Great area and easy to access however the rooms did not feel clean or smell clean, just changing the basics between every guest is not good enough, rooms need a thorough cleaning. For the price paid for 1 night, it felt like a rip off. The outdoor BBQ was also in a poor/ dirty condition as well as having broken BBQ cleaning equipment.

Great location near the beach, busy road nearby isn’t too noisy inside. The car park is very tight. I used the visitors parking as utes were in spots crowding out mine. 1 ply tissue & toilet paper weren’t in enough supply ( 1 sheet of tissue only in the box) and no spare roll given after first night although tissues replaced. Beds not turned down etc when the room was attended. Bath mat left where towels requested to be left if wanting changed wasn’t replaced with dry one. We enjoyed the pool & spa (bubbles not working) and spa bath in the room. Given the price would expected a fresher finish to the rooms and bathroom which was especially tired. However would stay here again if was not other accommodation available or non-peak price as my children enjoyed being in Torquay and the pool, table tennis & spa bath. They also have a selection of family friendly DVDs for free borrowing at reception which was a nice touch

Pool and pool spa great. If you don't mind outdated rooms this will be fine. At first we thought oh dear lucky we are only staying one night as room smelt. Front counter have is Glen 20 and with a good spray and opening the skidding doors the smell didn't come back. Good little set of shops to choose did from just across to the road. Large area for kids to hit cricket ball or kick to kick. Skidding doors of room opened it so I could see kids in the pool. They have a shared games type of room with table tennis set. Everything in the run worked although a revamp would make this so much better. All in all was an enjoyable stay.

Tropucana motel is actually a great place to be before starting a journey to the great ocean. Beds are comfortable and room heated and insulated. The pool is great amd relaxing. I've enjoyed the heated spa in the evening and it was just perfect despite the cold weather. Staff was nice and helpful. Highly recommend

Lingering bad smell through the room that didn’t go away. Shower needs a bottle of bleach, mould all through it and the temperature options were hot or cold. Mould all around the slider door and window in the room. Very run down. Not what I expected for nearly $200 for the night. The lady at check in was lovely though.

Wifi was fast and solid, my top priority. Table and chair were fine. Shower area could use a little more deep cleaning but it's not a biggie. Front desk person was very helpful. Convenient location, near the main road but couldn't hear the noise. Would stay again.

For the amount of money that we paid, I would have thought the up keep of the rooms could be better. It was a small motel with only 18 rooms. The furniture needs to be updated. The mattress also need to be update as the one I sleepy on, had no spring to it. The tv in our room didn't work either. I saw the cleaners the next morning and they didn't even come near my room to supply toilet paper etc... The owner/receptionist was rude and we couldn't hardly understand her. We had other family staying there as well and there rooms weren't any better. So disappointed!

we had a lovely stay just what we needed after traveling from england. the lady on reception was kind very warm and welcoming, we used all the tea and coffee and was no problem getting them restocked we even picked some fresh lemons from the trees outside reception. looking forward to our next stay

We found the hotel to be very nice. Whilst we didn't use the pool the hotel is quite well located for cafes and bars about 500m away. If you want to explore the main waterfront of Torquay we felt that we needed to use a car but it would be walkable though the hotel is uphill from the coast. We enjoyed our stay.

I think they try really hard, decent towels, lots of milk, coffee etc, and it was clean. Just tired. Taps need new washers, it feels dated, carpets worn out in places. Did not use pool. Less than 5 minute drive to front. Be warned no food outlets operating after 8.30 (nearby on foot ) aside from Macdonald’s… have to say, first happy meal in over 20 years! Good budget option.

Stayed for a week with my Girlfriend, and was a beautiful stay in the standard room. Easy to drive or a 5-10 minute walk to all the central shops and only 15-20 minutes to walk straight down the beach. Loved the stay and all the opportunities they provide to you such as movies, spa, pool, gaming room, decision for a cheap breakfast with heaps of opportunities in that area, and get your own self park. The staff are all nice and caring and the price for each night was fairly cheap for such a decent place to stay in such a beautiful area. Enjoyed the stay and recommend to others.

This was a cheap one night stay in an older hotel. The room was clean but very primitive. Did not notice the fact there were only adjoined bathrooms (not private ones) in the ad. Would not be coming back. On the bright side, the snack/breakfast bar was great.
