- relatively big rooms for Japan, enough space for luggage - balcony has great view of the port area - friendly and helpful staff - shuttle bus to Sannomiya station every 20 minutes, might be full at checkout times - nice lobby - reasonably priced dinner buffet - small Family Mart inside the hotel, Starbucks right outside - renovation would be appropriate - shower in the bathtub - travellator goes up to the lobby on the 3rd floor, but not down, have to use stairs or the hidden elevator to the parking garage - on the weekend youngsters will bring their tuned cars and motorbikes to the area in front of the hotel, so it can get a bit loud (but never unsafe)

Had a great night in Kobe at this hotel, perfect location to explore Meriken park at night and there was a shuttle bus to and from the central stations. The hotel is massive. Really comfy beds. Friendly staff, there’s a family mart in the hotel which was mega handy and on site Restarant options.

The hotel staff were all helpful and friendly from check in, to bar and cleaning staff. Rooms were very clean with comfortable bed and everything you need provided including razors,toothbrushes and even phone chargers.The only negative was the spa which was not upto the standard of the rest of the hotel it was not very clean , needed some updating and should have been included in the price. Views from all the rooms are fantastic from any direction a real plus point of the hotel. Very accessible for shopping and restaurants would definitely stay again .

Beautiful hotel, unfortunately my experience was not good. I booked an additional night and had to check out and check back in 3 hours later. I requested a late checkout, $3,000 yen for 1 extra hour. The bar on the 14th floor charged $1,100 yen as a cover charge. Access to the pool/sauna $1,650 yen, $300 yen for bath hat. I called the bellhop to assist with my luggage, not available to assist.

トイレの足元が少々黒ずみがあり気になりました。バスタブに浸かった時、丁度目線がいって心地悪くリラックスしずらいです。掃除する時は上から見える汚れは綺麗にしても視線を落とし、左右確認が必要かも！また洗面台の蛇口回りがやや大ざっぱで細かさがない掃除ですそれとベッドの上のライト設置器具のネジが緩んで、グラグラしてるので睡眠中にライトが顔、頭に落ちそうでしたちなみに部屋番号は741号です早めにライト器具修理必要です

Great view from the hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good given it’s right by the port. Lobby is gorgeous, however condition and maintenance of the hotel room need some improvements for an Oriental Hotel standards. Carpet is showing sign of age and have stains in many places, bathroom has a slight unpleasant odour, bath tub and sink are clearly not cleaned between guests. If these can improve, I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

My room was dirty upon arrival. The walls were dirty and the carpet had a lot of stains. The fabric chairs also had a lot of questionable stains. The staff was very nice and helpful but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel due to its uncleanliness.

This property is fine. It is large and convenient but tired. The common areas are a cross between a tacky cruise ship and an over the top Las Vegas Casino. The rugs in the common areas could use a good cleaning or replacement. The room smelled like someone had at one time smoked in it. The pillows were as hard as rocks. Rooms were dated and could use a solid refresh. Would I stay here again? Never, but if you are on a budget, the price was good.

The walk from the subway is a little bit of a hike but not too bad. The view from the room is beautiful at night with all the lights. We stayed in Room 1336, a spacious corner room with a wrap around balcony which offered views of the Port Tower, Mosaic, and Ferris Wheel. The room is updated with plenty of outlets to charge devices. I have always dreamed of staying at this hotel and I was not disappointed. When we walked into the room, my husband's first reaction was that it was "swanky". We did not eat at any of the restaurants. There is an area for welcome drinks which included sparkling wine, coffee, fruit infused water and chocolates. Taxi to the Shin-Kobe was about ¥1800 which was worth not having to drag my suitcase uphill.

This was by far the worst hotel experience I had in Japan. The staff were notably unhelpful, and the hotel is definitely not infant-friendly. Early check-in is not allowed—even just 30 minutes before the standard time—even when rooms are clearly available. The front desk also made no effort to explain the facilities or amenities; I only found out about the direct shuttle to Sannomiya Station through another tourist staying elsewhere. There’s no luggage delivery service, so if you're planning a stay here, pack light. Infant cots come with an additional nightly charge, and there’s no microwave in the room (even with suites). The freezer didn’t work either, which is a major inconvenience if you need to store breastmilk or ice packs. Cleanliness was disappointing too—there were stains in both the bathtub and on the bed sheets. The only upside was the excellent soundproofing. Even though the hotel is located right at the harbor, you won’t hear the ferries. That said, if you book a west-facing room, don’t expect a great view—ferries may be docked there, blocking it.

The room view was gorgeous, and the entire hotel was beautiful. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and dinner buffet with all you can eat crab. The quality of food was great. I felt the receptionist at the front desk was very rude. She was very short in her responses to me and not welcoming. As an American I would not recommend this hotel to another American. As the first representative of the hotel they should find someone who makes international guests feel welcome. It made me wonder if it reflected the sentiment of the entire hotel. The lack of effort she made to explain the hotel amenities was poor.

Overall had a nice stay here. The hotel property is big and gives a very 80s/90s yuppie feel and room is decent with Netflix enabled TV and a big balcony area. Plus point with the view if you have a room facing the sea. Only few drawback are the location being a little on the outskirts from the central area but luckily there were slews of taxi ready to be hailed outside of the property’s carpark.
