Alivio Tourist Park Canberra

Alivio Tourist Park ticks all the boxes. Great choice of accommodation. Lots of fun activities in the park including a swimming pool and spa, tennis court and table tennis. We had a ball!

Its my first time staying in a holiday park, and it is better than what I expected. First of all the area is quite well maintained, its clean and the idea of parking your car outside the room is great for loading and unloading luggages. The fairy lights in the bbq area really makes you feel like you're in a friendly and welcoming area. Would love to do bbq outside next time. There are even kangaroos and bunnys outside in the bush area. We got a garden villa and it is very well priced for large groups. The only down side is there is not enough space or no clothes lines to hang wet clothes after playing in the pool. Would stay here again next time we in Canberra.

A lovely spot, but somethings were amiss. It was noisy and the pool is nowhere big enough for the size of the park. One afternoon there was more than 30 bodies in the pool and it was chaotic and the water mirky. When the park is so busy the restaurant (more like a pub) needs to be open for lunch as well as dinner and the meals were ordinary. There was a couple of things missing from the cabin. The fire alarm was faulty and kept going off. We were there for one week and the cabin was not cleaned for the entire week. Some of the staff could not speak English well enough to communicate. The gardens around our area needed weeding. On a good note though, check-in staff were wonderful and when I needed something the response was immediate.

Had an excellent time here at the park during our time in Canberra. The facilities and activities for kids and families were a huge hit

Great place and facilities. A lot of broken gear in the Rec Room on a wet visit was a little disappointing.

Excellent sporting / activity facilities for families with lots of space in the cabin including a smart TV. Very aesthetic caravan park with a stunning bar / restaurant.

There are so many activities for the kids and I love the fact that there's a restaurant on site too. We will definitely stay here again if we're in Canberra

Loved the tranquil surroundings and activities on offer, however rec room activities were mostly broken/damaged or missing pieces. The addition of the warm spa was great given the weather was warm but not quite pool ready.

The facilities including pool, spa, basketball court, laundry are great, the cabins are a little dated and in need of refurbishment but comfortable. The air con/heater in our cabin worked intermittently. The WIFI does not reach the cabins up the back of the park where we stayed. The restaurant and coffee shop are good.

Cabin not cleaned,dust over kitchen bench,didn't appear to be vacummed very well.found apple beside fridge,,mould stain on bathmat

The fridge wasn't cleaned out stale milk and grapes in it. Wall looked like someone had sprayed drink on it. This is the 3rd time we have stayed, and every other time the cabins were clean and tidy. Let's hope this was only due to high flow time with the park being full.

All of the crockery, cutlery and glassware in the cabin was dirty and had to be washed before use. There was no dishcloth nor tea towel in the cabin so I had to ask the reception for them. There were only 2 dinner plates in the cabin which sleeps 5 people. I would not recommend staying here.

We regularly go to Canberra and generally stay in serviced apartments. On this occasion we had our 6-year-old granddaughter with us so decided to try something different and more kid friendly. Still looking for quality accommodation though. The advert looked good and promised premium accommodation, and we paid for what was supposed to be a premium unit. Well premium it was not. The unit was grubby when we arrived and we spent some time cleaning before we unpacked. The reality is that the unit was very tired and in need of lots of maintenance and cleaning. There were a number of damaged items that had clearly been damaged for some time. There was black mold on the ceiling in the lounge area and the safe was not working. I like to have access to a safe when we travel so that we can lock away valuable items (iPads computer etc) when we're out. I asked 3 days in a row for the safe to be fixed, was promised on each occasion that it would be, all to no avail. It was still broken when we departed 6 days after our arrival. We enjoyed our holiday but the accommodation was certainly a low point in the overall experience. Would we stay at Alivio again? "No". Would we recommend Alivio as a place to stay, "No"

Room is dirty

Really friendly staff but unfortunately our cabin was not cleaned, with towel on the bathroom floor still and bedding not changed. Thankfully the staff were amazing and organized another cabin which was much better but still had rubbish in the bin, and that made us question if it had been cleaned.

