Sleep Inn & Suites Winchester near University

This property has been on a steady decline. 1st floor ice maker has been "out of order" for over a year now. Remote power button didn't work, toilet seat shifted, chair in the room was leaning to one side as if it could break at any wrong move. Children had stayed in this room, and Stickers were stuck in the carpet. What was once a fair priced decent place to stay, has become a property in need of renovations. The first room we had, reeked of cigarette smoke that was embedded in the room and had plastic wrap over the smoke detector (whole hotel is “non-smoking”. Also, the bathtub wa sin rough shape in that room. The carpet was “sticky” and the hallway to the whole 4 th floor was smelly. Complained to desk the next morning and was moved to exact room on the floor below very quickly and they were very nice about it. Although the second room did’nt smell like smoke, it still had a smell to it that wasn’t “clean”. Hotels shouldn’t have carpet…the breakfast is lacking any kind of protein and we decided to get breakfast elsewhere, they do have a waffle maker. This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this exact hotel, the first two times are the reason we came back. The rooms were clean then with no issues. We visit Winchester frequently as our son goes to school there, will probably choose other hotels that we have stayed in there over this one due to this stay.

This is the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There was an earwig in the bathroom. The bed cover was dirty, everything was dingy. The walls, the chair. The one side of the mattress springs were so wore and broken. The plug in the bathroom didn’t work. The handicap bar was out of the wall. You can hear the people upstairs walking around. Luckily, the sheets themselves were clean and didn’t smell. Wasn’t worth my 8 hour stay to bother moving rooms. Water was extremely hot!
