SpringHill Suites by Marriott Morgantown

Overall it was very nice stay. Clean room, staff is very friendly, and breakfast was good and I like the 24x7 coffee. Indoor swimming pool was out of service, the hot tub was out of service, and the laundry service was out of service with no mention of it while booking.

Other than getting stuck on the elevator, it was a nice room. Attendant was nice and helpful. Breakfast wasn't so good.

Freshly renovated. Clean. Beds were very soft. Not firm like I’m used too. But nice. Slept well. Pool and Horton both renovated. Hot tub needs hotter eater. Not quite right. Had hot breakfast. Pretty good. Sausage biscuits and egg frittatas. As main dish. Very nice and polite.

I picked hotel compared to others for hot tub but after I checked in found out that both the pool and hot tub were out of service. They suggested I drive to another property in the freezing sleet. Bedding was extremely thin and room was freezing. Had a hard time finding thermostat. It is hidden behind Tv but couldn’t be moved from 68 so did not sleep well as too cold. Very noisy in the am. Disappointing for the price.

My third stay at this hotel. Always clean and neat, service people are very friendly, and the breakfast is excellent. It would have been better if the pool and spa areas had been open on my last two trips, but they were not.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. What I want most in my hotel stay. My only complaint is they never cleaned the room. Not a big deal, but this was never indicated, so we were surprised they never checked on towels, soap, and tp.

The hotel appears to be a recent remodel of furnishings which were nice. I had an issue with the condition of several areas. The exhaust vent in the bathroom was covered with dust bunnies. The shower caulk was mildewed and needed replacing. The parking lot and landscaping were a shamble. We had a Friday night stay and were leaving early before 7:00. No breakfast before 7:00 seemed rather early even for a weekend. That was disappointing.

Bathroom was disgusting. Shower curtain dirty and stained, grout dirty, wallpaper peeling from walls. Carpet in room was heavily stained, would NOT walk on that carpet in bare feet. Beds were small. Pool was not great, but ok. Pool bathroom, nasty. Front desk staff very nice and helpful. Would NOT stay here again.

This motel was one of the best I have stayed at with absolutely no complaints. The girls at the front are wonderful, very welcoming. The room and bathroom , linen and towels were spotless. I had forgotten something in the fridge and freezer ; the girls went out of their way to look for the item and saved it for us until we returned a few days later. All in all this motel is excellent!

There was mold in the shower and on the ceiling. The bed was comfortable, the sheet didn’t want to stay in the bed though. The hallway carpet needs cleaned.

Decent hotel but the fold out sofa was soiled and there were stains on the sheets provided. I did go to the front desk but they were sold out but did get me more sheets so we could double up.

Property looked newly renovated. Had a great breakfast each morning. I don't mind reusing towels but the trash was not taken out every day. Trash was overflowing but wasn't taken out.

I have never had an experience like this at a hotel, especially a Marriott property. I was traveling with my husband and 2 children. I knew we would be checking in late, so I called the hotel to notify them. We arrived a bit after midnight, checked in, and went to our room. We put our things down, and I started looking around the room. The sink was full of dirt, hair, etc. I cleaned it up, thinking that perhaps someone had done some work in the room and left a mess at the sink. Then, I noticed that the sheets and pillow cases didn’t look clean. The same dirt and hairs were on the sheets, with the addition of eye makeup on the pillow cases. I went downstairs to inform the person at the desk. He gave me another room. I went to that room to check it before getting my family and going to the room. This room had hair on the sheets and eye makeup on the pillow cases. I went back downstairs, and was put in another room (this was our 3rd room!). This room was okay. The bathroom floor wasn’t very clean, but we made it work. It was nearly 1 am at the point, and I had two kids with me. At no point did the person at the front desk even apologize. In fact, he didn’t even seem surprised. At checkout, I told the two people at the front desk what had happened. They thanked me for letting them know and said they would have the rooms cleaned. 3 rooms, 3 people, and NO ONE even apologized! The person who managed breakfast was the only person who was helpful in any way.

Not having a door on the bathroom sink area is awful because it’s right in front of the beds, no privacy for the people sleeping nor the person using sink mirror etc. I was blow drying my hair directly in front of 3 people trying to sleep which we had to use our own extension cords for because the bathroom counter area outlet did not work. Only one mirror in the entire room, and they were doing remodeling on our floor, complete with scaffolding directly blocking our door upon exit at one point.

