Had a great stay at the hotel. Rooms were great sized (king suite with hot tub). Out back theres yard games, small beach and a patio to enjoy the spectacular views of the lake. Big pool area for a great time indoors.

AmericInn was perfect for our needs, we boated all day so it was lovely to come back to the hot tub, sauna and pools. The only issue was the breakfast was very light. Peanut butter and jam would be great for the English muffins. Bananas would be lovely. The front desk gentleman was a nice, happy guy.

We loved the games and activities set up outside of the hotel on the lake side! It was a great place to stay for a family. The rooms were nice and large, and the kids had fun in the pool area as well as in the back lawn area.

Enjoyed the pool(s), beach, and outdoor games for kids. Everyone had a fun stay. Property and rooms are getting a little dated. Concern that they're falling slightly behind on upkeep (no dock or waterslides anymore, several arcade machines don't work).

Overall it was a great place to stay and we would love to come back! Clean hotel, room, and swimming area. The continental breakfast room was great too. There is no pool bar anymore just FYI if that matters to you (they still advertise it on here). No biggy to us, we still had a lot of fun in their pool area. They had fun outdoor games too. Unfortunately I do think the photo slideshows for the different rooms need to be updated for accuracy. We were really excited about booking a room that showed a jacuzzi tub, but we did not get one. We were told we did not book the right type of room, even though there was a jacuzzi tub photo included in the slideshow of the type of room we booked. We were bummed about that.

It’s overpriced! The hotel is dated, needs upgrade. The room we stayed in was room 231, it’s supposed to be presidential room but nothing presidential about it. One good thing about it is the lake view from the balcony. The room could use a deep cleaning. Drawers need to be vacuumed and wiped dirty particles out. The shower drain is not working properly, the water will build up in the tub while you’re showering because it drains very very slow. The room smells like mildew or musty. It’s not worth $219 a night. Will not recommend this hotel at all if you are particular with cleanliness. The elevator was not working during our check out time.

Hotel was poorly maintained. Room smelled of mold and bathtub was very slow to drain. Hotel only had maid service every three days so hallways had bags of trash in them that staff did not pickup. Eggs and sausage at free breakfast were runny/raw.

The price of this hotel compared to the quality is why I am rating it two stars. It was the fourth of July weekend when I stayed, so I understand the increase in pricing. However, this hotel was very rundown and something you might expect to pay $80 per night to stay at. We paid 259 per night to stay here. I have paid less per night to stay on property at Walt Disney World so the price shocked me once I arrived. The bathroom had rust and stains throughout. There were two body wash dispensers, no shampoo and an empty conditioner dispenser. The room was mostly clean when we arrived but very dusty. The lighting was even more dim than you would expect from a hotel. We did not utilize the pool, but that did look very nice from the outside. Overall, I would not stay here again if I returned to Ashland for vacation.

Nice beach but an overpriced dog kennel! Room reeked of mold and dog piss! Carpets were damp and bathroom floor covered in condensation! Slip hazard also! Couldn't wait to get home and shower! Wife now has upper respiratory sickness!! Bed was good! Breakfast was good! Room has to have mold!!

We had 5 people in our party so we needed to use the pull out sofa bed. When we went to open it, we realized that the pull out bed was broken and once we had tried to pull it up, it was stuck half open. The staff had no solutions for us and we were only offered a 15% discount on one night. (We were staying 2 nights.) One of our party had to sleep on the couch cushions on the floor. Would not recommend.

We stayed at this hotel September 2025. Immediately after walking in to our room, there was a bad musty oder. We turned the air on and that seemed to help at bit. After arriving back from dinner, it was cold so we turned the heat on low and the smell was horrible. Terrible nights sleep. Early the next morning we asked to be moved. The man at the front desk was so kind and got us a different room right away. The hotel is very old and could use some updating. Would not stay there again!

Beautiful area. Key cards rarely worked, our party had to get new ones at least 10 times. Property in disrepair, maintenance request was worthless. Breakfast was very low quality. Staff new of the issue but did nothing to resolve. I will definitely stay somewhere else next time.

Our stay was okay, we stayed for 4 nights and only got the room cleaned once, when it was cleaned out Roku Remote (that we brought from home) went missing. We reported it to the front staffthat night and he said he would look into it. In the morning when we were going to check out I asked about the remote and the front desk staff said he had no idea what I was talking about. The pictures of the swimming area aren't updated, so it was a little disappointing. Disappointed with our stay, will not stay again.

We were not given the room we had reserved. Luckily they still had one left so we were able to move. Then we went online and the room was much cheaper than what we had paid for it. The room was outdated and the bed was so hard. The staff never told us about breakfast or the pool…we had to research everything ourselves. It was like they did not want to be working. They were never at front desk. You always had to ring the bell. I won’t stay there again.

When i discovered that the toilet kept running in my room, they quickly moved me to another room that was even nicer than the first! Water views were awesome and the Belgium waffle with strawberries and whip cream for breakfast was amazing!! Will return.

If you’ve stayed at AmericInns before, this one is pretty much like the others. Beautiful view of LakeSuperior and the shoreline is right out the door! There’s also a small water park attached but they are in the process of taking out the slides and it was only open on weekends. The property is located on the edge of town, but dining is just a short drive away. Check out BlackCat coffee and Ashland BakingCompany for goodies in town!

The private beach and patio were amazing! The hotel even provided bug spray and sunscreen outside for guests! The room was also spacious and the gentleman at the front desk was kind, polite, and helpful. We also enjoyed the awesome view of the lake from the breakfast room. However, the bathroom tile floor in our room was cracked and not the cleanest. And the breakfast area was cramped, with several items (like cream cheese for bagels) out of stock.

It is a hidden gem with exceptional staff. They are doing their best to stay afloat like too many places are. The building is aged yet they do their best with what they can. The necessity of fresh linens and towels. The renovation of their breakfast area was a hidden gem with still fresh waffle toppings, resl whipped cresm and homemade biscuits & gravy! Staff are keeping the area top-notch.

We were not aware that the hot tub did not work when we booked which was disappointing, especially after a 12 hour drive,also the channels on the TV pixelated the whole time thus we could not watch a show and when we went down for breakfast the coffee was empty, the eggs were almost empty and the sausages were gone, we looked for someone in the breakfast area to make them aware of the lack of product but could not find anyone. We ended up going back to the front desk to let them know. The caulking around the bathtub in our room was in desperate need of a re-do. The beds were comfortable and cleanliness was pretty good.
