Holiday Inn Mobile Downtown Historic District by IHG

They are renovating the lobby until January 2026, so there is a tiny mess related to that work, but overall, it is a very pleasant place to stay. happy Hour in the Skyview Lounge on the 17 th floor overlooking Mobile Bay adds to the fun.

Was nice for one night. A bit loud at times. Also no idea parts were under construction. Parking was extremely limited and tight.

It’s a quiet place but really needs improvement —the pool doesn’t look good —the gym facilities need new equipment —my room : the shower/toilet room is small and uncomfortable. —the floor was sticky —the bed is very comfortable, room spacious —the windows are very dirty (outside)

It was a nice hotel convenient walking distance to most of the museums and the convention center. The hotel was having renovations.

The property showed quite differently than the photographs presented online. Overall an adequate hotel, many amenities are outdated and could use an update or some love. No seating at the pool whatsoever - very different than the posts online.

There should have been information on the website that let visitors know that there was very limited onsite parking. As the large yellow signs says as you enter the main lobby; free parking is not guaranteed.

Clean. Parking is terrible! There is not enough free parking. If you can’t find free parking in the hotel’s parking lot, you have to pay $10 per day to park in the parking deck across the street. I paid enough for the room that I shouldn’t have to pay for parking unless it’s valet. Someone left a dirty diaper in the parking lot (I understand that staff cannot control that), and it stayed there for several days. It was less than 100 feet from the front door. Staff should’ve picked it up.

Nice place just not enough parking

After booking at another hotel and it not meeting standards, we changed to this hotel was beautiful even with renovations being done. The Skyline Bar on the 17th floor was awesome! The bar tender was a great mixer and knowledgeable about the area. Our room was great and very comfortable.

Friendly staff, good location and the room was in good shape. The top floor bar/lounge was closed one night and mostly had a sold out party the next. Also the pool was closed. There was no warning about either when booking the hotel.

Front staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. They even asked if I was an IHG member unlike other chains where you have to let them know. The rooms were fine, the bathroom floor was very sticky. Otherwise beds were comfortable. There was a dirty bath towel that was left in the bathroom. I would suggest more attention to cleaning the bathrooms. The lounge was nice for a drink but very outdated. Beautiful view but limited on some drinks. I believe you could refurbish the lounge and update to a moderate beverage list. They did not have Cabernet and the Pinot was a single bottle that was a lower quality. The overall hotel was dated, needs a refurbishment to look modern. Bathroom in the lobby level had wallpaper peeling off. The breakfast needs to be revamped as well. The buffet was scarce and not appealing as well as the staff members. Presentation goes a long way. The 2 ladies at the front desk were amazing and professional looking. The staff in the dining area were far from professional looking and will turn people away in disgust Really the staff at the front desk is the saving grace for this rating I would highly suggest a refurbishement of the hotel to make it modern looking and definitely clean up the dining area with some standards for the employees and food. Professionalism and standards go a long way. Otherwise it will turn guests away. I barely ate due to the disgust itwould be a great hotel for guest taking a cruise and I would suggest if it had those updates

Property was conveniently located downtown. The room was very neat and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The Hotel needs repair, outdated and parking is extremely limited. I had no choice but to park 2 blocks away street parking. While across the street was parking deck. The room was clean but bathroom floor was dirty, needed to be mopped. the was comfortable

The staff was great! However, the property wasn’t the cleanest. It looks like they are doing renovations so hopefully this will change. The carpets in the rooms weren’t very clean. There was a mildew smell when I entered my room.

Lobby has a stale old odor, as did the 14th floor hallway. The room also had an odor. Likely the carpeting. The vacuum obviously doesn’t have enough power to clean properly. Pulled back the sheet to check for bedbugs. No bugs but many black hairs stuck to the mattress pad cover - GROSS!

Room was very clean and staff was very friendly!

Our overall stay was okay. The room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a big disappointment. It was so small that you could hardly move around. The lobby was under construction but the check in process easy. This hotel is old. Not much you can do about that. But the location is excellent for the business district and for night life activities. Housekeeping and the front desk gets the highest rating.

Amazing beds ❤️ Love the location and although it’s an older hotel it is well kept and the comfy beds make up for it!

Rooms could use some refreshing.