The park itself is lovely, lots of wildlife where we were. The cabin was grotty and they had the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on, I tried every bed and would have been more comfortable outside on the gravel. The sheets had ink stains on them, the curtains were dirty. The couch was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean and the shower was great. Think the cleaners need to lift there game and learn how to make beds let alone clean the cabins. 2 bedroom cabin was not suitable for more then 3 people as it is tiny.

Bit grubby - to be expected to a degree. Blood on duvet was not.

The property was the worse i havw wlever stayed in. There was rubish in the room. There was blood on the doona. The shampoo and conditioner was half used. The floor was uneven. The room was dirty. Reception didnt help at all. I was shocked and wouldnt recommend this property to anyone. Do a favor and stay somewhere else. Check the reviews as they all say the same thing.

The property as a whole was fantastic. Great place to stay with lots of options for children to be entertained. The rooms were very basic, which was fine as they held everything we needed, but they could have been cleaner, mould and cobwebs on the windows and curtains and food packets under the beds from the previous guests.

NIce place - cabins were very small only complaint

First time we stayed in a gorgeous cabin, it was roomy and comfortable beds. This time in smaller older cabin, the beds were horrendous!!!! It would be more comfortable sleeping on cement rather than these mattress's.

Play ground from the kids was great. Cabins heating did t work in the middle of winter and the cabin was not cleaned properly. Still rubbish and bottles left in the room on arrival. Had booked two nights only stayed one.

Bed mattress was old spring mattress with no give and very hard. Ironing board was lopsided and iron leaked water everywhere. More attention to finer details would make the stay more enjoyable. Could’ve booked much cheaper elsewhere so was disappointed at quality.

Cabin (Ridge View) was very small and cramped - we didn’t feel it was good value for money. Cabin was very tired and needs refreshing. Curtains had holes in the light blocking backing and looked tatty. Also window sills dusty. We couldn’t open the bunk room window - I did report this to Reception and they said someone would fix it whilst we were out but that didn’t happen. looked tatty -

Cabin was too small for 3 people. Double bed mattress was uncomfortable an no room between bed and walls.

Rooms where very cold even with the heating set on high, slept cold all night

The cabin was good but the beds and pillows were not comfortable

Property was clean and tidy Air conditioner didn’t work- not great for a 40 degree day

Cabins are a bit small and tired.

The staff were amazing and friendly. They were more than helpful with any request. Would definitely stay here again in the future

All staff had a great sense of humour and went beyond to help check-in. They made guests feel comfortable and happy. Highly recommend staying at Alivio in particularly the villas. However, this was my first time staying in the cabins. It's a bit outdated and needs some TLC.

Family friendly facilities and lovely staff. Little disappointed with breakfast. Shops, pub etc reasonably close (by car). I’d stay again.

Booking was made with "pay at property" for 3 rooms. I received a call 2 days before from the duty manager insisting that I pay for all 3 rooms despite me advising that my confirmation has pay at property. She also insisted that I paid for all 3 rooms on the one card even after I told her it is 3 separate families. Upon arrival the check in staff was lovely and check in was very quick. The cabins were nice but our bathroom floor had a lot of hair on the floor. Reception came to clean it after we raised this

Service from the female in reception on the Saturday and Sunday was very poor not interested in helping at all however the young man when we checked in Sunday was very good. We also ran out of toilet paper as there was only half a roll when we arrived and didn’t realise until it was too late there was no spare

2 hr delay to check in. Annoying when you’re only staying one night. Hair in shower, food and wrappers under the cushions on the lounge. Good pool and restaurant

The park appeared to be at half capacity and check in wasn’t until after 4pm. We had rang through early (11am) to check in at 2pm where they advised that would be fine. Upon arrival they were not ready and we had to park near the cabin, get changed outside, then walk to GIO stadium for the football at 3pm. Staff were nice, however when we headed up to our van to park, 4-5 cleaning staff were loitering about with what appeared to be no purpose or urgency. A little frustrated for the price we paid. Tidy Park and great facilities. Check in was delayed by an hour and I had to follow up myself to find out the room was now available. Also, there was no apology for the inconvenience caused. Disappointing.

