I had a wonderful experience staying at the Holiday Inn Express Vancouver during a business trip, so I decided to stay at this location when I traveled from Toronto for a relaxing getaway. I was happy to find that the staff here were also very friendly and kind. Everyone I interacted with, including the front desk, housekeeping, and café staff, was welcoming and helpful. There were a couple of areas that I think could be improved. The cleanliness of the room was not quite up to my expectations. I noticed some pieces of garbage on the sofa and floor, and the baby crib we borrowed was not clean. I would especially recommend thoroughly wiping down the crib before providing it to guests, since babies can touch and lick almost anything. The complimentary breakfast was also not quite as good as what I experienced at the Vancouver location. The cinnamon bread was dry and hard, and there was not much variety of fruits and vegetables. Since I had such a good experience with the breakfast in Vancouver, I was expecting something similar here and was a little surprised by the difference. Overall, I appreciated the friendly and welcoming staff and enjoyed my stay. I hope the hotel can continue improving its housekeeping and breakfast quality. I would be happy to stay again if these areas improve.
