The hotel is very very nice. The food was phenomenal. The staff is friendly and helpful. The one thing that did not make this stay excellent was the parking situation. We arrived at 10pm and we were not informed until check in that there were no available parking spots available until the next day. It was very frustrating having to parallel park in an alley a mile away. We ended up having to move the car at 7am the next day and then paid for valet service the following night. We would have enjoyed being offered the option to pay for valet service prior to arrival to ensure a parking spot was reserved upon arrival.

Everything was great except fitness room was terrible. No weight equipment other than some dumbbells. The two treadmills were broken and exercise ball flat. The hotel has two elevators and one was not functioning for over a day so that was annoying’

Close to everything. It would be nice to have had a sauna or steamroom. My husband had an injury and couldn't get wet so unfortunately we couldn't use the indoor pool or swim in the ocean across the street. Loved the Balcony.

This property is very convenient and walkable to central Ponta Delgada. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Our room had a few issues, the floor wasn’t that nice. In the bathroom there were some old marks/holes on the water tap switch. And water kept spilling onto the floor from the water tap leaking. Air-condition and minibar didn’t work either. Room had a decent size and an ok balcony, fast internet, broad selection of tv channels (lots of football channels). Nice welcome snacks/drink. Hotel breakfast was good. Housekeeping was ok, although missing small stuff like we didn’t get wash cloths every day. On our last night at the hotel (which was a really sunny/hot day) I called the front desk asking about the minibar..we wanted some cold drinks. And suggested maybe since it was not working that we could get some ice cubes. That will be 7 euros. I explain again that the minibar is not working..but still cost. So instead they sent 3 persons over one hour to fix that minibar…taking up precious holiday time for us. And end result no real cold drinks or happy guests. But at least the air-condition worked the last night. They hand out extra towel cards at check in (if u want to borrow towels for the hot springs), but if you lose your card, it will cost you 150 euro! Amazing price. Was an ok stay overall though..but one would expect a bit more from a 5-star hotel. Maybe next-door hotel Marina Atlantico is a better option (from hearing from someone who stayed there). Side remark: We have free room upgrade (gold rewards) - but still not an option in a hotel that seemed not half full.

Great hotel and staff. No complaints other than a minor one at night somewhere in the area is very loud music till passed midnight and from room 305 you can hear it. Closing the patio door helps but then it gets stuffy. Other than that minor issue everything was wonderful. We used the vallet service to park and was well worth it. Free breakfast fantastic pool very nice

What a wonderful place to stay!! Gracious staff, the best hotel breakfast we have ever had and lovely accommodations. Walking distance to everything as it is right downtown. We had a balcony with a lovely water view. The room was spotless and the bed super comfortable. And the staff even went out of their way to make our 30th anniversary extra special when I mentioned it in passing. Can’t recommend highly enough!

The breakfast was fabulous. The dining room has a fabulous view of the ocean and sunrise. The room and bed were very comfortable . Our deck was facing the bay, and was quite relaxing . The general theme of the hotel reflects the maritime days, which is wonderful. It is indeed a Grand Hotel! Would recommend and return.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. There were some added services such as water bottles in our car every day, and turn down service. However, I was disappointed in the bed choices (only double or twin) for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. This was not luxurious at all. Also, the toilet paper was like sand paper. It’s hard to believe they could not source something better. Breakfast was mediocre, with some items not being hot, or fresh.

We had a good stay at this hotel. The location is very good. Staff were friendly and helpful - they arranged a private tour for us. The room is comfortable but does not have enough useful storage and the wifi regularly drops connection. The ammenities are less than I expect for a 5 star establishment. The indoor pool is dark and uninviting, and the gym has little equipment. The breakfast provides a good start to the day. We were entitled to VIP perks but these were not offered (I did not bother to pursue once we were settled in our room).

Service was top notch. Room was elegant-modern with rain-shower style shower and brass fittings. Five to ten minute walk to lots of restaurants and bars. Great view facing the ocean. Saturday night it can get busy out front which brings some noise but it felt more like background noise and didn't keep me up.

Confirmed reservation one week before, but when I arrived they told me only one room was available. They told me I could get my second room on a different floor. I said I wanted a discount. They made me show my email confirmation. After a long wait, a supervisor was called and I got the rooms I reserved, but not adjoining. No discount and no apology for the very long wait and not holding the rooms I reserved. Would not recommend this hotel!

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly and even assisted with valet parking, which made everything so easy. Everyone we met was professional and friendly, but a special thank you goes to Ines at the front desk. She welcomed us with a smile, helped us get settled, and went above and beyond to arrange restaurant reservations and recommend things to see and do around the island. We also had the pleasure of chatting with the manager, who was extremely personable and genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay. His approachability and warm conversation added to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable, and the view overlooking the marina was absolutely beautiful — waking up to it each morning was unforgettable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety, and the hotel’s location made it easy to explore Ponta Delgada on foot. This was my first time in São Miguel, and it will definitely not be my last. We would absolutely choose this hotel again when we return.

Staff very accommodating. One of our party of 4 had a birthday and a surprise cake appeared in their room that day! Offered us early check in as we arrived on an early morning flight. The restaurant stayed open to accommodate us after a late emergency room visit. Overall extraordinary, friendly service.

Spectacular high end property and the best hotel in Ponta Delgada. Location couldn't be better - right on the marina, stores and short 3-4 block walk to city center. Lovely staff and front desk, amazing restaurants and lobby bar. Food and drinks are world class. Highly highly recommended.
