Wyndham Garden Hotel Cross Lanes Charleston

It was very run down and dirty. The staff at the front desk was very friendly.

We stayed twice, one night on our way to vacation and one night on our way back, as it was the halfway point. The staff was super kind, but everything else was not great. All the exterior doors had keypads for safety, but not a single one was active. Both nights, the rooms were not the cleanest, you could see firt and build-up in all corners of the room and around the faucets of the sink and bathroom. The floors had some stains and just didn't feel clean when we walked around with no shoes. The walls had patches of peeled paint or drywall mud. The pool room wasn't much cleaner, and the water in the pool looked murky and had debris in it. The second night we stayed, we had to switch rooms because the air conditioner in the first room was broken. It was fine for a quick stop on our way, but not somewhere that I would recommend to others.

Felt safe and sheets and surfaces were clean- but overall hotel was a bit “worn”. Everything was just dingy - they also happened to not have my room set and ready as they had forgotten to lock a room for my reservation so there was a bit of a tense moment at checkin but the sorted it out

Our reservation did not come through from hotels.com to the property. So at midnight after a long drive I was left standing at the desk for nearly 45 minutes. I understand it was not the staff’s fault, but offer me a bottle of water or a chair or take my credit card info, put me in a room, and settle it in the AM. A little friendliness would have helped