We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and clean our room was…. Breakfast was great, too! Friendly staff.

No working TV

The building is surrounded by flood lights. These lights shine directly into the room windows. In my room at least, there was no black out shade or other way to block the light. My room was too brightly lit by the flood lights to sleep. When did this country become so afraid of the dark that we can't even turn out the lights to sleep?

When we went to inquire about the breakfast buffet as we checked out, the front desk guy said they were running a bit behind, then proceeded to fill his own plate full of eggs, bacon and cheese, before returning to the front desk to sit and eat it as he checked us out. Very rude and unprofessional! We stay at Spring Hill suites quite often, but will certainly not be back at this one. Very disappointing.

The room is spacious and recently remodeled. I'd recommend this hotel.

The air conditioning unit was disgusting. Hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time piled up dirt and old gum stuck in the grills. very outdated.

We arrived at the hotel around 2:30 am after being stuck on Rt. 68 after a tractor trailer turned over. I called when we were in traffic to notify our late arrival and was told I was the fourth person who called and not to worry because there will be someone at desk when we check in. However, when we arrived we were told that we may not have a room because they overbooked. They were able to find us a room on the third floor and it had to be checked first to make sure it was clean and we were told, “I’m pretty sure it’s all good and clean but let me know it if isn’t”. I was a little taken back by that. However we were so exhausted that we were just ready to crash at that point. We had breakfast the next morning which was a nice option. We were staying to participate into the open house WVU was having. We asked the employee at the front desk (I forget her name but she had longer red hair) for a late check out because by the time we got checked in it was almost 3 am. She said the best they could do was 12:30. She wasn’t budging. All we wanted to do was be able to return after the open house to freshen up before hitting the road back to NJ. I was hoping for a 3pm check out. She refused. My sister who was with me contacted her husband who happens to be a titanium Marriott rewards member. It was only then that she gave us a 2pm check out. I was just a little disappointed at the lack of empathy and compassion; especially after returning at 2 and finding the place pretty empty.

What I loved about this hotel was the people. I was traveling as a single and I felt like all the staff were friendly and checking up on me. They were special.

Quality, well-kept hotel with excellent, customer-oriented staff, especially Abi. We enjoyed our stay there!

We were charged through Expedia for this booking AND through the hotel, so we paid double. I have been unable get a refund for the second charge because there was not a manager on site at checkout or when I have called. It’s on me to keep calling and hoping I can speak with someone as no one offers to have a manager call me back.

I requested an early check-in. When I got there they were very rude. When I explained why I had requested and needed the early check-in they simply did not care and was very rude. I was given an room but I had to fight for it.

When there wasn’t a cart available to transport our luggage and other things the evening manager immediately offered to help and came out to our car and with us took them to our room. We offered a tip and she declined it. An example of exceeding expectations.

Fine for hotel near highway

Clean and comfortable stay. Rooms and common area very modern and clean. There were a number of kids sports teams staying at the hotel while we were there so the pool area was very lively! Breakfast options limited but still nice to have included. A number of fast food restaurants within walking distance. Downtown and WVU a few miles away. Would stay again!

Location not great. Far from 79highway. Property needs a good cleanup on the outside. Carpets need a good cleaning inside. Checkin was great! Staff fairly friendly.

Room very clean and most everything you need is within walking distance.

Very nice room, a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Had a lot of updated features like a dimmer switch above the bed. Bed was super comfortable, towels were soft. Area around the hotel felt safe and was easy to find. Would definitely stay here again and recommend. Only downside was that it did not appear that the bathroom floor had been cleaned at all, lots of hairs and debris.

It was a great location for us. Near family, a rail trail, Dunkin Donuts, and downtown.

Outstanding staff. Our only disappointment was that breakfast was advertised as starting at 6:30 am. It did not start until 7 and was slim pickings. We had a schedule and could not wait.

Check in was amazing! After that it kinda went down hill. We have stayed at this hotel several times for the pool and breakfast. But they recently made some upgrades that really downgraded in my opinion. Breakfast used to be amazing with waffles, eggs, bacon to now some pre bagged not so good food that no kids wanted to eat. The new breakfast area has way to high tables for people with kids so had to go back to our room to eat bc the low tables were taken. Hot tub was not working and when I checked out I was charged twice for my room. We usually stay 2 times a year for activities in Morgantown but will be finding a new hotel with better breakfast and working hot tub

Overall, I had a nice stay. The breakfast area could use some improvements.
