Food was good, the workers were awesome. Only thing is the pools are very dirty as if nobody cleans them.

This property was hands-down, the most insanely relaxing spot we’ve ever been. It would be so easy just to never leave the property. The restaurant is incredible! It has a rooftop pool, swim up pool and cabanas that are available for any guests. There is a walk to a little market and it’s a very quick trip to town or the bioluminescence. Highly recommend 1 million stars!

Great experience at this Hotel. The property is new and the food was exceptional and so was the staff. The hotel could have more shaded spaces as the few cabanas and umbrella seats were always taken and the UV index hit 12 during the day. Holbox is a developing island and as such both neighboring properties were construction sites, banging, grinding, sawing from 8am-7pm. We learned to ignore it after a while but it wasn’t as relaxing as it could have been.

Hotel is an excellent small boutique Hotel east of the center of town making it more low key which I enjoy. We had the room with the rooftop private palapa, loved it, the hotel is very Boho Chic, service was warm, friendly, attentive and the hotel offers kayaks and bikes. Food was great and overall you feel a great energy and vibe on the property.

The property is stunning! The rooms, the pools, and the best part was the third floor terrace. They only bad thing is that the beach it’s accessible we had to walk to other hotels for the beach

El lugar es muy lindo , la habitación increíble y , lleva repelente de mosquito lo vas a necesitar , la ubicación es súper linda si quieres ver un atardecer increíble y la playa está libre de sargazo

El hotel boutique es muy lindo en sí, cuentan con buenos restaurantes sin embargo, nos toco un cuarto "swim out" y la realidad es que no tenia manera de hacer salida directa del cuarto hacia la alberca, quisimos hacer el cambio porque al final buscabamos tener esa facilidad pero no se pudo debido a la disponibilidad del hotel. Todo esta muy cerca y se escucha en las habitaciones de planta baja, la gente entra a las albercas temprano e igual el volumen de la música, nosotros tuvimos un inconveniente que en la noche habia un grupo ya eran pasados de la 11pm y seguian con musica, tenian un poco de bulla y en el relglamento indica que todo cierra a las 9 o 10pm sin embargo, hablamos con alguien de recepción y se pudo solucionar despues de unos minutos.

Awa was amazing! From the beautiful rooms to the rooftop pool, the cabanas, the staff, the food, everyone went above and beyond to make my stay a great one. Now, this is Holbox, it is not a party island and everything is a bit higher here when it comes to food and drinks. Having said that, I didn’t have one bad dish and I tried breakfast, lunch and dinner here. If you’re a heavy drinker you won’t like the drink prices but I picked up a wine bottle at the airport and had it for dinner everyday. If you’re looking for a peaceful vacation this is the place and I can’t wait to go back!

Hotel bom e lindo! Uma mistura do rústico praiano e bom gosto em cada detalhe. As pessoas que trabalham no hotel são simpáticas e prestativas. A vista do por do sol deste hotel é magnífica! Só não dei 5 estrelas por alguns pontos a melhorar. A piscina é muito fria, pois fica ao redor do hotel e não pega sol, ficando praticamente vazia o tempo todo. Sugestão ao hotel, climatizar a piscina. As duas camas do quarto que ficamos são de pedras e possuem umas quinas irregulares e perigosas, sendo muito fácil tropeçar e cair. Eu mesmo tropecei algumas vezes. Fomos com crianças e atenção era constante. Sugestão ao hotel: nivelar essas quinas, para diminuir os riscos a idosos e crianças. Tem uma varanda com uma banheira, sendo que a banheira fica muito próxima a corda de proteção da sacada, que não protege nada, pois uma criança passa fácilmente pelo vão (grande) entre as cordas. A sacada deveria ter cordas mais fechadas uma entre as outras, para não trazer riscos aos hóspedes com crianças, como eu. A altura é grande e um acidente pode ser fatal. Acredito que este item mereça extrema atenção do hotel. A água da banheira também não aquece, o que também torna desmotivador utilizá-la. O restaurante do hotel é excelente, comida realmente boa, mas o preço é alto e diferente do praticado nos demais restaurantes da mesma categoria e que ficam na região do centrinho ou perto do hotel. Acabamos não consumindo muito no restaurante do hotel. Alinhando esses pontos o hotel seria 5 estrelas

