This is the nicest hotel I have stayed at in years. Everything is top of the line, the beds are so comfortable, the views, restaurants and amenities are fantastic. The gym is incredible too!! The staff is super friendly, the turndown and lavender satchel was great! I could go on and on, but I would make a trip back just to stay here again! I highly recommend!

The views from the hotel were amazing. We could see the ocean from our room, from the pool and jacuzzi, and best of all, from the rooftop patio with warming firepits and comfy seating. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Beautiful hotel but still working out its "bugs." In-room phone inoperable so had to repeatedly go to the front desk for room service, parking valet, etc. Engineer unable to get the phone working. Confused waiters in the restaurant leaving us almost 30-minutes before twice asking for assistance. Plumbing in the shower roared like a freight train because of vibrations in the pipes. In-shower seat was separating from the wall. Details matter. The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. One thing I really resent are the "resort fees." These are $50 daily charges for...what? The pool and gym which most hotels provide without an extra charge? And the fees are taxed, too. Why not just build these fees into the room rate and not offend guests with this unpleasant and unfair add-on? It's not a matter of affording them—we certainly can—but it's a bad practice. That said we might consider another stay in the future. The location is wonderful! But, the performance could use some adjustments.

My husband I stayed at La Bahia for one night just a weekend getaway. It was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The moment I arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was beautifully designed , spotlessly clean, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful details such as quiet night pillow mist ❤️ that made the stay feel special. Staff was great. Room not so. 1. the sofa is small and uncomfartable and on wrong side of room to watch TV when not in bed. 2. Curtains need to be pulled from other side so that the rooms on the side could not look into our 430 room. 3. Need wastebasket in bathroom. 4. Need a second stand for putting suitcase on. 5. Room is very spartan.

As a local, we watched this prime Santa Cruz lot sit unused for many years. It's finally developed and they did an amazing job. This is a huge upgrade for Santa Cruz. There's nothing in town that competes. It's upscale without being tacky or pretentious. We stayed in their most basic room and it was still impressive. The pool area is sublime. It's a great addition to Santa Cruz!

We had a deluxe ocean view room, but the room was so far away from the ocean, it wasn't quite worth the price. The hotel is very nice and we did get a complimentary bottle of wine, sodas, and taffy/popcorn, however it does seem over priced. Including valet parking which is $50/night. This was a one time splurge.

Yes partially. There was a mix up with our room type, ocean view. We had booked a 1 night on hotels.com. Premium king - full ocean view. We checked in and they assigned us to a room 3rd floor with view to the swimming pool. We called and discussed it with Matthew, front desk Manager. Came back down and Matthew worked on getting us another room, #605, partial ocean view. He was very attentive, decisive and committed to make our stay memorable (celebrating my wife's birthday and our anniversary). Since we had paid more for an ocean view he compensated us with a credit on our account and a nice bottle of wine. Outstanding service and delivery.. We love this hotel, overall experience, we will be big supporters of this property and will recommend it to all our friends.

We randomly found this hotel while looking for a place to stay on our way down to Big Sur, and it turned out to be such a wonderful surprise. The view was beautiful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The low Google Map reviews initially made me a little hesitant, but don’t be spooked by them — the hotel is VERY new so maybe that’s why, our experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The lobby and common areas are tastefully decorated, and the valet parking and EV charging options are convenient (there’s also street parking if you prefer). The Le Labo amenities were a lovely touch, and the turn down service amenities were so nice! There are cozy seating areas with views and fire pits, and we were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco upon arrival. The layout is also very convenient, with multiple access points that make coming and going easy with your room key. Lastly, a huge thank-you to the staff for going above and beyond — my dad accidentally left something behind, and they quickly found it and shipping it to our home. Truly outstanding service and hospitality!

The minute we pulled into the valet, the great service began. The bellman was very friendly, offered information and explained how things worked in the room. We were able to check in a little early and offered a glass of champagne upon arrival. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! We will be back.

The room and hotel were excellent and extremely clean. I wasn’t crazy with the food service so we only experienced it once. If we stayed again I would try it one more time.

Wonderful property, great and very helpful staff. Loved the spacious room and big bathroom, and patio with seating. Details in room and throughout hotel are beautiful! Enjoyed our dinner at High Tide, and Low Tide.

We had an oceanfront balcony room We were blown away by the room and the amenities that were offered Everything about the hotel is new, fresh, beautiful The employees were excited to greet us and help us. Room svc was outstanding The barista was so nice and helpful to share her favorite places in the area Great tip to see the redwood forest state park that was only about 20 minutes from the hotel Bkfst was delicious Kobe burger and Parmesan fries were delicious from room svc but a bit expensive I’d love to come back and stay longer Great views of the sea and the sand volleyball courts

Very nice place in excellent condition with excellent staff. My only critiques are that due to the design, there is little privacy for the rooms overlooking the pool. If you are on your balcony, you are on display for at least 75% of the other rooms. Also - the heated spa is located on a raised platform in the middle of the area - it seems almost like you're onstage, Any conversations that took place in the spa were distinctly heard on my 5th floor balcony. Since children love the spa, it was quite noisy at times.

Andrew at the reception desk was amazing…he aranged rose petals all over the room and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate my wife’s birthday when we got back from dinner… I do have a complaint about the woman at the desk out side the low life on Monday morning…we arrived for breakfast at 10:30 and were put on a waiting list she said would be 25 minutes…well we ended up being called for a table at 11:35… I had checked with the hostess about would we still be able to get breakfast…she assured me we would…we ordered breakfast and 10 minutes later a woman who identified herself as the manager notified us “that chef had thrown out the eggs. “ and we could no longer have breakfast and all she could do was say she apologized…I have never been treated so disrespectfully ….
