Stayed 5 nights

Overall I enjoyed my stay, but I probably won't stay here again and here is why. Rooms: Modern and clean rooms. Very nice and I appreciated housekeeping coming every other day to clean. I loved the ice and water machine on our floor. They had the good ice. Also, there was a guest laundry room that you can download an app and pay. I didn't have a problem with that since I never have cash on me and needed to use it in a pinch. The view we had from our room was probably the worst view ever (another building that wasn't the cleanest) but you're in downtown Oakland so I didn't expect much but also didn't expect that. That room alone should've been discounted. Breakfast: I loved that breakfast is til 10am on weekdays. But, the pork sausage and chicken sausage I'm not a fan. The smoked sausage and bacon were good. Loved that they had hot water for tea available all day as well as coffee, plates and eating utensils. Valet: it's downtown Oakland, there's no place to park so you will be paying $50/overnight stay. Fine. They even have a number you text when you're ready to get your car. Usually in 15 mins you're good. But, if you miss it by a few mins you'll have to wait on valet to come back in order to get your keys. But towards the end of my stay (read very last day) they gave my keys to the front desk person but I didn't know she had them and she didn't know I was looking for the valet guy so I ended up waiting a good 10 mins for him to come. Communication could be better.

Majority of staff was very nice, except one this morning. Nothing bad, just not wanting to go out of her way to provide the extra mile.

Room was clean, staff we’re really helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was great… The hotel’s location really worked for us as we had to travel into San Francisco (train station is 2 blocks/5min walk away) and also visit family in Oakland. Overall, a great hotel👍