Desde que llegamos a el hotel la recepción era muy sucia y sin personal. En el checkout también estuvimos más de 10 Minutos esperando a alguien que lo realizara. La comida muy sucia nos tocó pelos y animales muertos lo cual es inaceptable para mi la verdad cero recomendable y en la habitación teníamos cucarachas. Ojalá mejore porque no es lo que promete tiene mejores opciones en la isla que este hotel en general no vuelo al hotel y no lo recomiendo

Muy buen servicio. Precio razonable. No destaca por su limpieza en recámaras y alberca. Destaca y sobresale por el trato de su personal y calidad en la comida y bebidas. Lástima que había hormigas dentro de la recámaras y las coladeras de regadera y lavabo estaban obstruidas. (estas 2 fallas se puede arreglar rápido) en general fue buena la estancia

The hotel was badly affected by a storm a week before we arrived that washed out the beach club and put the pool out of commission. Despite this, the room was really clean and tastefully decorated with one of the comfiest beds ever. The staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable in spite of it being a really difficult time for them. The work that they put in to restore the hotel was phenomenal and the food absolutely delicious. While the circumstances (beyond their control) were not ideal, they made it a brilliant stay. A special thanks to the management team who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Really highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is beautiful and our room view was stunning. However, there was a very bad smell coming from the toilet when we arrived. The staff was all wonderful, but the one thing we did not like is that we visibility saw our room ready and they would not permit us to go into the room until 3pm. They kept repeating that 3 pm was the checkin time, but even at 3 pm exactly they didn’t give us the room. It’s not easy to get to the island. You fly into Cancun, then drive for 2 hours and then you need to get a boat or ferry for another 20 minutes to get to the island. And they did not even try to give us our room a little bit earlier. We arrived around 1:30 pm. I have travelled to many places in the world and I have never seen a hotel not give earlier access to a room if it was ready. They kept saying that housekeeping wasn’t finished but we had a clear view of the room and the only thing that housekeeping did when she walked in was clean the door. This is why this hotel isn’t getting 5 stars.

El hotel es espectacular, el servicio y comida excelentes… como área de oportunidad les diría limpiar el sargazo acumulado y limpieza en las paredes de la hab ya se estaban sucias y fumigar ya que me apareció una cucaracha dentro de la hab.

The esthetic of the hotel itself was amazing! The walk into pool from your patio was perfect and convenient . The beach side was clean and never too crowded, the water was absolutely beautiful & warm! The food there was pretty good, but pricey . There is a restaurant directly across from the hotel with better more authentic food and more reasonably priced , I would recommend going there instead . The Rooms were esthetically pleasing , but very small and the lighting was terrible. It only had 2 small mirrors , the only 2 full body length mirrors were found outside by the pool/ restaurant. Unfortunately the rooms always felt damp and humid & the rooms smelled awful!!!! Everytime we came back to our room it smelled like Seward gas. We tried covering all the drains with towels but it never helped! Overall the hotel was cute & the staff was friendly. Holbox is a beautiful place and recommended everyone going ! The rooms themselves could have been better . I still can’t get over the smell and how uncomfortable the beds & pillows were.

This is a gorgeous hotel will excellent service. Their beach club was beautiful and had plenty of seating, including cabana use for guests. Carlos took great care of us every day along with the rest of the staff. We felt so pampered! Food and drinks were so fresh and delicious, nothing like the mega resorts in Cancun. Holbox is still a developing area so be patient with the property as they work through the maintenance difficulties, though we were always comfortable despite some small hiccups with the water that they addressed efficiently and quickly.

Beautiful view from the room, super friendly staff, and lots of different pools and restaurants nearby to choose from. We found the food at the hotel to be fresh and delicious. The location was great, only a 15-20 min walk from the centre.

Balkongen på vårt rum var dessvärre alldeles för liten så man kunde inte nyttja det. Men annars var utsikten mycket fin.

La habitación cuenta con una agradable decoración y unas bonitas vistas al mar. Sin embargo le hemos encontrado dos grandes pegas si lo que quieres es descansar: 1) La música del bar se oye como si el bar estuviese en la habitación (salvo cuando bajan el volumen), pues es probablemente la habitación más cercana al bar. Lo hemos solucionado saliendo a tomar algo por el pueblo desde el atardecer hasta las 23h. 2) Todas las mañanas, entre las 7 y las 8, durante unos 5 minutos, suenan fuerte todos los desagües, especialmente el de la ducha (que está junto a la cama separada por una cortina), del que sale agua y olor (no malo, pero tampoco agradable).

