Motel 6-Oakland, CA - Embarcadero

Stayed one night ! The place is very run down , shifty characters around , no coffee , in room or Office … No way will I stay again !!

I thought there would be a microwave in the room most rooms do had to waste food because of it but other than that it was quite & security was visible every time I went out the room which I appreciated

The room was great, Stephanie was really nice when checking me in. There was a little taco truck nearby to get a quick bite, and plenty of parking. Thanks!

Lots of parking in the lot, was never full during my stay. Check in and check out were super simple. Rooms were clean and well kept, no issues at all.

The ice machine consistently does not work. The lobby to the main office is closed to customers who have booked rooms. Additionally, they have changed their policy to applying a hold on your credit card for incidentals, which is not disclosed until you arrive at the property....this is Motel 6, not some luxury hotel. Horrible service and the property is dirty. I will not return.

For my own reasons I choose this location, but now, the morning coffee is no longer offered and the microwave was removed. Not happy about that.

It was OK. The room was sparse but clean. No fridge or microwave. Only one chair. Limited shelving and horizontal storage space. Sink was loose from wall and wobbling. Had to ask for a roll of toilet paper. No coffee available one morning and ice machine out of order. Vending machine area very dingy.

Everything was perfect when we stayed earlier this week! When we pulled in and noticed we were going to be able to fish in the morning in the marina next to this motel! We were more than excited about our choice to stay here at Motel 6! There was a small deck over the water, with a wash station to clean your catch! We checked in really late with Lambert at the front desk. He was fast and asked if we had preferences to a top our bottom floor... we said we'd love the bottom floor near the water, and he was back in seconds handing me back my I.D. and room key. As we walked to our room, we were so happy and excited that our room faced the beautiful deck over the small marina. Our room (148) had bright walls with wooden floors, a flat screen TV, a mini fridge, and a microwave. We had two queen beds in the room. I usually pick a room with 2 queen beds because the rooms are larger. I can pull the extra pillows to one bed to the other, and I don't have to set my bags on the floor, either. We had plenty of towels and hands soaps. The shower had great pressure. The beds were very firm (felt new). Thank goodness for blackout curtains. We had a wonderful time. My only regret is that we didn't get to this location sooner in the day or stay longer at this location. We can't wait to come back!!!

The rooms are stuffy the windows do not open. The pool is. Not a pool

Receptionist was very nice. The first room reeked of cigarette smoke (all are non smoking rooms) and the next didnt smell much better. The smell of weed coming from next door was overwhelming, especially as I am really allergic to all kinds of smoke. It was my third and last stay here.

Tv didn’t work;no microwave and the heater was broken.Also the sheets were badly stained in one of the rooms

I'm not sure why this motel rates so high. The rooms always smell bad from people smoking in them, everything is terribly worn down. It's not very nice at all.

It was awful it was cockroaches coming out my refrigerator and coming out of my shower

Property located on a beautiful scenery with a water view. Everything was perfect except the beds provided the sheets had residual stains from previous customers as well as the mattress...a lot of stains, it was the main reason we left early. If they get some new beds and linens this would be a higher rating stay. The staff are all welcoming and do the best they can with what they have to offer. Pets can stay free here and that was the biggest plus.

You get what you pay for. Two comfortable beds, bathroom & Telly. Very clean.

Only 1 person staffs the office, and he was constantly going on break and making people wait. This is ridiculous for a hotel of this size when people are checking in constantly. When I arrived the sign said Back in 15 minutes.There were 3 parties that needed to check in, so I waited an unacceptably long time which made me late for my event nearby. The room I was assigned hadn't been cleaned, so I immediately went back to the office only to find a new sign up saying Back in 30 minutes! I banged on the window and the guy finally came to help me, but he complained that he wasn't getting paid to help me because it was his lunch break. That's not my problem. While waiting I saw a young lady in a very short skirt, thong underwear, and high heels saunter across the parking lot heading for one of the rooms. It's that kind of neighborhood. Most of the other guests I saw there looked very sad and beaten down by life, as though this was their last stop before homelessness. The new room I was given had a broken AC unit; all the buttons were busted out so I couldn't turn it on. The location is excellent and the view on the water is magnificent, but the hotel itself is a disaster.

Not motel’s fault, but people in the room above were dropping things on the floor late into the night and again early in the morning. My room was located near the stairs and was very noisy.

Quiet and comfortable but unfortunately there was no hot water in the shower.