Poor soundproofing on windows / rooms. Located next to noisy extraction fans which were on through the night. Staff excellent

The A/C would not cool the room lower than 75 degrees

Very nice staff. I was a little disappointed with the condition of my bathrrom. Door chipped and scratched and shower fixtures not properly installed. The location was great and the hotel has good potential. Side note,I requested a quiet room and was put directly across fromthe elevators.

Accommodating staff. Great bed and linens. Nice sized room. Two blocks from Conti where a lot of restaurants and bars are. FREE parking. Fun bar on the 17th floor. Hot water in the shower. Quiet.

It was in a great location, lots of restaurants to walk to near by however, the rooms are situated in a circle around the elevator and ice machine and it’s impossible to get away from the noise. It was incredibly loud and very hard to get any rest.

Overall great stay! I have nothing negative to say. We stayed on the 6th floor and had a nice view of the city and the room was spacious.

The room was fine. Interaction with the staff was good

Not very safe. We checked in for a 4 night stay, on day 2 we were sitting in the room when the door opened with a key and another family walked in. They had been given keys to our room. We asked multiple times for housekeeping and could never get our room cleaned. One day we asked at least once and hour until they told us house keeping had left for the day. It was close to other things and you could walk from the hotel. Parking is free if the lot isn't full.

Just amongst the service and the workers.. we just stayed away until it was time to sleep. The front desk workers were horrible.

This was Mardi Gras weekend and this staff went above and beyond with a hotel completely full! The service was great! The people in every area were severely overworked but did it with enthusiasm and smiles. I know they were all beat! We had to wait o er an hour and a half to check in but they were working tho get everyone in as fast as they could. The restaurant had a great breakfast. We love staying here. Especially during Mardi Gras, just walk out the door to all the parades.

Spacious and very clean room, very friendly reception staff

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Just done construction but can’t really fault the for trying to refresh and improve. Rooms were very clean.

Staff was helpful and professional

Lobby smelled bad. Doors locked to lobby at 9:00 pm but staff ignored us knocking to get and yelling to get in - they just sat there staring and talking on their cell phone. no signage telling you what to do or where to go to get in. Front desk person finally looks over and guestures gestures for us to jump up and down and wave our hands to trigger a sensor that is aimed to high.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for the purpose of my visit to Mobile. I thought the bathroom could have been cleaner. The floors didn't seem clean and the mirrors were not well cleaned. I would have rated my stay 5 stars except for the condition of the bathroom.

This is an older hotel but it is clean and the new mattresses are great! The location is great for staying downtown near all activities and restaurants. The staff has been helpful and friendly.

Easy access and close to cruise terminal.

Weekend getaway away from the kids for our anniversary. We did artwork and the boat show. Walked everywhere we needed to go! Even the drug store.

The hotel was clean and as for the room as well. Friendly staff. The only downfall is outside the hotel there are homeless people asking for money and could potentially lead to assaults.

Nice room. hotel is under renovations. Staff was very nice. Excellent location close to downtown and all the attractions.

All staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The location was perfect! What a beautiful area. My only complaint would be parking! I worry that elderly or someone with few technical skills would have difficulty paying for parking.

The breakfast wasn't worth the money we had to pay for it; I like the Express' breakfast much better.

There was a 300 person wedding on the Saturday evening of the afternoon we checked in. All of the hotel parking was filled, however there was a parking garage directly accros the quiet side street. That was handy. I assume there would be plenty of parking normally. The restaurant was good. We enjoyed our dinner. The handicap room with two beds was nice. Two beds in a handicap room is hard to find. Hotels need to start using short platforms or none. These 18 inch mattresses are high enough on their own.

Everything was nice and clean. Restaurant served an awesome angus burger and there is bar onsite if you just want to hang around the hotel.

Was disappointed the sky view lounge was closed for private party. That was one of the reasons I booked the hotel

Nice location. Walkable to historic Dauphin St. booked for bar and restaurant onsite and they were disappointing. Nice staff but limited menu and no effort into bar space. Looked forward to the view but bar windows were filthy. Clean. If you’re not looking for good and drinks, great option.

Business trip to Mobile—easy access to the convention center, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is very roomy and comfortable/clean with a lot of amenities like onsite restaurant and Skybar. Two negatives: no morning coffee unless you wait and get a table in the restaurant. In room coffee isn’t good anywhere. Second negative is the parking. Only a handful of parking onsite and then you have to fight for paid parking along the street or across the road in the parking deck. Wouldn’t have been a big deal but it was storming. Otherwise we are repeat customers here and the staff is awesome!
