This hotel was a lovely place to stay on our trip to Michigan. Located right in the beach! It was clean, the pool was nice, and the breakfast was wonderful. We would definitely recommend staying here!

This is a great property that is caught in a time warp. The location on Lake Michigan is awesome. The building is solid and well maintained. However, the rooms furniture, bath tile, bath fixtures, old style tub with 2 knob shower and no grab bars are 1960's vintage. The swimming pool and hot tub are very nice but again need some updating. Old dark colored wood around the hot tub is water damaged and needs to be replaced with modern light colored tiles. The pool area is very dark and needs new bright lighting. The restaurant is beautiful overlooking Lake Michigan. The menu however is similar to Applebee's. Very limited selections and only one overpriced steak option We really like this property and will probably return and recommend it to others. I just wish they could improve and moderize especially with the beautiful dining room menu.

Great location. Restaurant was excellent. Rooms were spacious. Adults only time at the pool was nice. The hot tub was extremely hot. Could only stay in about 5 minutes. That was the only negative.

Clean property with very friendly staff, great breakfast restaurant conveniently located inside with a great view of the lake. It is an older property, the first floor rooms were very damp and smelled like damp carpet. The bathroom on our room had a slow draining tub. All that said overall it’s a affordable hotel next to the lake. I would request a second floor room facing the lake if I where to come back.

The property is old and it smells musty, especially in our room. The outside sign and landscaping are not well kept. However, the facility is well cleaned and the beds/bedding were nice. The highway in front was busy and noisy but you couldn’t hear it inside. The view in the back of the inn is fantastic. The fan in the bathroom did not work and several outlets were non working. No hair dryer in the room but they had one at the front desk. They were under staffed in the restaurant and service was slow. Our breakfast was very good. I highly recommend the cranberry walnut oatmeal brûlée!

The fantastic location and spectacular views somewhat make up for the hard mattress, flat pillows, and toilet that ran every time we flushed it (we just left the top off the tank so we could keep the lever from holding the flapper open - a shorter one would have prevented the problem). There were also people directly below our window, shouting over the sound of the waves, laughing and smoking weed around midnight. It was also hard to see the beautiful sunrise because of all the spiders, spider webs, dead mosquitoes and gnats that covered both windows. The room itself was very clean, if a bit worn out. It's a lovely, classic waterfront hotel that just needs a bit of TLC to make it amazing.

Not happy. The TV would not work all three nights we were there. could not watch our favorite shows or any other. Once tv was on for awhile, freeze up and shut down, over and over again. Asked for clean towels daily, 2 days ok, third day I had to ask for towels and then walk around all the dirty ones. The toilet seat was loose, not connected and lid kept hitting us in the back. Not Happy

We arrived late at night after sailing on the Badger. There were 4 other rooms of guests from our ship. They knew we were coming, but yet still we all had to wait for our rooms. That's ok I guess, but the lone receptionist was standing behind a huge metal gate separating her from the rest of us. We literally had to hand our credit card to her through the slats of the gate to get checked in. It felt so scary. And then right after we got to our room my kid spilled an entire water bottle on their bed and we needed a dry blanket or sheets but the receptionist was not able to leave her area behind the gate and therefore could not get us any new linens. Like, come on. If you are going to lock yourself away at least be prepared! It was so late, we were so tired, and now we were sleeping on a wet bed. The whole place was outdated and musty. I thought it would be charming but it just felt icky. And I paid extra for a view of the lake so we could wake up to a beautiful sunrise - but our window was literally obstructed by a massive staircase! And we were on the first floor so we had people walking by the window all morning going to the beach for walks. Not what I had envisioned at all. Would not stay there again, would instead stay closer to the Badger.

Room was damp. Bathroom door stuck - we had to help our children “escape” every time they used the bathroom. Unfortunately our room was next to one of the main exits so there was CONSTANT door slamming at all hours of the night. Ground floor with a view of Lake Michigan but a lot of people walking around the building and looking right into our room. We picked this hotel for the view, knowing it was dates but we would not stay again.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast which was included was delicious! The comfort of the beds and the pillows was a problem. Very hard bed and flat pillows. We enjoyed our lakeside room and being able to open the window and hear the water.

The furniture in the room looks like it's original from the '60s. That being said, it is comfortable, and with the alarm clock and hub on the desk, there are plenty of outlets including charging options. Breakfast is in the on-premise restaurant. You get a voucher. You can choose from a half dozen options, or just six dollars off anything on the menu. The food was good. Note when you book that rooms facing the lake are slightly higher, so if you want a lake view, book a "lakeside" room. A "parkside" room overlooks the parking lot.

Stayed there three years ago, it was great. This time, not so much. Dirty facility, smelled moldy. They were out of extra pillows and towels. Evening staff was rude. Meal the next morning at the restaurant was awful. Tired of hearing, ‘we are short staffed’!! Ummm, if I’m not getting the full experience, why am I paying for it?? Will never go back!!!

You literally can't get any closer to the water, or you'd be in it. Lovely staff, spectacular views, and an added bonus for the hot tub and pool. It's an older building, (I think '73), so it has that old smell, but I'm a sucker for vintage, and they've done a nice job of preserving the property. I will absolutely be staying here again.

It's an older property but is well maintained, clean, quiet and safe. There is a bike/walking path nearby, and the downtown area is quite close. The view of Lake Michigan is fabulous. The restaurant is tasty.

This hotel is what I would consider mid-range. Not fancy. The setting is absolutely beautiful on the lake. We would stay here again just for the setting and views. Breakfast was in the restaurant with menu ordering. This was very nice for us as we were having a leisurely vacation. If you were in a hurry it would take a bit longer. Food was decent. Each room was unique. Views were the best, staff was very kind and considerate in both the front desk and the restaurant.

This is a great location on Lake Michigan. The property is a little older but we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and quite and the views of the lake were awesome. The food was great, the bar was great and the staff were great.

It’s an older hotel so nothing is shiny or perfect, but it was clean and you can’t beat the view! Dinner at the restaurant was super disappointing and breakfast was alright. Both took forever, though. Which is totally fine if you’re not on a schedule. The service was friendly and again, the view is incredible.

'The room was a fair price, less than we've paid before, but there was nothing convenient; no tissue, no hair dryer, none of the usual ABC, CBS, NBC stations. The "included" breakfast was cheap, Toast was cold; it was already buttered and the butter was clumped, and the bread broke when bitten into. A very small piece of orange was the only fruit. The sausages were awful. The only good thing wase the location.

Staff is wonderful as always, check in, bartender and wait staff - always wonderful. Rooms could be updated, smart TVs would be nice to stream Netflix or other apps. Breakfast is always wonderful. Dinner, well, we tend to eat elsewhere because we’ve always found dinner to be overcooked with poor care taken and minimal flavor. The menu is good, but maybe the cooking staff doesn’t care or doesn’t know how to cook?
