Hollywood Hotel Ft Lauderdale Airport Cruise Port

First and foremost, this property advertises a pool. The pool and the entire wing of this building has been condemed scince April 2024 by the State of Florida. I called the hotel two days before my stay asking about pool and breakfast hours and they just told me the pool hours. No mention of the closure. Security is a little sktchy, I don't recomend for families. The rest is what you expect from a BW in Florida. I can't post the the unsafe builing order posted by the pool but the order # is 116.2.1.2.2

Advertises "airport shuttle" but the scheduled is very limited. If your flights departs earlier than 8am you must arrange your own transportation because the first shuttle to airport leaves at 6:20am and the ride takes 20 minutes.

The pool is green. Not useable.There are signs up that it is unsafe. Front desk was useless. Neighbors are so loud. Very disappointed

Waited over an hour for the shuttle from airport. We finally had to call the driver. Per instructions from hotel because he would not answer their call. Check in guy was very nice. Our key didn’t work after 3 attempts. He finally came up to help us. No hot water in hotel!! No Kleenex!! Will meet with manager to see what they will do

The room was booked through Expedia, and prepaid. The best western charged for the room, and in addition, charged for a room deposit of. We have contacted the Best Western for a correction. The Deposit has been returned, but the room charge has not. We are currently working with Visa to have the room charge reimbursed. Also, we were not advised that the pool was out of service.

Free airport shuttle took over an hour to arrive. We called the hotel three times and finally they gave us the shuttle drivers cell number and told us to call him!!! Hotel was dirty (bugs covered inside of bedside lamp shade) and there was NO HOT WATER. Had to take a miserable cold shower. All this for over $250.00 a night. Horrible experience. Asked for refund or at least compensation. We were refused. Would have left to look for another place but it was already after 11:00 pm and we were leaving for a cruise the next morning. Just awful!

Elevator will have you waiting for 25 minutes especially the 4th floor. If no one is coming to that floor it will not come

I waited an hour and a half for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Poor communication and the wait of course was way too long. The other two people on the shuttle canceled a reservation they had for this hotel in March because of this. I could not take the shuttle to the airport the next morning because I could not count on it being on time. I will avoid this hotel in the future because of this. Also, the water in the shower was not hot. There is something wrong with the handle. The water in the sink was very hot so the water was ok, it is the shower handle that has the problem Also the shower head will not stay in position on the wall. These are maintenance issues that can be easily addressed, but the person responsible has not trained staff well. Very poor. Also, one elevator does not work. No excuse for this. Person at desk is nice though. Also, extreme traffic noise in the room on the side where I stayed. Overall a very disappointing stay. Also, horribly overpriced food in the vending machine in lobby. A complete insult to guests.

The biggest complaint is that only one elevator was working and it was extremely slow. The hotel itself is clean but dated. The shuttle service from the airport and to the cruise ship are good.

Called to be picked up by shuttle from airport twice and never got picked up. Driver from another Best Western said he didn’t drop off at the Hollywood. Waited for over an hour. Ended up calling Uber and spent $60. Bad service!

The check-in was fair and slight easy. However, the front desk only had one receptionist there. The problem with this hotel is they have bed bugs. It was little small bed stains on the sheets. After cutting on the light and lifting up the sheets, the bed bugs began crawling and scattering…. I immediately checked out and requested a refund…

Run down hotel, poor breakfast, no amenities, dampness all over the 5th floor, musky smell in hallways and room

Customer service at the front desk was excellent, fast, and professional. The room cleaning was extremely poor. I found food scraps in the microwave. Apparently, disposable cups aren't flushed; they're washed and had detergent residue on them. The tabletops had food scraps and were sticky. The chairs and armchairs were dirty and stained. Horrible. The cleanliness situation is appalling. If you're like me, and cleanliness is the most important detail in any place, I don't recommend this hotel.

Excellent front desk service!!! Dirty, dirty, dirty room.

