Wyndham Resort Torquay

Cleanliness wasn't great for windows etc. Pool had green slime around tiles. Property looked very tired

great location across from a nice beach clean, heated pool and spa has an onsite cafe with limited menu. We prepaid for breakfast, worthwhile. we rented a 3 bedroom apartment, 2 of the bedrooms did not have cooling and got warm at night. overall a nice property, and we had a very pleasant stay.

The only problem we had was parking. The hotel had a parking facility but we weren’t able to use it since we had a 12 passenger van that was too high to drive into the structure. This problem is unlikely to affect most quests.

The check in was the start of a very pleasant stay. The staff were really helpful and offered a comprehensive explanation of all that was available and when. The room was great value. The facilities, gym and both pools were easy to find. The heated indoor pool was great for me!

Spacious modern clean room. Nice view of beach across the road. Plenty of parking. Lots of amenities at hotel beautiful pool.

Room was a little dated , phone was dusty , neighbours next room were very loud & noise . Did not use anything as it was one night only , had trouble parking car , had to go back to reception to ask for help , others had the same issue, Carl park was full .

Definitely a resort setup with nice outdoor pool and spa. We only used the indoor heated swimming pool which was very nice. Even had shower/change room there too. They had a cafe onsite with pizzas and a bar. Didn't eat there but the food looked good. Liked that it was just out of main town so quiet. Beach was also just across the road. The 1 bedroom apartment was a good size for the 3 of us. Would stay there again.

Overall a very nice stay. Clean and functional facilities and family friendly. Well appointed rooms. Nice indoor and outdoor pool and spa, tennis court, pedal cart. The only thing that can be improved is there is no onsite restaurant - there is only a small pizza shop.

Excellent location and facility, great pools, very clean! Bar & café understaffed and staff seemed overwhelmed, inexperienced (or tired). Quite a bit of the gym equipment was faulty. Would still recommend & come back. Great for families!

We stay in a corner 2br apartment for a family of 4 Pro - It was very bright with large windows and a nice balcony. - Surprise it included an ensuite and the guest bathroom had a bath tub. - full kitchen and washer & dryer - pool towels provided Cons - The second bedroom did not have a split system. - not enough lights at night so it felt very dark The resort facilities Indoor pool was cold in winter. The heated outdoor spa was more comfortable. Wish they had a sauna/ steam facility Activity games night every night with prizes. Great family activity Friendly check in process and the staff was very helpful. Would recommend for families and will go back again.

The carpet was badly stained. The toilet seat was wonky. The walls need to be painted. The air conditioner was noisy. There was only one bedside table. The bathroom was not well designed. There wasn’t a fly wire on the sliding door, making it uncomfortable to have the door open for a breeze. The cafe was nice, the food was nice but the breakfast portions were too small. The staff were very nice. The pool was nice. The outdoor walkways need to be regrouted. The price was far too high for this room.

The room was pretty dirty, had coffee all over the floor and blacks hairs all throughout the bath. Lots of broken gates to pool/spa and some ammenities. Would stay again purely for convenience of the location not the resort itself.

We changed rooms. First room was not clean. Dirty floors not vacuumed. Sec Nd took was very clean.

The room was small and not cleaned properly. It had a smell a bit like fumes that I couldn’t figure out, we slept with the door open. The bathroom sink was cracked through, nearly in half. The location is beautiful and the pool area gorgeous. I wouldn’t stay again though due to the room and attitude of staff.

The staff are very friendly. The place is located in a beautiful area of Torquay, you can walk to the beach and many dinning options. The 3 bedroom had nice view but it wasn’t clean. We had to wash everything before use in the kitchen because it was not washed properly.

Love this property and had lots of great stays except for a previous privately owned one that was awful and a recent stay where half of the apartment was okay but the rest was not good. This one I recently stayed in had so many dirty saucepans and pans including the drawers. There was an oily smell in main area and a bit untidy with crumbs in cupboards. The apartment had clean sheets and neatly made bed etc but a few things dirty. There was dried sludge along shower where you step over it and it was slimy after showering. I paid $60 upgrade from my original twin single room to have a queen bed and cooking facilities that I didn’t feel comfortable using except for a saucepan I had to clean first. I wished I’d stayed in original room as it was spotless. The staff were nice but hesitant to tell owners re room in case it will upset them. I thought about changing rooms yet again but I was told I’d have to check out at 11 and check back in at 3 and was I was still distressed and embarrassed to address my towel issue! This was my most distressing part of the stay that really effected me was drying my face on white towel after showering and sighting 2 vile looking brown marks on towel that were thankfully stains and not fresh unwashed soiling. Not ideal at all and I will forever obsessively check towels now. I will add I haven’t been billed for the extra $60 for the second night’s difference. Dryer doesn’t work and I was bruised from bumping my shins on sharp bed corner.

