Our stay was phenomenal! Staff was so great and made our friends birthday trip extra special. You can tell they all love the work that do there and it shows. Breakfast had a HUGE selection and their rooftop bar was perfect. Thank you all again!

This property was small and a welcome treat instead of a regular hotel that is normally large and crowded. Luggage storage was a breeze. They have a completely separate room that you enter with a key for the luggage. The complimentary breakfast was also very good. It is a typical Italian setting with no parking and loading/unloading is done on the street.

The hotel’s location can’t be beat. The breakfast has great variety and something for all tastes. The rooms, although small, were very clean and had all the amenities. The staff were amazing. The one downside was that I felt everything felt damp to me. When I got into bed at night the bedding felt slightly damp and clothes that were left out felt damp.

Wonderful, clean hotel in the heart of the historic center of Rome, everything within walking distance! Excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Standard Rooms are small but comfortable and quiet. Even though there was a lot of activity in the street outside our room we never heard any noise unless we opened the window. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again next time we visit Rome!

Pros: very friendly staff, centrally located, great breakfast Cons: the room was very small & asymmetric (slanted walls which made it very cramped), the a/c would come on & off every few minutes followed by a loud noise after turning off, made it very hard to sleep. There was black mold in our shower.

Clean snd freshly remodeled. Stayed in the annex which was very private snd quiet. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Room was small and a bit hard to manage with multiple suitcases. Staff was super friendly and accommodating and helpful with directions snd ordering cabs. Great stay!!

Wonderful hotel! Very clean, breakfast was delicious, staff was extremely friendly. Great location to walk to sites, restaurants and bars. Down the road there is a local bar called “It’s A Bar”, owner is great and lots of locals hang out there. I definitely recommend this hotel.

From the moment we arrived and asked for an early check-in after a long flight the from seat was so accommodating. From getting us taxis to filling my my water bottle To opening a bottle of wine…they were exceptional. Comfy bed, great rooftop bar, small room but well appointed.

Great location, hotel, breakfast, and service. Room was tiny but very clean and well decorated. Next time, I would stay here but never again in the "annex" or in a room over the street. It was unbearably noisy above a late night bar with drunken revelers talking, singing, and shouting until 2am.

My room was located in the Annex building, across the street from the main Hotel. The room was very small, so small, the only place to open my suitcase was on the bed. The room was clean and modern. The biggest issue was at night the street behind the annex was very loud, people partying until all hours of the night. I assume that if I had stayed in the main building, my overall experience would have been much more satisfactory…

Our stay at this hotel was truly incredible! It is a beautiful hotel in a great location, we were able to walk to EVERYTHING! I would also like to give a shout out to Leonardo at the front desk, he was incredibly kind and made us feel SO welcomed, he had us smiling from the second we walked in and truly made our stay memorable! We will definitely be returning to this hotel again

We had stayed here before and loved it so we came back. This time we had a much smaller room and even though the days were warm, the hotel turned the AC off and switched to heat. Sleeping was hard as the rooms were hot and uncomfortable. The rooftop bar was great and the staff wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Smeraldo. It is in a quiet part of Rome but still central to all sights. Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps are all within 10 minute walk from the hotel. Air conditioning worked well but did not go below 22 degrees Celsius. Leonardo at the front desk was gracious and helpful during our stay. He provided us with a fan for our room. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Will definitely stay here again!

We were disappointed with the view in our superior with balcony and the room was small, however it was clean and functional. Really from this area there is no good view. Nice bathroom and shower. After staying in this room the length of our reservation, we switched rooms to a standard room for a tour we are joining and didn’t think the rooms could get much smaller but they can! No place to put two carryon size suitcases. Shower not as nice. Window opens to a wall. Good location for accessing sites. I’d get the superior if I was booking again

I really enjoyed my hotel stay. I was in a single bed room and though it was small it was the perfect size for one person. It was clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. The only thing that may be a problem for others is you could hear everything going on outside and through the walls. I am heavy sleeper so it wasn’t an issue for me. The location is great. I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go easily and there are great food options near the hotel. I would stay here again when I visit Rome again.

Incredible stay at this property. From the moment I arrived I was enthusiastically greeted by the front desk, given all of the information I needed and was given a room. The room was clean, and spacious with very comfortable bedding. The breakfast in the morning was top notch with an excellent selection of tasty food. The front desk staff greeted me by name when I came down and asked how my stay was. While walking out of my room even the house keeping staff asked how I slept, if I ate breakfast and how my overall stay was. Truly felt like a family and not a business.

