Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton - Guelph

Our room was clean. The breakfast was ok as same of it was cold.like the eggs and home fires. The spa was ok but the pool was terrible and mostly unusable as it had hair and floating stuff in it. Just awful. Staff was outstanding and the gym was nice. We would stay again

The Jacuzzi was wonderful and the staff were exceptional

Check in was smooth. Very kind and helpful staff. Everything was clean except for the pool. Pool was foggy and had flakes that looked like fish food floating on top of the water. Not a lot just a bit. Stayed one night. Breakfast was delicious.

Nice room, good breakfast, pool and hot tub

Very upset that the hot tub was closers and the pool was freezing. This was suppose to be the highlight of our stay. We were very disappointed. I wish the hotel staff would have told us the pool heater has been broken for 2 weeks. This would have made us choose a different hotel.

Only problem was the coin operated laundry.... The front desk does not carry change, and we were left with 2 bags of wet laundry. Surely there should be an override key...or a petty cash/ available change. - otherwise a coin operated laundry is frustrating. The rooms and overnight desk staff were wonderful.

Pool, hot tub and room were great!

The hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was kind even with our kids team. The only downfall was the digital key wouldn’t open all the doors, or the door to the gym, so I still had to carry a regular key. The AC in our room didn’t work either - we had a suite, it worked in the living room but the bedroom only the fan was functioning, no cooling.

The hot tub was under maintenance….everything else was wonderful!!

My only dissapointment was that the spa was not available

Black mold at the bottom of the shower door, took over 5min to adjust water temp in shower, human excrement on the office chair. Too be honest was not expecting this from a Hampton Hotel. Would not return.

The room is very dirty everywhere! Hair everywhere and the bathroom is very dated old and dirty

Solid property, clean and spacious

The location is ok. It had a fast check in but it didn’t feel like part of the Hilton groups of hotels. The pool edge looked dirty and the area around hot tub was dirty as well. Towels were not restocked. Hotel room was ok. Shampoo product was really bad and left our hair very dry. We’ve washed it three times since and it’s still not back to normal. There was no conditioner in the room. The coffee machine had a used pouch from a previous guest. There was only 1 out of 4 of the coffee selection that was not decaf.

Easy access and extremely clean hotel

Very nice, pool area needed to be a bit cleaner, there was chunks of hair in the hot tub. Other than that everything was great!

It was a good location close to restaurants and entertainment. Carpets looked worn and dirty. Smelled like vomit in lobby.

staff was friendly and competent. common areas were clean and welcoming. however the hotel needs some TLC. new or cleaned carpets, cleaner bathroom floors. Hotel looks dated and in need of update.

The room was modern and clean. Comfortable bed (king size), nice desk area, microwave and fridge. Great large tv.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, and I am very impressed with their professionalism and dedication to customer service. The room was horrible. Absolutely horrible. If you have to sleep: do not attempt this hotel. Is was close to $300 to lie there all night as a bright light glared through the blinds. The air conditioning was limited to 20 degrees, despite vast quantities of research supporting much lower temperature for ideal sleep. Noise was an incredible issue, so not really confident how much sound proofing was done to the rooms. I am not confident I slept more than 2 hours, and I have another day with 9 hours of driving ahead of me. It is not effective as a place to sleep, and I am warning anyone who has any sort of driving: do not stay at this hotel. Staff were wonderful, rooms were terrible

Was clean and in good shape. Pillows were uncomfortable and the bed felt like it was going downhill a bit!

I had requested a different room other than the room recommended when I did the digital check-in, which I thought was available. I had requested a handicapped room when I had reserved online because my son is disabled & I was told it was the only clean one available. Arriving after midnight you'd think that by that time all the rooms would have been cleaned and ready. Also, the beds were awful! I'm not kidding! Both beds in the room were lumpy. I've stayed at Hampton Inns in the USA & they have always had very comfortable, firm beds & I've always had a good night's rest. Needless to say, no one in my family slept very well that night. It makes me wonder if the beds in the other rooms could have maybe been better or if they were the same. As for the breakfast, it was just mid. Nothing special. The Hamptons in the States are much better.

I booked a studio suite and was surprised at how spacious it was. There was nothing that I felt that I needed outside the room other than ice. Work station was excellent. There were room darkening shades on the windows. Area was open and bright.

The hotel clerk was not very nice, actually quite rude and unfriendly.

We had a comfortable, excellent stay. The front desk concierge was very friendly, helpful, and wondeful. Easy and quick check-in. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom shower had a buildup of rust/orange mildew (which could easily be removed with a metal scrub-brush to refresh the dated shower) Pool was warm and welcoming. Having a sign for the volume button on the wall to identify it as "music volume" not hottub switch would be helpful. Every guest tried to turn on hot tub using the sound stystem dial. Additionally, turing off some of the bright lights in the pool area in the evening would add ambiance and provide a more relaxing to swim at night. NOTE!! Housekeeping attempted to enter our room WITHOUT knocking at 9:58 a.m. (we made sure to place our door stopper because other reviews said that housekeeping walked in on them as well!) So expect housekeeping to crash your party uninvited. They attempted to enter at 11 a.m. (this time knocking once and then proceeding to try and enter with main key). We checked out at 11:30 a.m. (note: check out is stated for 12 p.m.) The person (I think was management) was friendly who checked us out. They did not ask how our stay was. Hense, having to leave this review. We will return again! We had a great visit! Breakfast was delicious, options plentiful, pool was warm, staff were helpful and fridndly.

A hockey team was staying at the hotel the night we stayed and we were up all night because kids were yelling, running in the hallways and pranking rooms by banging on the doors. We went down to the front desk to ask the staff to put a stop to it, but they couldn't find the parents from the team. There were a dozen unsupervised kids in the room next to us. We were kept up all night right with banging on our door until 5am. The staff did nothing to control the situation. It was by far the worst hotel stay we have ever had.

The staff at the front desk have been wonderful and very accommodating! We’ve stayed here many times and will be back again. Breakfast was great. Coffee is great! Good location and quiet rooms. Stayed in 301 this time and the bed is super comfortable.

Easy to access from north of Guelph

Very convenient area at the north end of Guelph. Would visit again.

Great clean hotel with friendly staff a nice pool and seating area for the free hot continental breakfast which offered a lot of food and good food. Was a great stay overall. Downtown Guelph was only a 10 minute drive away with lots of restaurants and there were restaurants in walking distance from the hotel too.

This is a great location! Lots of restaurants around, close to Costco and movie theatre. It’s also close to Guelph but easy to get to Kitchener. Room was spacious, clean, good breakfast.

Liked that the property is located off the main road enough that its very quiet.

I forgot how much I love Hampton Inns. They’re always so surprisingly great. The hotel is right next to a movie theatre and lots of different restaurants too so we didn’t have to go far to see a movie and eat out.

weekend trip - comfortable and spacious room! I recommend it. Breakfast was included and the selection was pretty good.

My minimum expectation is that coffee is available with breakfast. “Machine broken”. You must have more than one machine to make coffee for these situations or there is a Tim Hortons 200 yards away

We enjoyed our one night stay so much we returned the next night. Breakfast had so many choices and the bacon was cooked to perfection. Waffles had batter options, yum. The staff are what made our visit. So friendly, helpful, and very engaged. Pride in their work came across in every interaction.