Faucet aerator needed to be changed, no pressure in sink faucet, had to use tub faucet

Pros: Pets stay for free, it’s nice to walk along the marina. During the day police cars are parked in the parking lot, giving a sense of security. Cons: A night the People staying in adjacent rooms were extremely noisy , non stop until 3 am in the morning. Also another group of people hanged out outside their rooms, smoking and with loud music starting at 6 am.

The location is nice near the water. But the bed is getting old and need to be replaced. There is like a sink hole in the left side in the bed that I slept in. Water for shower is small and not hot, just a luke warm.

The area was nice. Great views. The hot water in the shower was very limited. They put a screw in the handle so you can only turn the water to luke warm. Won’t stay here again for that reason alone. After a long day you want a hot shower and nope not going to get it at this hotel.

Location is nice, on the waterfront, but the room was very basic and not very good condition. For this area it’s a good price, though, so I’ll forgive the condition. I’d recommend an upstairs room if you want to enjoy the view.

I stay here frequently . The staff is great , but this time I had to get moved from a room with a broken tv and no heat to a room that had a circuit breaker problem . Hopefully better next time .

Good area with a great view of the boats and pier. The service was very friendly. The room however is worse for wear. You get what you pay for. The toilet seat was broken, the room smelled of smoke, the bed was dented from the middle. Floors were dirty. House keepers were super nice though. Area is in a safe side of town and as a single female I felt safe.

Staff was the most unprofessional and rude. The latin pregnant receptionist entered our room without consent. She needs more training before being put In a Customer Facing role - she is the most unprofessional and rude staff I've ever encountered

Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy check-in and checkout.

I arrived around 1pm and asked about early checkin. I was told there were no rooms available until 2:30, so I waited in the parking lot. The attendant put a sign on the window at 2:20, stating "Back in 30 mins". At 3pm there was a line formed wa s line formed waiting to checkin. We all waited for over an hour, with no updates from staff about when someone would start checking guests in. A guy arrived sometime after 4pm.

They did not follow through with the booking with the card or the confirmation number that I had from the website the people I dealt with were extremely rude and I traveled very very far away from home at least 2 hours away they left me pretty much nowhere else to stay besides my vehicle what I had it all on my card and everywhere else

Good room for the price staff was very professional. I will stay there again.

Booked online something quick and near the children’s hospital due to my nephew getting major brain surgery. I get there and they tell me I have to put a major credit card on file. 1st of all this was not stated anywhere when booking, 2nd they were super rude and didn’t help me resolve the issue. Not everyone has a credit card this is what is ridiculous! He cancelled my booking and I was stuck trying to hunt for a hotel after that. WORSE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER!

Hidden gem of a location. Despite the status of the hotel name. It sits on the embarcadero and is fortunate enough to be situated on the waterfront with amazing quiet views of the water.

My U-Haul was stolen from the parking lot overnight, with all my life’s possessions. DO NOT STAY HERE! The area is extremely unsafe and crime-ridden.

There were pimps and prostitutes doing business out of the hotel the first night i arrived with my child. The hotel has homeless people living in the property and the parking lot has cars with broken windows and cars with boots on. If i could have gotten a refund i would have never checked in.

Bare bones motel. Decent room. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. check in was delayed because their system was down. Couldn't get a room key for hours because the key system was down. No coffee anywhere in the morning. Had vending machines and ice. No coffee, shampoo in the rooms. One restaurant nearby.

The only problem was a very bright light right outside my window, and the curtains didn't keep out all the light. I liked the taco truck parked right outside on the road - good food, and very convenient.

The property is well located for access with a car to downtown Oakland and to head into the city. Dining options are limited to the location.

No food options, beds were like sleeping on metal springs with a bed sheet over it ... super ghetto, trashy . They charge you if you want to cancel to go elsewhere. My 2 cents don't don't waste your money HOT MESS HORRIBLE. You can never go inside lobby, everything done threw small side window 😡

Staff was great!! nice Hotel parking for 30ft truck but the Are around is not that great and limited dining

First, let me say that the staff we came into contact with were friendly and efficient. Though the floor in the room needed a good wash, the bed was clean and comfortable. However, there are a few things I wish I had known before booking: 1) It can be some distance between the parking lot and the room and there are no luggage trolleys. 2) There appears to be a number of permanent residents. They have to check out and check back in every 3 weeks but it still appears that they are still there for long term. 3) The smell of cannabis is very strong throughout the property. 4) There is no place close by to eat.