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at AWA Holbox and actually got engaged in our room, with fizz on the beachfront balcony. The bath on the balcony is just amazing and I loved it. The bed is super comfy, the room spacious and air con great. Lovely rooftop and nice pool around the bar. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and eager to hear how our stay was. The only couple of minor 'cons' were the nearby constructoin which one night went on until 10pm - thi was outside of the hotel;s control and they were apologetic. Another totally out of their control was the smell of the rotting seaweed which apparently is common in Holbox directly after the rainy season. The staff were up very early cleaning and scraping it off the beach each day. We will most definitely be back though - incredible. The hotel is about a 15 min walk into the town centre or a very quick golf cart taxi that cost 150 pesos.

The room is quite small and lacks a lot of amenities (no fridge, no slippers, …) We booked a room with ocean view, it’s more bar/restaurant view with a glimpse of the ocean. The room is not soundproofed, we were woken up by the noise and the discussions from the room next to us at 6am followed by the noise from the renovation/construction workers. What a good way to start a supposed to be relaxing vacation. The value for money isn’t there, the hotel is aspiring to be a luxury hotel, without putting the means and efforts to get there. The beach is few centimeters deep, which isn’t ideal for swimming. Also you only have 8 beds for all the hotels guests and visitors. The only positive note of this stay is the fuego restaurant, the food is amazing, so is the staff. Although, be ready to get invaded by flies while eating.

I love this hotel. The decor, service, food, and vibe. The rooms are spacious and just like the pictures. The beds are super comfortable, loved the sheets and duvet. The water pressure is definitely one of the very best in Mexico. The hot water is endless and the rooms are very very clean. Everyone is very pleasant. It’s a quiet hotel which is nice. They accommodate families and couples. We stayed in a Deluxe Room with Ocean View and you can see from the pictures it had a spectacular view of the moon at 6:30 am. The sunset in Holbox is one of the best and you can see it very well from the beach in front of the hotel. You have to check the time and be there before because it happens within a few minutes. And by a few I mean 3 mins when it’s touching down into the water. This is a newer hotel so it’s on the other side of the island further away from all the older original hotels. The beach isn’t quite as nice as the strip just before Punta Mosquito but it’s one of the only nice hotels on the waterfront and you can walk to the part of the beach you like the most. Holbox is totally walkable so I’d stay here again over the older hotels. Great experience!

Mi estancia en AWA Holbox fue muy buena. El hotel es moderno, cuidado y con un ambiente muy tranquilo, perfecto para desconectar del caos del día a día. La ubicación es excelente: a pie de playa, con ese mar turquesa típico de Holbox justo delante. La habitación era amplia, cómoda y con buen diseño. El personal muy amable, siempre dispuesto a ayudar sin ser pesados. El desayuno correcto y las zonas comunes —piscina, playa y bar— están muy bien montadas. No es un hotel enorme ni lleno de servicios, pero eso es parte de su encanto: silencio, buen gusto y relax total. En resumen: AWA Holbox es ideal si buscas descanso real, buena playa y un hotel bonito y tranquilo. Repetiría sin dudar.

We had a great experience at Awa Jeal And Miguel both managers were very nice and attentive . The facility is very clean ,amazing view . Good was great . We can’t wait to go back . Isla very safe place

Front staff was not helpful and seemed to get frustrated if we asked anything.

Property has a romantic vibe and great views of ocean. Room waa clean but I found setup to be inconvenient with all components of bathroom in separate location in room. Must leave the water closet and walk past bed to wash tour hands. No television and you have to walk road and wait for a taxi to come by. I left 2 days early as it rained and roads were flooded in spots. My room had a charge of 2 sodaa which i didn't charge. Hotel manager acted as if i waa lying. Until he learned we apoke spanish his tune changed. For 150 pesos. I tipped more than that and found it to be insulting. Probably one of the better hotels on island but not for me. Maybe i was expecting an island like Ibiza.