Check in was very rushed and very focused in selling “Wyndham Club” membership which I did not like at all. No time was spent on giving information about the property and facilities. I fact we could not locate the indoor pool and gym until our 2nd day and had to ask staff where it was. Those things aside, the Wyndham was a great place to stay with excellent outdoor pool facilities, right across from the beach.

Clean room and friendly staff

There were 3 of us so my daughter slept on the sofa bed which was the worst sofa bed i have ever experienced. She got no sleep because it was so uncomfortable, and we didn't get any sleep because every time she moved it squeaked loudly

Firstly housekeeping was amazing; we spoke with staff and thanked them. The intrusive noise level from the next room door was terrible and the slamming doors!!!!!! Our room described as a ‘deluxe king room suite’ was so underwhelming. There was certainly a king size bed but moving around in the remaining space was laughable. This wasn’t our first stay but it was a most disappointing stay.

Only concern was it seemed a shared A/C meant compressor noise when neighbour had it on overnight. Every few minutes. Difficult to sleep Also tv came on with sound and no picture for about 30 sec both mornings about 7 am!!!! Then switched off without my action. Otherwise fantastic end to our road trip along GOR

good location. $400 for one night, the sofa bed is not fit for adults, springs dig into you. They promote 24/7 cafe but could provide menu in room or at the cafe. certainly not worth the price.

Excellent accommodation and service room was clean, bed comfortable, amazing ocean view!

The room was spacious and suited our needs. However, the Wi-Fi was quite weak and unreliable during our stay. Improving the internet connection would make the experience much better, especially for families.

The rooms have started to look very dated. For the price ($400 a night) for a very very basic room definitely does not feel worth it. The Beds were extremely uncomfortable. And the TV (in todays day and age) did not have chromecast capability for us to watch Netflix.

Average service. Very poor mattress (my back is still aching) - even worse pillows. There were four on the bed - two were light airy thigs that when you put your head on them you hit the mattress, the other two were lumpy C Grade quality. As you can tell I had a poor nights sleep, as did my wife. To top it off, our bedroom was above the entrance to the carpark, and every time a car went in or out, the grates over the drainage pits (x2) clanked and rattled to further disturb our 'peaceful habitation' for the night. Sadly, won't be back.

Check in was hostile. Instructions on parking were provided by an employee whose English was very difficult to understand and information inaccurate. There was no parking spaces available when we checked in mid afternoon. . The restaurant was beyond belief. You claim to be 4 star but the “ dining options” were the dream menu of a 8 year old boy. Heated up frozen sea food !!! Really. The insect screen in our suite was broken. The refrigerator freezer was totally iced up. It had not been defrosted in a long time. Very disappointed in the property and the service provided. As a hotel executive myself I would suggest you require serious staff training.

We had a very disappointing and frankly concerning stay at this hotel. First off, the room was advertised to sleep four people, but that was extremely misleading. While the main bed was comfortable, the fold-out sofa was terrible—hard as a rock, loud with every movement, and clearly not designed for actual sleeping. You could feel every bar and spring underneath. On top of that, there weren’t enough blankets provided. Definitely not suitable for a proper night’s rest. Far more alarming, though, was a serious incident involving one of our family members. While using the lift from level two, it suddenly dropped straight down to the basement and then locked her inside. She was stuck in there alone until someone on another floor called the lift, allowing her to exit. She injured her back in the fall, and understandably, we expected the hotel to take this seriously. Instead, the response from the management team was absolutely deplorable. There was no empathy, no apology, and no sense of urgency. They refused to provide an incident report, could not give us contact details for anyone higher up, and essentially brushed it off by saying they tested the lift and it "seemed fine." That was their entire response. To top it all off, we also found ants in the room—not what you expect from a hotel at this price point. All in all, between the unsafe conditions, uncomfortable accommodations, and shockingly poor handling of a serious saf

