We loved our stay here! We had our dog with us and stayed 3 nights. The staff is great. We used the $2/load laundry and had breakfast every morning. You have to turn in a paper form for breakfast to order what you’d like (bagel, cereal, drink, etc) - and you pick it up between 8-10am in the morning. It’s in a paper bag which makes it super convenient to grab and go on a hike! The pool is nice and they start a campfire on nice nights. So homey! The outdoor space is awesome - we had so much green space to walk and play with our dog. Highly recommend this cute motel!

This place is iconic. At 73 years old, the motel has seen generations of guests - famous and not famous - rich and poor. It's a lovely spot, with a nice pool and an excellent fire pit in the back. Although the amenities are modest, so is the price. For Bar Harbor, Maine, this place is a steal. If you want a quiet and charming place to stay, just minutes from Acadia National Park, I can't recommend the Belle Isle Motel strong enough.

This was our first visit to Bar Harbor and our stay was made that much more enjoyable because of our stay at Belle Isle. The staff was courteous and friendly. The pool was clean and accessible. The room was the same as advertised. We will definitely come back to this motel.

Nice motel style. Outdoor pool and they light a fire every night. I’d definitely go back here. Suggestion: book the room with the larger bathroom. At 6’ tall, I couldn’t really turn around in the shower stall. The larger room also has its own microwave. Breakfast is preordered and cold so you have to heat it up. Outside of that, it’s lovely

Most inconsiderate staff ever : called 36 hours before check in explaining airline lost my luggage and had to delay arrival one day - hotel had no vacancy but staff refused any consideration, tried for days to get manager but they ware only in for less than 15 min and would not return calls. My truck camper bathroom was significantly larger than theirs , shower was super low flow - practically drips out , place is at lease 70 years old and dated, room was tiny, bugs ( flies and spiders in room) , incredibly overpriced for such a dump - I travel all over the US and world for both business and pleasure extensively and have never had such an awful experience at a hotel - do Not stay here!!!

This is a nice place to stop while in the area. The walls were a bit thin, so it was not very quiet. We could hear the person in the next room snoring, and people walking around outside while we were trying to sleep. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly.

We were pleased there was coffee fixings but no coffee cups and the office was not open before we left. We were in room 12 and the cycling of the air conditioner was frustrating. It would come on then immediately go off for about 5 mins. Then it would do the same thing over again all night.

The room upon entrance smelled musty. Located next to the main highway noise was a problem. Even though the room was non-smoking the couple next door smoked sitting next to our room which filtered into our room. The property was very dated. I would not recommend this property. I am a little surprised Expedia has it as a destination.

I’ve stayed here a few times (and will again). The other reviews are still spot on - small rooms, small bathroom and shower but as a place to lay your head while in Acadia, not sure what more you’d really need. Friendly staff, far enough off the road for most rooms to not hear traffic (though you can hear the neighbors). Only reason it’s a 4-star versus previous 5 ratings is that their price is catching up with other “proper” hotels. Whereas before it was a great value, now more a good value. Still recommend!

Motel bas de gamme. On voit le jour dans la porte d’entrée, les murs sont en carton, on entend les voisins parler en distinguant les mots prononcés, on entend le trafic des voitures dans la rue et quand les voisins ferment la porte d’entrer, tu as l’impression qu’ils sont dans ta chambre. Je comparais le manque d’insonorisation au camping sauvage. Les lits sont confortables, les draps et oreillers propres et confortables. La dame de la réception sans sourire ni intérêt face à nous. Nous étions 4 adultes et sommes demeurés 2 nuits. Quand le ménage à été effectué après la première nuit, la femme de chambre n’a pas remis de papier toilette alors nous avions un quart de rouleaux pour 4 adultes, une chance que j’en avais dans l’auto.

A very comfortable motel right off the Highway into Bar Harbor, about a 10-15 minute drive from town. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, a good shower and tub, a coffee maker, microwave and fridge in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a bagged breakfast you pick up from reception and eat at the picnic tables or in your room or on the road, so not great but saves time. My only suggestion would be to have some real milk pods in the fridge for the coffee (or available at reception on check-in). Overall a lovely stay.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing as it was a brown paper bag you picked up in the office. The night before you select what you want from the options they list. What you get the next morning is a surprise. Ordered toast from the list of options, but it was a slice of plain bread with no way to toast it. Steps into the office are impossible for folks with mobility difficulties. Saw more than 1 person struggle with them and 1 person who was unable to navigate them at all.

The breakfast arrangement was a little strange. After checking off a few standard continental breakfast items from a list, you had to go to the office and pick it up in a brown paper bag the next morning at 8 am. Main entrance poorly marked and lighted at night. It was pitch dark and we had to make a left turn from the highway. I missed it and almost caused a major accident with passing and oncoming traffic.

The rooms were cute, clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice. The only disappointment was the breakfast. I was not expecting much since it was “grab and go”, but it’s basically what you get from a gas station. We also ordered the day before and we didn’t get anything close to what we ordered. When I inquired, I was told, ‘oh, we’re out of things’. I know it’s shoulder season but some communication around that when I picked up the food would have been nice. This would not keep me from staying there again, I just wouldn’t count on breakfast. We went out.

This was a great spot to spemd to nights on the island and pretty close to everything. They dont offer a hot breakfast, instead they give you a wide range of options in a bag that you pick up on the office amd bring back to your room or eat out on picnic tables. Their is a microwave in the community room theybyoubare able to use. I only wish you didnt have to wait until 8 am to get the food. But otherwise a delightful stay. Thank you
