The elevator was out of order, the ice machine was out of order and the restaurant/bar was closed for maintenance. I am Marriott member and chose this for location and convenience as I was alone and not wanted the option of food. No knowledge of this was disclosed other than the elevator would be under repair the day of checkout. No compensation was offered for inconvenience. However, the staff were all very kind.

The Bitstro was amazing - the young lady that took care of our drinks and food one night was so very nice and full of personality even with everyone it seemed. It was a pleasurable and beautiful stay. We will be back again

We stayed for only one night- family of four- and had a very nice experience. The parking was super easy, check in was simple, and there were lots of amenities at the hotel. I especially enjoyed sitting out by the pool with my family in the evening overlooking the sound. It was super relaxing and peaceful. Also all shops and restaurants of downtown New Bern are within easy walking distance. Great stay.

This property was very close to the areas we were visiting. Uber was there within minutes to take us to the wedding venue nearby. We didn’t use any of the facilities at the property, but there was a nice dining area where they had made to order breakfast & coffee.

When we arrived everything went well. When we got to our room the door was ajar, but everything inside was fine so we just let it go. The room and hallways were definitely not as clean as they should be for this quality of hotel/price. There were stains, dust buildup, and visual dirtiness throughout. Probably my most disappointed stay with a Marriott thus far.

So disappointing! Wonderful location, balcony with water views and lovely bed linens. Dirty room!!! Bathroom floor very dirty by toilet…yuck. Frank dirt on ottoman and sofa making them unusable. Shower liner didn’t reach tub, so water got on floor, only one bath mat and no refreshed linens, except by request and then available only by pickup at desk.

I booked this place hoping for a *beary* relaxing getaway, but instead I got a real grizzly experience. The moment I walked in, I was hit with a musty stench trying (and failing) to hibernate under layers of synthetic fragrance. It didn’t mask the smell—it just made my nose bear arms. The bathroom was *a total bear trap*. Hair in the shower, grime in the corners—definitely not the den I was expecting to freshen up in. I bear-ly made it through. As for the bed? Let’s just say I had a *fitted-sheet fiasco*. The sheets were not just inside out (talk about polar opposites of care), but the fitted sheet kept slipping off, baring the mattress every time I rolled over. Cozy? Not by a fur stretch. Honestly, I expected a bit more polish and care, but this stay left me clawing for comfort. Would I return? Not in a million bear hibernation cycles.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Everything else is average or below average in terms of cleanliness and service. They don’t provide room service but every three days, which this time was fine for us considering we were on a road trip and it was a one night stay, but I couldn’t imagine being a family or stuck in there for three days with no actual service. The sinks were super low. When my husband first said something about it, I thought it was because he’s 6’2” but I’m 5’3” and was hunched over that low sink (wasn’t an accessible room). It was just very low, low toilet, very little water pressure (had to turn around three times to get wet in the shower, and forget washing shampoo out of your hair). It seems like a hotel that has had a lot of cleaning & maintenance shortcuts and cutbacks. If Location is a thing that matters to you then you can probably tolerate it for a short period because it is beside a beautiful lake park and in the heart of history with a lot of things you can walk to. Otherwise, find alternatives.

We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in New Bern and booked a king room with balcony. The views were very nice. The room itself was large but the AC was leaking and the carpet was wet in the room and leaked onto the patio outside. The AC was not very cold either but kept the room decent. The room itself was overall clean and nice. The staff were very accommodating and nice during check in and out making the process easy.

It is a very nice place. We had a corner room with balcony next to park. Lots of activity at park made it noisy and less private. Breakfast and staff there excellent.

The options would not let me pick other. This hotel was $300 a night. Our TV did not work, hotel front office could not fix it. No repair person available because it was the weekend. We were told to go watch the TV in the lobby. Hotel manager called us Monday. Said his repair guy told him it was working. He basically called us a liar. I have made a complaint to the corporate office and am waiting on a reply.

Our stay at Courtyard in New Bern was delightful. Very clean. Comfy bed! And it was the perfect location, close enough to walk everywhere downtown, included the brewery triangle out on Pollock and the Tryon Palace (a must see). The staff was especially kind and thoughtful. We will definitely go back!

Check-in was a breeze and the staff was so friendly. I live in the area but stayed in town for an event. It was so convenient to walk back to the hotel and not have to worry about ordering an Uber or trying to find parking downtown on a busy Saturday night.

Very nice hotel, staff extremely friendly and helpful! Beds slept well. I only had one issue with the shower not being completely clean, but again it was quickly taken care of. I will definitely stay there again. Also, no free breakfast.

Maybe the best location in New Bern. Very new, not at all beat up, comfortable beds and pillows. We ate one night at the bistro, which was better than average. Housekeeping is every other day. So if you are staying more than one night, you will need to ask for additional pods of coffee for the next morning. No complaints at all. I d stay here again.

First thing they touted was the bar and bistro.. I go out for several meetings and come back for dinner only to find that due to staff and a slow night they closed early.. And by early I mean 750pm.... So i had to go back out. THEN they touted their wonderful breakfast, and I go down there at 915 AM and they had closed up breakfast, had no coffee, and basically were like "yeah sorry". UNACCEPTABLE
