Pool was not open

My family and I stayed for the weekend as we came from Florida to visit our Georgia family. The first night we stayed, it was okay. However, when we came back to our room, expecting it to be clean, it was not cleaned at all. We had three Walmart bags left in the room, a top to some food we ate wasn’t thrown away by housekeeping, the vent in the bathroom was falling down. First night of stay, there was a beer bottle cap left near the bed. I don’t drink beer or alcohol, for context. When I asked to speak to the manager, the receptionist called “Austin.” He offered to refund both nights, but when it was time to check out, the receptionist at the time said notes stated that the refund would be for 50% of one night. That was not the agreement made by Austin. Before leaving, I took two business cards to ensure that this is reported further! I wouldn’t recommend staying unless you’re ok with a dirty pool and an unclean room. I am attaching pictures.

Clean but needs pool work

When we arrived at our hotel around 9:30/9:45 there were stains on the sheets, hair on the bed, and all over the floor of the bathroom. We asked if our sheets could be changed and was told that there were no cleaning staff on duty at the time. Instead, we had to attempt to change our sheets, our self, and we asked for a broom to sweep, but no broom was available. The young lady at the front desk said that someone will come up to sweep so We left out to allow them times to sweep but no came. When we returned to the room, we started to change the sheets out ourselves noticing no one ever came up to sweep or anything while doing so we discovered there was a bug on the back of the pillow and then in the corner my sister ended up killing two more bugs. We went down to the front desk to speak with the staff. She was very nice. She tried to find us a room. There were no rooms available at first and then all of a sudden there was one handicap room Available. We inspected the room. It was fine. We went ahead and changed into that room but we were still very skeptical and uneasy about our stay. We were so nervous that we didn’t even sleep under the covers or anything we laid on top most of us in our clothes. both staff members told us that they would notify the manager in which they did. I went to the front desk around 3:05pm the next day to speak with him and he was not there yet so we left and went to our event. When we returned, we spoke to the manager, who was not helpful.

Rooms was very clean. AC works great. Staff was very nice and kind. Breakfast was good. Would stay again when back in area

Had my infant in the room, let her walk around, discovered her socks were soaked without going in the bathroom. Carpet was soaked by the A/C unit. Mold everywhere. Room smelled awful. Carpet was cut up by ac unit, this was an ongoing issue in that room. James was less than helpful when trying to rectify the situation. He told me I could leave so I did. I’m so glad I did because the next Holiday Inn I went to was fantastic!!!! This place needs some work!

Staff was not very friendly, welcoming, or accommodating. Room across the hall had a party all night and ended with loud altercations in the hallway which nothing was done about. Room could have been cleaner. The shower did not have enough water pressure. I stayed in a suite and indicated that our party had 3 adults and 2 children; however, they gave us 2 towels per day.

Show up to check in and it’s a huge hole at the hotel entrance on the above shelter piece. Needs repair ASAP. Should have been a red flag. Tried to check in early but the front desk person said that housekeeping does the double beds and suites last and our room wasn’t ready. 🤔. Had a baseball tourney so we had to check in around 8:00 PM. New front desk person was really nice. Go to the elevator and it has a caution sign in the elevator where someone spilled something on the elevator floor. That sign was there the whole night and no one ever went to clean it up. Get to the room. It is in need of updating. Tub has rust stains. Paint chipped. Hard wood floor had something sticky on it. Sink barely drained. Six or seven hairs found in the tub and on the toilet seat. Both beds were clean so that was a positive. Definitely not worth $220 a night.

Once we arrived there were bugs on the door . Bathroom was very dirty other hair all over the floor and in the bath tub . Microwave was dirty inside and out .

There was loldnin the bathroom, The AC unit was very loud coming on and off and hard to get into a deep sleep.

Good location- close to highway, so get a room on the even number side so don't hear the traffic. It wasn't bad, but if you are a light sleeper, it could be bothersome.

The room was clean but the tv didn’t work nor the phone in the room.

Great location and customer service. We didn't have an ironing board.

The property is conveniently located right off the highway, which makes this location ideal for business. The breakfast served is also good. The only complaint is that the bathrooms in the rooms are dated. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and clean.

The staff was courteous and the room was very nice and spacious.

Very helpful and friendly customer service at front desk. We enjoyed our stay.

We booked a king suite for one night. We arrived late and the suite had been recently and heavily smoked in. The front desk clerk was very apologetic and helpful. The hotel was full but she found a standard queen room for us. She was not authorized to reduce the rate due to the room downgrade but said she would make sure the manager knew how bad the room was. When Expedia followed up the next week about the rate reduction, the manager refused to offer a lower rate. In the end, we paid the king suite rate for a night in a standard queen room. This motel is fine as long as you go in with low customer service expectations.

People running halls at all hours. People banging on doors at all hours. Alwrted staff and NOTHING was done.

Front desk agent and everyone was very friendly and nice

The customer service at check in was excellent. The room was very clean and smelled good. Would definitely stay here again if needed. I booked the wrong night and the hotel was very accommodating.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and I was able to rest peacefully in my room after a long night of work.

It is close to the VA hospital.

Very friendly staff, convenient to the interstate with some stores and restaurants around. I would have given 5 stars but the room smelled like wet towels and the carpet needs to be clean. Didn’t have breakfast so I can’t speak on that.

The only thing I can recommend for y’all to change if that is the preference options, it was OK, but there is some things that could have been better and the food could have been hotter just sitting there in no way to keep the food hot

Very nice and clean room that was cost efficient. Complimentary breakfast had a good variety of items daily and staff gave excellent service. The con to the stay is that although not terrible wished the bed was a little more comfortable. But overall very satisfied with my stay here.

When you stay at Holiday Inn Express. You think it's going to be very nice but it wasn't. When you walk in the lobby it smelled like cigarette smoke. Our room was clean but smelled like dirty feet. The coffee was awful. Beds were comfortable and pillows were soft.

We use Holiday Inns quite a bit when on our travels and on the whole they provide a no frills comfortable stay. The main thing that drives my wife mad is the very cheap quality cutlery they provide at breakfast. The knives usually snap while you try to butter you toast!

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast provided a nice variety as well as a “Grab and Go” bag. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My one suggestion would be to have separate lines at check-in for those with reservations and those without. Waited 20 minutes. Unacceptable.