Vi havde overordnet et fint ophold, men også nogle punkter, som trak oplevelsen ned. Vi havde booket et værelse på AWA Holbox, men blev ved ankomst indlogeret på nabo-hotellet Casa Muuch. Værelset var rigtig fint og meget rent, men det var uklart, om dette var en nedgradering i forhold til det, vi havde booket. Specielt fordi værelsesprisen på det hotel var noget lavere end på AWA. Der blev ikke givet nogen forklaring ved indcheckning, og da vi spurgte ind til det, var svarene meget vage, hvilket gav en lidt utryg start på opholdet. Til gengæld var morgenmaden på Casa Muuch virkelig lækker og personalet deroppe virkelig venlige. Den blev tilberedt efter bestilling på tagterrassen og var en klar positiv oplevelse. Restaurantpriserne på AWA oplevede vi som meget høje – også sammenlignet med andre luksushoteller på Holbox. Vi forstår, at det er dyrere at drive hotel på en ø, men kvaliteten stod ikke helt mål med prisniveauet. Derudover havde vi desværre en oplevelse af, at personalet i restauranten i høj grad forventede eller nærmest tiggede om drikkepenge. Da vi kommer fra en kultur, hvor drikkepenge er meget usædvanligt, blev det – kombineret med de høje priser – en lidt ubehagelig del af opholdet. Alt i alt et hotel med potentiale og gode elementer, men med kommunikationsproblemer og et prisniveau, der trækker helhedsoplevelsen ned.

This property is beautiful. The hotel staff is incredible friendly. Servers at Los Fuegos restaurant offer an unique and personalized service. The food is authentic and delicious. When I did my check out, I forgot my backpack with my computer, passport and money inside in the front desk. I communicated with the hotel, and they sent me the backpack in a taxi to the ferry station in less than 10 min, in order to don’t loose the ferry and connection to Cancun. The overall experience in this hotel is extremely recommended.

Whilst the staff are lovely and attentive this hotel was not anything like what was marketed to us. The hotel was described as a 5 star luxury boutique hotel in a peaceful area — we found it to be the opposite of this. Feels as if the hotel is stuck between wanting to be a peaceful resort and a party hotel, whilst charging high end prices. The walls were thin which meant restless nights. Both bars of the hotel insisted on blasting music from 8am until 11pm which we could hear clearly, even with the windows closed. There is also an active construction site right next door which created additional noise from 8am until around 10pm. We were unsure if the music was being used to try and mask this. To make matters worse, on the Thursday and Friday night there was loud pumping DJ music coming from another property next door until the early hours of the morning. When we brought this to the hotel’s attention they didn’t offer any apologies or solutions. The food was good but quite overpriced for the area, even more so the drinks. We paid £20 per cocktail for two mojitos one night! Lastly, we paid a high price for a transfer from the airport through the hotel (mainly for peace of mind) and we ended up waiting over an hour for our driver to show up once we had landed. Disappointed to say the least especially considering the price we paid.

Nos encanto el lugar, la atencion al cliente es excelente, todo el tiempo estan al pendiente tanto de los touristas como de las instalaciones, mis felicilaciones por su compromiso y amabilidad a Jeal el Director, Miguel gerente, Blanca de recepción y Daniela una mesera. Sin duda un lugar para recomendar sobre todo por el personal que labora en ella, ya que te hacen sentir como en casa

Das Hotel an sich ist sehr schön, die Zimmer liebevoll gestaltet. Es liegt etwas abseits und ohne Strand hat es aber einen eigenen Zugang ins Wasser. Leider war dieser zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthalts aufgrund zu viel angeschwemmten Seegras nicht nutzbar. Das Seegras brachte auch einen sehr üblen Geruch mit sich, weshalb man sich kaum im Restaurant am Wasser aufhalten konnte und leider stank es auch im Zimmer danach. Zudem sind die Preise in den Hotel-Lokalen sehr hoch, sodass wir außerhalb gegessen haben. Das Personal und ist eher zurückhaltend aber freundlich. Insgesamt waren wir mit dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht zufrieden.

Boutique Hotel that only recently opened. Ergo construction still ongoing around property. Notwithstanding this amazing hotel is situated right on a sought after beach. Rooms are lacking only minor things, like a television; however, wifi throughout the property is very good! Staff are very polite, earnest and despite some language barriers they figure out what an English-speaking-only customer requires. Overall a good experience. Just needs construction to end.

El hotel me pareció excelente en términos generales. Las habitaciones son cómodas y tienen muy buen gusto, el agua caliente y el A/C sirven perfectamente. Adicionalmente la comida me pareció espectacular y recomiendo comer en el restaurante aunque no se hospeden en el hotel. Arriba tiene un bar con vista que también está muy bien. El hotel está a 15-20 minutos caminando por la playa del centro, por lo que se puede visitar perfectamente.

