Quiet rural location, close to both Belgian and German border. Rooms in new wing, including pool and spa. Breakfast and meeting rooms in castle part, trip from rooms to castle is cobblestone path, can be tricky for reduced mobility elders. Breakfast buffet is vast, good eggs, selection of hams, bread could have been a bit more freshly baked, but you can toast. Pool area is great, clean, and with adjacent sauna, and access to outside garden area. All in all great base to explore surrounding area, including historic Aachen

Very poor value for money and, if not for the breakfast, it would be a total disappointment. My room was filled with over 30 mosquitoes which I noticed, unfortunately, too late to change rooms... very nice bedtime challenge it was, thanks to management who did not install screens on windows, and to housekeeping - who apparently kept windows open to let all those mosquitoes in. Room soundproofing is worse than in a roadside motel - you hear people talking next door, and all what happens in the corridor. Spa and pool are of a puddle-like size considering that it is a huge 130 room hotel, basically unusable when they have full house. All that at an unbelievable price for the offer. If not for breakfast which is pretty decent, I would give one star given the price, facility quality and misrepresentation of what it is (the castle is an event venue, not the hotel).

Wonderful break at this well designed hotel sat in ravishing surroundings. So calm and beautiful. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Of especial note were the fantastic spa treatments by Tanya - she left us looking and feeling ten years younger! Thank you to all the staff