Fantastic home base for exploring the center of Rome. The staff was amazing, super helpful, and accommodating, and I would not hesitate to stay here again. I have lived in and been to Rome many times, and this was the perfect mix of location, size, safety, and amenities. The front desk staff (esp Massimo) was beyond friendly and helpful! My second time staying here - the staff are incredible, nothing is too much trouble, I was even personally escorted to a nearby restaurant on my first night as it was late. I had a “solo traveler” room with a balcony and it was perfect, the bed was comfy (a queen size) the shower was fantastic and the balcony was the perfect spot to chill. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and caters to all tastes, the pastries from Riscioli are so good and the coffee cannot be beaten. The location is superb with Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona and The Pantheon within 15 minutes (maximum) walking distance, beautiful side streets, restaurants on the doorstep and everywhere felt safe and welcoming - can’t wait to return here and to the beautiful city of Roma

The night before we were departing for Florence the front desk employee told us there was a 24 hour train strike and we might not be able to get to Florence by train. He was unhelpful about alternative transportation and literally laughed at me when he saw the look of panic on my face. We spent a couple of hours before bedtime trying to get more information and arrange bus service. I will never forget the way this employee treated us. The hotel was comfortable and breakfast was fantastic. But one employee ruined our experience. We went to the train station early the next morning and there were no disruptions in train service. Made it to Florence easily!

This was our first trip to Rome. We ended a 10 day cruise in Rome and decided to stay in Rome for two days. The staff at the Hotel Smeraldo was so professional and helpful. They assisted us with booking transportation to the FCO Airport on our departure day and gave us recommendations on restaurants to try that were in walking distance to the hotel. Because we had to leave at 6:00am on the morning of our departure and couldn’t partake in their breakfast buffet before we left, the staff gave us coffee and croissants to go. The hotel was clean and the rooms and bathrooms were a tad small and tight. There was not much tabletop space to put things on but there was a nice closet with shelves. There is a small refrigerator and a safe in the room. Like with all older hotels in Europe, the elevators are tiny.

All of the staff at the Hotel Smeraldo were friendly. The Filipino housekeeping lady, that was always keeping the lobby area clean, was so sweet & kind. She always greeted us & made us feel welcomed. Their morning breakfast was delicious--we especially enjoyed the cappuccino & maritozzo! The hotel's location was excellent, we walked to nearly every venue, Colosseum, Vatican, Pantheon, Jewish Ghetto, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Borghese Gallery & Villa, Doria Pamphilj gallery, Travestere & Testaccio from there. We'd definitely stay there again if we visit Rome again. We loved the Hotel Smeraldo & Rome.

It’s a bit inconvenient to get to the hotel from Termini Station using public transport, especially with luggage. the breakfast is excellent, and the reception managers are incredibly professional, friendly, and thoughtful, which left a great impression. The hotel is in a lively street with lots of local vibes. The room and bathroom are a bit small, but the bedding is very comfortable.

Perfect location in the heart of Rome; within walking distance to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, Colosseum, Forum, Trastevere, etc. Beautiful churches and basilicas, restaurants, open air market and opportunities for gelato and pastries are within minutes of Hotel Smeraldo.The concierge and front desk staff were friendly and helpful; giving directions, making restaurant recommendations and arranging transportation. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choices and great coffee. I only have wonderful things to say about Hotel Smeraldo, and when I return to Rome it will be my first choice.

Breakfast was excellent, eggs kind of sucked, runny not cooked enough, but the rest was great, no Barista but the machine were okay. Rooms were small but very clean, pool great, restaurant was very good. Service was excellent close to Coliseum, churches and superb Restaurants. People very friendly. You'll love it

Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Great breakfast buffet included all that was needed. Hot and cold items, breads from a bakery across the street were delicious. Rooftop oudoor lounge served hot foods and all the typical drinks. Property location is oustanding and accessible by foot to all of the major historical sites.

This hotel is in a great location-walkable to many sights in Rome. Hotel staff was extremely helpful in making suggestions about where to eat. Shout out to Emanuel at the front desk. The free breakfast was great. An added bonus were the made to order specialty coffees which were included. Overall the rooms were clean but small but also had very good air conditioning. A great choice to stay in Rome.

Our stay at hotel smeraldo was awesome! The breakfast was amazing especially including pastries from the famous bakery across the alley. The rooftop bar is also a nice touch! Great stay in a great location!