There is construction of a new hotel right next door!!! They will be building this for a very long time so if you don't want to hear hammers banging etc DO NOT stay here!!! There is also construction on the other side of the hotel. That might finish in the next 2 or 3 months but who knows. There is NO BEACH! There is sand where they have put the sun chairs but no beach. The hotel pool is super small and only in front of hotel rooms which is strange. The staff at the 2 restaurants are nice but very limited English. The manager is AWFUL and I would give this hotel zero stars or worse for his terrible attitude if I could. Lastly, this sidr of the island is being built up so if you want a quiet stay with beautiful beaches Definitely go to Punta Coco or nearby. The beaches are gorgeous and the hotels are wonderiful. Also this hotel is Very far from town so you will need a taxi to go to and from town. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone

A delightful stay! The staff is wonderful, both friendly & very helpful. The room, artfully designed, clean, comfortable. The restaurant area, geat beachfront ambiance, food very nicely prepared & presented, cocktails well crafted. Five min cab ride to downtown, two restaurants & a small Mercado across the street.

This was probably one of my favourite stays at any hotel and I travel every other week for work and stay in beautiful hotels. The property is breathtaking, probably the nicest on the island. The rooms are beautiful, the roof top pool and view is spectacular! The food and drinks at Fuego and Terra was among the best in the island. only complaints would be that the beach has been eroded by a recent hurricane so we had to walk a few minutes to a sandy beach. That being said, the hotel was re building the beach while we there. The staff, especially Ricardo, were lovely! Room for improvement: speed of service at Fuego, sometimes very slow.

Awa es un hotel súper cute, tiene unas lindas habitaciones con vista al mar, puedes estar acostado en la cama y contemplar el hermoso paisaje; la comida es deliciosa, disfrutamos de desayunos deliciosos por parte del chef Sebastian y su equipo, puedes elegir entre distintos platillos cada día y todos están exquisitos. Holbox es hermoso y hospedado en este hotel lo disfrutas más, sin duda volveremos pronto

1000/10 – ¡El mejor hotel en Holbox! Nuestra experiencia en Hotel Awa Holbox fue simplemente espectacular. Desde el momento en que reservamos, el staff y su director se aseguraron de que cada detalle estuviera cuidado. Nos apoyaron en todo: transporte privado desde el aeropuerto hasta Chiquilá, ferry de ida y vuelta, traslados al hotel, organización de tours y hasta masajes relajantes. Los restaurantes dentro del hotel son exquisitos, con platillos de primera calidad y una atención impecable. Realmente no hay necesidad de salir del hotel, ¡tienen todo lo que uno puede desear! El ambiente, las instalaciones y sobre todo la calidez del personal hicieron que nuestra estancia fuera inolvidable. Definitivamente es un lugar al que quiero volver, y me daré la tarea de recomendarlo con toda confianza. Having said that, I didn’t have one bad dish and I tried breakfast, lunch and dinner here. If you’re a heavy drinker you won’t like the drink prices but I picked up a wine bottle at the airport and had it for dinner everyday. If you’re looking for a peaceful vacation this is the place and I can’t wait to go back!

Stunning boutique hotel on the beach front, lovely spacious rooms, friendly staff who helped with recommendations, rooms were cleaned and spotless everyday. Food was on the pricier side but was delicious. No negatives about this place.

Whilst the staff are lovely and attentive this hotel was not anything like what was marketed to us. The hotel was described as a 5 star luxury boutique hotel in a peaceful area — we found it to be the opposite of this. Feels as if the hotel is stuck between wanting to be a peaceful resort and a party hotel, whilst charging high end prices. The walls were thin which meant restless nights. Both bars of the hotel insisted on blasting music from 8am until 11pm which we could hear clearly, even with the windows closed. There is also an active construction site right next door which created additional noise from 8am until around 10pm. We were unsure if the music was being used to try and mask this. To make matters worse, on the Thursday and Friday night there was loud pumping DJ music coming from another property next door until the early hours of the morning. When we brought this to the hotel’s attention they didn’t offer any apologies or solutions. The food was good but quite overpriced for the area, even more so the drinks. We paid £20 per cocktail for two mojitos one night! Lastly, we paid a high price for a transfer from the airport through the hotel (mainly for peace of mind) and we ended up waiting over an hour for our driver to show up once we had landed. Disappointed to say the least especially considering the price we paid.

Overall, this property was very nice. Food was the best we have had on the island so kudos to the chef from Cuba! Our room was stationed right underneath the upstairs bar, which sometimes provided for excess noise, but it wasn’t too much to stand. We felt like we had the whole upstairs pool deck area to ourselves. Love this place and would highly recommend.