The decor and rooms at a glance were nice. However, we quickly noticed how dirty it was. After walking around our room to put things away, we realized the bottoms of our feet were black from a very dirty floor. The shower head was broken. The wall near the toilet was dirty from someone puking. When we arrived we were told the pool was under maintenence...which was annoying to find out then instead of earlier. Each bed only had 3 pillows on it, which is odd. When we asked for an extra pillow, we were told, "We don't do that." The man doing the shuttle bus was lovely and helpful. The staff were kind and helped as much as possible. However, it was not a good stay. I would not return.

We were in a first room that was infested with ants on the table, walls, roof, beds, everywhere. We have to leave the room less than 30 minutes after we checked in. They gave us another room it was a little bit better still with ants but not as bad as the previous one. The second room apparently was under the gym and the laundry room. There was a constant loud noise and banging from 7pm to 9pm. We call the front desk and report it. Nothing could be done only if we would like to change the room again which we chose not to since we don’t know what would be the next surprise. There was a female attendant at the front desk who was super loud and speaking her language. Regarding safety, it’s a matter of time before someone falls and break a limb because the persons who were cleaning the front porch were very negligent. No sign, a lot of water and soap on the floor. This work should be done at night between midnight and 4am when we traffic is low not at around 9 am. Also the “do not disturb sign” was not respected, Someone who speaks Spanish comes knocking at my door when the sign was present to offer us towels even though we didn’t ask for that, a second person came 15 minutes later doing the same thing and we didn’t request for any towels. It was a rough time. If someone needs to rest, think twice!

Stayed for 2 nights, noone bothered to clean the room or even change the towels. When initially moved in - hair all over bathroom floor.

Mold in the bathroom, air couldn’t be adjusted and it was freezing, the volume on the tv did not work, toilet paper roll kept falling off the wall and room smelled of strong marijuana and cleaning solution. Will not stay here again. Dirty hotel.

Rooms and corridors are old and dirty. I was given a room and i saw what look like water marks/ stripping paint up the top. When i got up close i saw mold or mildew on the walls. Why woukd they give anyone that room to stay in if its not safe. I immediately asked for a different room which i got. That room was better but i did not trust anything in that room.

The hotel staff was good, the hotel its self needs some TLC. The shower Handel kept falling, the mattress would slide off of the base when you sat up and leaned against the wall. Key card didn’t work half the time. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room (the room description says there should be one there

Property is in a nice spot and quite clean. It needs to be modernized and heating and air conditioning needs to be more comfortable. We were extremely uncomfortable with the cold in the room. We actually left ill because air conditioning would not shut off.

We have to moved from one room to the other, first room the TV doesn’t work, toilet bowl not flushing water. Transferred to next room but no refrigerator and limited plug extension to charge devices. Customer service are not friendly

The airport shuttle was a nice accommodation. I was not allowed to change the air temperature in my room. It was set on 65 and I froze the entire time. The bedding was thin so i slept in pants, socks, and a jacket but still slept in a ball and woke up all throughout the night shivering. I will not stay here again.

So noisy, next to highway, bed not comfortable. Bed pillows like throw pillow size. Bedding was not completely dry. If you want a good night sleep after the flight, this place not for you. Prise is attractive

The property was clean and the hotel was very quite at the time we checked in. Room was clean, and we had no issues. I feel alseep right away, so thats an indication pf how comfortable to bed and pillow were. Of course this depends on each person's preference in how they prefer their mattress and pillow. Overall, no complaints.

The price and shuttle was the attraction. Almost zero water pressure, don't try to brush your teeth when someone is in the shower. The windows facing the interstate were paper thin. The room was noisy all night.We booked the room nine months ago for $152, I feel sorry for the people who paid $300+.