Women at reception was RUDE. I wrote on my booking it was a surprise for my partner. Nothing was mentioned at all which was a bit rubbish to not even acknowledge anything when I had wrote it on request. We were based right above the carpark with the worst view (no view) Went to get a pizza from the bar at Winkipops and was told no food until 5pm. I asked reception if there was any snacks they told me they were actually serving pizzas at the winkipops place and went to recheck. He said yes but to order at reception! Went to reception and they told me I had to go to winkipops to order. So I didn’t end up getting anything after being messed around. When you use the toilet the water continues to make sound for hours so that was not fun in the night. Hated listening to the cars entering and leaving each time. I feel bad this was supposed to be a surprise trip for my parters birthday and one of the worst places we have stayed! The fridge in our room froze and burst all of our coke cans so that was another annoying surprise the fridge doesn’t even work correctly. The shower pressure was terrible, could hardly get wash the shampoo out of my hair. Then went to turn the shower off and the whole shower head came down and hit my partners arm! The room its self is not at all like it is on any of the photos! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. On check out the rude receptionist didn’t even ask how our stay was. I wasn’t even surprised by this point. Awful.

Convenient location and great amenities at Wyndham. The room was clean (clean sheets, bathroom and surfaces clean) however did not appear well maintained (dirty vents including split system which spit dirt out onto the bed). Staff were lovely although was pressured into signing up for a Wyndham club presentation from the activities person, despite politely trying to reject multiple times.

Fridge door would not close, needs defrosting. Girl at checkin thought someone was there before us so made us wait while she served them, however we were there well before them. Forceful sales team would not take no for an answer, wanted to keep us in presentation when we were finished

Upon checking in the man who checked us in was lovely and made us feel welcome however when we were handed off to the second guy who was meant to tell us where to find our room and where to park etc he was trying to force us to partake in a 90 minute seminar. We said no the first time and he proceeded to ask us another 4 times after we had said no each and every time. It got very awkward and uncomfortable and we told him we just came to relax for the weekend as it was our anniversary and we just wanted to do our own thing. When we said no for the 5th time he got visibly angry with us and then told us we couldn’t afford the room we had booked so if we did the seminar it would help with the cost of that? If we couldn’t afford the cost of the room we wouldn’t have booked it. After that awkward interaction we asked him where we should park and he was so brief with us that we had to figure it out for ourselves. That interaction alone definitely threw us off for the rest of the stay. The room itself was nice however the fridge in the kitchen froze all of our food and drinks we had bought with us and the switch to change the temperature was broken so we had to throw all of it out which was quite annoying. Another downside was the fact the cafe is closed in the winter which was not advertised. The location however was great and convenient for us. When we checked out we were not asked how our stay was or even thanked. Overall the customer service was the downfall of our stay.

The staff at the Wyndham were lovely. Each person I spoke with were kind, caring and attentive.

Courteous staff on arrival

I came here after my diving trip in the north was cancelled due to a cyclone. Emily at the front desk had asked about my plans and when she learned about my interest in diving called some people and found 4 awesome local options for me. I did not ask her, she just did this. Then she recommended dining options to match my tastes.

Located a few mins drive from the centre of town and opposite the beach, the hotel is in a great location. Beds were comfy and the shower had good pressure. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Check in was very welcoming and efficient. Good undercover parking included and room was great size, clean and very quiet. Close to beach, walking paths and only 1.3 km from restaurants and coffee shops. Great relaxing stay.

The location was convenient but other than that the property did not offer much at all and was pretty average in terms of service (no room service), amenities (no mini bar, very limited breakfast options, no in-room dining service), etc.

Great if your staying with kids however in the off peak season there is limited options for food onsite and breakfast is very basic.

De kamer was oke alleen jammer dat er geen restaurant was.

It was disappointing to have no food service for either breakfast or dinner. Bar service was only a couple of fridges to select a drink from. I would suggest a continental breakfast selection area such as available at the Parkview Motor Inn at Wangaratta. Very simple setup and very satisfactory for the guests.

I love the layout of the place, easy access to everything, it was all great. Availability of barista coffe, pizzas and icecream/snacks 24/7 is awesome when travelling with family. Great pool and spa.