Wow! What an amazing facility that requires a lot of professional development for their staff. This park is in a beautiful location, you feel like you are in the country. Birds tweeting and quietness. Coffee shop/dining facility, pool, playground etc - great. Improvement required for: - Hygiene of cabins, cleaning quality and consistent standard. - Genuine care of customer satisfaction, health and well-being. - Staff need to understand that they are in service industry and experience of the customer is essential at all points of contact. We have never experienced as poor of service/standard from a place that we have stayed and we have stayed many caravan parks, Airbnb, hotels, resorts. There was a new manager to the park who tried to help us. But the follow up to the experience we had on check in, which required us to be moved twice before finding a clean room was dismal. Being able to clean toilets and other touched surfaces is pertinent in the accomodation industry for the health and safety of guests. This was not adequately dealt with by all members of the Alivio team. Only one member was committed to trying to sort this out and we left feeling very sad and negative with our final check out experience too. This park had huge potential. However the staff unfortunately do not appear to be the right fit or have the correct training to work cohesively to give even satisfactory customer care.

Great location

The location of this accommodation is its best asset. It is set amongst bushland with a view of Black Mountain and is a short drive into the city.

Close to the city, but still quiet and a feeling of being miles away in the bush. Absolutely beautiful and clean.

2 bed cabin was generally comfortable, but definitely in need of some TLC, especially in the bathroom. The park is located a bit out of the way and a car or bicycle is a necessity in order to get around Canberra.

It was surrounded by bush but close to drive to the city. The receptionist was very friendly and even brought us a drink. Facilities were adequate for our needs and it was clean.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Alivio, travelled to Canberra to attend a wedding. Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was everything we needed. We were able to have dinner at the onsite restaurant so we didn’t have to go out and didn’t have to cater for our own meals. Meals were quite nice. Had breakfast there as well which was also nice but probably a bit too expensive to do it each day. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.

We enjoyed a long weekend stay. The 3 bedroom accommodation was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful. Unfortunately the microwave was on it's last legs & there was only one pan to cook - for a room that can fit 8 people this seems limited. The restaurant only offered pizza during our stay which was unexpected - hence us attempting to cook with one pan. We did enjoy the pizza on our first night though. We were considering the breakfast buffet but witnessed a staff member eat from it with their bare hands. The option for takeaway coffees was appreciated. The kids had a great time and always love the activity spaces available.

Really friendly staff. Great location to access the city, Belconnen and different attractions in Canberra. The park is in a nice bush area and the pool and other amenities are good. The bar/restaurant area is well set up. Pizzas are big and the toppings generous. The buffet breakfast was good, except for the instant coffee. You pay extra for a barista coffee. The main drawback was the cabin. It was clean, but too small for a family of 5 with older teenage kids. The cabin was essentially a caravan without wheels and was showing its age. The toilet barely flushed, and the seat was not attached. Taps in the shower and basin were loose. It was bearable for one night, but it would be uncomfortable to stay in for longer.

Gluten free pizza was one of the best we have had. Very hard to find a good gluten free pizza base. The Ragu was great as well. We stayed in the Garden Villa. Was perfect for an overnighter, but would have loved to stayed longer in this cabin. The property is a bit more like a resort.

Amazing food at the on-site restaurant. the service was quick, friendly, and really helpful. Unfortunately, the condition of our cabin was a bit questionable. When we arrived, the bathroom door was locked from the inside, and although the manager came quickly with his tools to open it. It turned into a bit of a battle with cockroaches during the night, i killed atleast 15 that made it onto our bed. On the plus side, they do offer 24-hour service, and someone came out right away with bug spray when we called. The beds, however, were quite uncomfortable, two firm single beds pushed together

Paid buffet breakfast but limited foods and drinks. No coffee (additional cost).

Property was clean and tidy. Beds comfortable. Only negative was the verandah dining area. Went for breakfast and couldn’t get a table inside as all tables were empty but full of dirty dishes. Need staff to clean out tables to allow for seating, or a trolley for patrons to place dirty dishes on

We stayed in one of the no frills cabins, a little aged but brilliant for a small family or couple alike. My only gripe was the mattress quality left a lot to desire. The Pizzas available at the onsite restaurant are also top notch. We will return.

Had an amazing stay. Great location, cabins were comfortable and we loved that there was a restaurant on site which had great food. If we have another trip to Canberra this would again be my top pick
