resort promotions and free services. Several times during our stay we were approached about joining the vacation club. Even on our day of checkout someone approached me and said “sir I see you just checked out. I know one of our agents spoke to you previously, would you like to take advantage of our $1k promotion for another resort?” We’ve stayed in other resorts and did not experience this level of aggressive sales. Most of the employees we encountered within the resort were very pleasant and kind. The food at the buffet was subpar. The food at the restaurants was superb. The pools were wonderful and good vibes. We really enjoyed how the pools were divided by adults only, family, and private members. There were multiple free activities daily. Overall 👍

We recently stayed at your property from and feel compelled to share our experience, which was sadly well below expectations. Check‑in & Dinner Reservation Upon arrival, check‑in took nearly one hour, causing us to miss our dinner reservation. When we requested to secure a later slot, staff couldn’t guarantee it—this was very frustrating after such a long wait. Room Malfunctions & Maintenance Our original room had multiple issues: Our Safe did not work, the sink malfunctioned The managers arranged an upgrade the next day, but the new room was equally dysfunctional Balcony/patio lights remained out, Toilet failed I had to call four times in one day to request assistance—and even then, each response was slow or inadequate. Lastl was the Lack of Hospitality: Housekeeping never refilled our towels or bottled water, even after several reminders. On the last day, we placed a room service order that never arrived, and no one followed up. Overall, it felt like staff were more focused on tips than genuine service, and the resort lacked hospitality, excitement, and attentiveness. Small issues became large inconveniences because the team failed to proactively care. Given the severity and multi‑department nature of these issues—front desk, maintenance, On the last day, we placed a room service order that never arrived, and no one followed up. We were here in march of same year 2025 and let me tell you the service was so much better!

House keeping didn’t drop off the slippers we asked for two times. The five star hotel has very nice decors and design, but the construction quality is pretty mid. You can see watermarks and rusts on the walls of the interior, low quality renovation. Food at the buffet is mid. Restaurants are pretty good (included in your all inclusive but you have to pre book it before 5pm and no one told us during or before checking in) so we actually missed a night’s opportunity. Pools are really for kids. Not great for adult swimming. The pool bottom is like rough surface that could scrape your knees. Overall idk what we really enjoyed in this resort as three adults. Maybe the bar if you like drinking at night.

Room was amazing

Property is new and the rooms are great. All come with a hot tub on the balcony and if you're lucky like we were, you get the large balcony with the large tub. Everything is new so nothing to worry there. Since the property is new, they're still getting the kinks out with service and amenities. Also don't like them hounding you about joining there club which is like time share. Location is not the best, away from the main town and your secluded to only the property.

It is a new minimalist property, it has good service in general, simply the area and the location is not the best for the views of the turquoise sea of ​​Cancun, it is not possible to swim in this sea either.

Every room is an oceanfront room and it was absolutely beautiful

Overall, the property was fine and most of the staff is great. I did not like that I was pulled into a sales pitch for almost 3 hrs when I was told it’d only take about an hour. They labeled it as a promotion to review the “new” restaurant, not an “investment” into the property. The food was not great at all other than their Italian restaurant. They do have a lot of options for dining, but you must have a reservation or else you can’t go in.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. No complaints whatsoever. All staff were super friendly and attentive. They made things easy from start to finish. All food was great as well. Definitely recommend!

Very poor service overall in every area, starting from a slow check in plus they completely ignored our request to have a crib in one of the two rooms we had booked; they tried to sell us a crib by saying they did not have one available anymore (our request was from 1 month earlier) and after our strong complain and after showing the conversations where the hotel was asking me in which room we would have wanted the crib, they immediately found one available. Experienced very long lines at lunch and dinner; restaurants were always sold out an impossible to book one while there (you have to book these restaurants weeks in advance, which we had tried besides we did not receive assistance and answers for weeks before our departure). Pool water was very cold, definitely not ideal for babies. Beach chairs / beds were always “reserved” through towels put on them for many hours each day and with nobody literally showing up to use them .. my guess is the staff at the pool would give you a seat only if you tip them each day or they try to sell you cabanas and the other options available for an extra fee Staff very slow and poor in service / attention Overall just a waste of money and time … there are so many better places within the same budget in Mexico.. Sales people from Legendary Club tried to convince to buy the membership by being very pushy even if we made it clear we were not interested. This resort is not worth its costs.

This resort was amazing and the staff was also amazing! This has truly been a very relaxing vacation I will definitely be back. Because we were expedia guest, we also met an expedia concierge, Rodrigo, who assisted us and checked up on us constantly. I also want to take this time to mention our amazing hotel concierge, JACK, who took care of me and my wife during our stay. He coordinated most of our activities and Maria assisted us with dinner reservations prior to our arrival. It was truly a great stay.

I arrived at 4:40 pm and I was told that Expedia has a private check-in process We wait for the Ava Rep to take us to the private check-in. She takes us over at 5pm and then we wait for 10 minutes, then Ava Rep comes back and says the Expedia private check-in closed at 5pm. Then we had to go back over to the general check-in and had to wait over an hour to check-in our room. The check-in process was very unorganized and way too long. The line in the lobby for check-in was extremely long.Ava needs a better check-in process.