The front desk clerk was very rude and has no customer service . We received an email that we would have guaranteed early check-in upon arrival. I showed her the email and she said I don’t know why you receive that because we don’t do that. There were several other guests waiting to check in early as well we all had just come back from a cruise. She had no sympathy for the three elderly family members that I had with me. Her name was Carleen. She had no eye contact as she was speaking to the guest . She would not even give us an estimated early check In time . She refused to contact housekeeping to see where they were with the rooms . The airport offered free airport shuttle and I asked her where we could sign up for the morning pick up to the airport and she said you’ll sign up when you check in although the paperwork was visually right there on the counter to sign up.. She was very adamant that there was no early check In and we would check in at 3 pm which was their regular check In. We were on the first floor. We had two rooms booked, and a few doors down was the door to go outside where people would go outside and smoke. We smelled cigarettes and marijuana and every time they would come in, they would slam the door. I had asked to speak to the manager and she stated that management is only there Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 5:30. Hotel management should be available seven days a week and they should provide training to their employees to be better with guest.

I liked the staffs commitment to giving others the best service to their customers. Vinny the overnight staff member was exceptionally helpful making sure his tenants receive a calm and smooth night as well as Jay the midday staff whom resolved many problematic issues during his shifts. I also liked the privacy of the rooms as well as the complementary breakfast they offered in the morning.

We phoned four times for airport pickup and we were put four times on lengthy holds. Finally gave up and payed $25 for an Uber. Very noisy hotel right next to I95, did not sleep well at all. Would never stay there again and would definitely not recommend it.

Very friendly and helpful staff

Good location to airport and cruise ports. The front desk staff here were excellent and very helpful, especially Maria with helping us book an afternoon at the Everglades Park and arranged transportation to and from the park.

I was suppose to get picked up by a shuttle to the airport caused me missed my flight because there was poor service and did not care at all

We had problems at check in and waited 25 minutes as they couldn’t find our booking at first. But the receptionist was very helpful and eventually sorted it all out.

I would give Maria, the front desk staff a thumb up for her efficiency and clarity instruction.

Property was is disrepair. Rooms were in dire need of updates. No refrigerator. Chair was broken.

We stayed overnight on our way to a cruise. Good shuttle service from airport and to cruise port. Near a highway which made it noisy. No dining available nearby other than a McDonald and Denny’s.

Excellent location for before and after cruising, That staff is very friendly you're always there to help you.

It was next to a busy road but it was clean and staff were very friendly. Very convenient location if you have a flight the next morning.

It was fine nothing great or special. It was clean but definitely outdated and a lot of cosmetic blemishes and eye sores from walls floor or furniture being old. Other than that it was a good price for what you got and the staff was friendly. Definitely use for a work trip. It was nice to have a 24 hour restaurant next door.

At breakfast this morning at 9:00 am there was hardly any food out. It hadn’t been replenished and a lot of people were looking for food. Room is very old. Shower leaked everywhere! Would not stay at this hotel again

The shuttle to and from the airport ends at midnight. The shuttle to the cruise terminal is $15-20 per person, on a bus. Rideshare is $18-20 for two people. Staff was nice enough, but disinterested. Breakfast was not appealing--we walked two blocks to a McDonald's.

Shower ceiling pealing, wallpaper coming off walls, dirty floors, very noisy with traffic. Sometimes like a drag race. Scrambled eggs cold.

The breakfast was good. The room was clean. We can use a shuttle to go to the cruise Port for 15$, reasonnable price. Negative: the pool was not open and restaurants near did not offer good quality of food.

We did a one night sleepover at this hotel before boarding cruise next day. Very clean ,breakfast had decent options. Beautiful lobby and first time saw any hotel with water refill station.

Great staff, location, decent breakfast, coffee 24/7, and clean rooms. I hope next time the pool is ready and available

Good breakfast, variety of fresh food

Fresh good variety every day they were different very clean. Things were replenished as they run out.

Arriving at the property there was some sort of construction sign on the door saying the building was unsafe. The lobby was dark and dingy, not like the photos posted online. There was hair and dirt in the corners of the bathroom floor. There was a bug that crawled out from under the bed. The free breakfast in the morning was gone... 2 apples, the waffle maker and a few pieces of bread to make toast. There was nothing in the mini fridge, maybe it used to have yogurt? The juice was empty, no eggs left, and somemthing (bacon or sausage?) was also empty.