The service stood out. Everyone was so helpful and did an amazing job

The service was superb, best we’ve experience. Samayra our personal assistant was excellent, (GIVE THAT WOMAN A RAISE!) she helped me plan my proposal to my gf and the entire experience was a 10/10! The next day she along with other staff surprised me and my fiancé with a fruit platter and a towel art with beautiful illustrations regarding our engagement’! This resort really pays attention to detail and some of the best hospitality we have seen in a long time. All staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. The amenities were also very excellent! Don’t even get me started on the food! You can’t go wrong with any of the restaurants! Our personal favorite was Chez Moi, a French cuisine restaurant you would think chef Ramsey is in the back. We fell in love with the beef Wellington and the lamb chops! Also a quick shout out to Alex Liborio who helped us with our bags at the end and tracked us down to make sure we didn’t miss our ride back to the airport! Just another example on how amazing ALL staff is here!

Experiencia muy por debajo de lo esperado. El hotel cuenta con buenas instalaciones; sin embargo, consideramos que no tiene la capacidad ni el personal suficiente para atender adecuadamente la cantidad de huéspedes que recibe. A pesar de la amabilidad del staff, el servicio en general no logra cubrir aspectos básicos. Durante nuestra estancia hubo escasez de toallas en el área de la alberca. El servicio de bebidas era muy lento llegaban a tardar más de una hora; además, las bebidas llegaban diluidas. Desde el primer día intentamos hacer reservaciones para los restaurantes y todos los horarios estaban saturados, con disponibilidad únicamente después de las 10:00 p.m., lo cual resulta poco conveniente. La alberca tenía una temperatura muy fría y en la playa los camastros se retiraban muy temprano. El 1° de enero se percibió una reducción importante en personal y en el servicio, la barra de bebidas de la alberca cerró antes de las 2:00 p.m. Se nos insistió varias veces en asistir a una presentación para un programa de membresía, la cual decidimos no tomar. Consideramos que el costo por noche no corresponde a la experiencia ofrecida. Como punto positivo, las camas eran cómodas y la tina en el balcón fue un buen detalle. En general, la experiencia no cumple con las expectativas conforme al precio pagado.

Beach unfortunately was hit with red tide problems. Seems to look like run off from pesticide farming around surroundings…locals stated that problem seems to ne getting worse every year. Beach was too infested with algae and smelled like a sewer. It was breathtaking and bad if you love the beach. The food is average but the service and hospitality of the workers is excellent.

Nice hotel it’s not finished yet too far from everything else and they don’t offer free transportation to and from the airport which is 5 miles away. You can either pay $66 for shuttle or $50 for a taxi.

Resort facilities are amazing. Food is very good. Low on entertainment and seaweed smell is awful. Airplane noise every 5 to 10 minutes. Overall stay was very good.

Overall experience was ok. Limited options for baby food. Not lot many activities for toddlers. During Sept, beach is not really an option. To much seaweed and water stinks.

Resort was excellent it’s a distanced away from everything and transportation is expensive cab ride one way to night life was 50 dollars . they said there a private resort so uber can drop off but not pick up idk didn’t make sense to me. Dinning was a 5/5 only thing I would ask for is more lunch or breakfast options and for them to update the app a few of the hours of operations of dining were off. Great resort if you don’t plan to leave and just enjoy the all inclusive

Nice resort but a bit too far from the main downtown area of Cancun

The resort is beautiful one of the most aesthetically pleasing that I’ve stayed at. However, the food at the restaurants came out cold and was very bland and mid. Same thing with the food at the buffet, room service and pool side service. Overall, the food at the resort was underwhelming, a lot of fancy options that didn’t hit home. There also needs to be louder music at the adult only pool to create a better vibe with a more curated playlist to cater to the adult crowd. There also should be music playing at the bars on the inside of the resort also. Lastly, there needs to be more interactive activities at night catered to adults that last longer than 30 minutes.

BKF EXCELLENT, VARIETY OF FOOS AND FRESH

The food at the buffet where you eat for breakfast and lunch was bland and subpar. The restaurants were good though especially the French, the steakhouse and the tepoanyaki grill. They had a show every night at their theater which we enjoyed. Overall, the hotel was impressive, clean and service was excellent. They will try to lure you to buy vacation packages for their hotel by offering free spas. If you like the experience, go purchase them otherwise, don’t even attend the “ seminar “ for it. You will waste a day of your stay there just for that.

Terrible all inclusive. We were a group of 11 girls celebrating a 40th birthday and 5 girls had food poisoning. They seriously lack basic hygiene for food prep, as this is mentioned in several other reviews dating months back (which we did not see until returning). 90% of the staff are rude and do not care at all. Many do not speak any English. The bars close at 11pm!! You have to walk a mile to the other end of the resort to their club if you want any drinks past 11pm. The adult pool is boring and zero entertainment! This resort fell extremely short for our trip and I wouldn’t recommend it at all. There is NO beach, the water there is full of seaweed and looks muddy. The resort staff also begin projects at 11pm, with scaffolding pulled out and blocking the halls, painting, power tools etc. They try to upcharge you on everything, I’ve never been to an all inclusive that does that. I would never return to this property and unless you want to have a sore stomach the entire trip, I would avoid like the plague.

Good place for family except poorly managed restaurants… every day same food. Seats are not available even after prior reservation ( Copal ) and poor service at Copal. Other restaurants great service but very less variety of food. Same food everyday. A good place which can be made great place with better planning.

Food options are good but really difficult to schedule a restaurant and AC unit had some issues so it was too humid in one room and too cold in other room

I had an amazing experience at AVA Cancun! The food was absolutely delicious with a wide variety of options, and every meal exceeded my expectations. The service was also excellent, Jonathan provided attentive and friendly service. A special thanks to Rodrigo, my personal assistant, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was incredibly helpful in arranging a late checkout for me since my flight wasn’t until 7pm, which made my last day so much more comfortable and stress-free. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Wonderful food, great service, and outstanding staff who truly care about their guests. Highly recommend AVA Cancun!
