The room was really nice and the bed was so comfortable but I was really disappointed that there were no dinner options and the pool was closed for maintenance for 2 days in the middle of summer. Love the Golf course but was just a little annoyed that the full facilities were not available and that we weren't advised.

Firstly the staff are great. Check in was a breeze and they helpful with any questions and directions. Staff in the bar/restaurant or cafe very friendly and engaging. Ammenities are fantastic, good heated pool, great gym with new equipment, wifi, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great carpet! So many great spots to sit and have a snack, coffee or drink when the suns out. Would stay again. My only suggestion would be a sauna for the recreation space. Very pleasant stay. Thank you

Great relaxing experience. We celebrated our wedding anniversary. Would have been nice to have something on a Saturday night at the resto bar, otherwise the vibe is very relaxing. Pool was nicely heated. Staff super helpful and friendly. Breakfast of smashed avo eggs and smoked salmon with egg on sourdough bread was scrumptious. We love that it is now pet friendly. Keep it up! Will be coming back.

Didn’t like the fact I was notified the pool wasn’t working 2 hours prior to check in then too have it still not fixed during our stay. I would have booked somewhere else because I booked it solely because there was a heated pool.

We enjoyed our long weekend at The Sands. We stayed in a family room on the ground floor, golf course side. Having two inter connecting rooms was spacious and gave the kids their own bathroom. We enjoyed the facilities, including the pool and tennis courts. We also walked to the beach for a swim. The restaurant’s food was delicious and it was so handy walking to the restaurant for drinks and dinner. The staff were lovely. The rooms were calm and inviting, tastefully decorated in a coastal theme. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept well. We will definitely be back!

The Sands Torquay provided a pleasant overnight stay. We booked 2 rooms which were provided on the ground level. There was no view but the room had an outside door leading to the golf course which we could not see as there was a hill. The hotel was out of central Torquay slightly which is normal for a resort, however this isn't really a resort...more like 3 star hotel. The room wasn't very clean, not up to my expectations-particularly the bathroom. I definitely don't feel like it was sanitised especially since toiletries were large sized bottles shared amongst guests.

Reception went over and about after cleaning staff didn’t restock room on each day. We had to ask for tea, milk, water, even toilet rolls from either the cleaner or reception. He simply didn’t restock.

We had fantastic views of the sunrise overlooking the golf course in room 113. We weren't overly pleased by a small blood stain on the bedsheets the first night we stayed. I wouldn't be returning for the price I paid.

Location of the room was disappointing as I had paid extra for the Golf view room and was placed on a ground floor room facing the golf course but the views were only of bushes in front of the room. Other from that everything else was excellent.

My room was very clean and spacious. I was travelling alone and felt very safe with the security. The staff on check in and out were extremely friendly and helpful. I found the staff at breakfast less so. The only slight issue was I was on the ground floor (which was fine) but there must have been children in the room above and could hear them in the morning running around (thumping on the ceiling for me) and this did wake me. Otherwise, I could not fault my stay, will definitely stay again.

Extremely clean, comfy, and quiet stay. The staff were accommodating and amazing with helping to guide around the area. Situated on the course with two restaurants to chose from, a bar, and some kangaroos that roam the greens in the evening. Local to multiple beaches, restaurants, and amenities. Can walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes. Approx a 10 minute drive to anything you need in Torquay. Definitely recommended.

Lovely hotel. Reception needs to be better manned at busy times. Young gentleman on reception was dealing with a group of seven checking in individually, which took a lot of his time and patience which he is to be commended for. He kept control while being asked numerous questions all at once by the group. Help eventually arrived and our check-in was quick.

Beautifully designed accommodation, gorgeous rooms, clean, spacious. The staff went above and beyond. Special thanks to Tom at reception who wrote a personalised itinerary for us overnight and left it for us at the desk in the morning. Such wonderful, personalised friendly service. All the staff were fantastic too.

Very Disappointing. Receptionist checking me in not very interested in the guest. Poor explanation of where to find my room so I got very lost. No information given on the facilities. I asked if they had room service, “no, but you can get takeaway and have it in your room was the reply’ !!!! No information given on breakfast options. I did not even know there was a restaurant onsite until I read the dossier in my room at about 10.00 pm that night. A map of the place showing where everything is would have been very helpful. I stayed overnight to attend a function at the hotel, a presentation preceded by dinner. That dinner was also disappointing, tables set with no bread and butter plates, so people used their paper napkins to butter their bread rolls on. When I asked staff if we our table could have bread n butter plates brought out, he said ‘side plates’??? I said yes, I’d prefer to butter my bread roll on a plate, rather than the tablecloth. No condiments on the tables. Then, Alternate drop meals that were luke warm. Heating in my room not working properly. Truly, I could not wait to get out of there this morning. Never again.

We had a good stay at the Sands. The room was clean and simple, and the staff was very friendly during check-in and check-out. There is easy parking, and it is right on the golf course if you want to shoot a few rounds. It is a few minutes' drive into the main streets of Torquay and the beach.

Rooms were a good size and adequate amenities. Breakfast is not buffet and quite confusing/time consuming lining up and ordering etc., Inconvenient and staff are run off their feet making coffees, taking orders, serving and attending to guest questions etc., Hotel is driving distance to main shops. We stayed there for Otway Classic bike ride and 3 kms from start line convenient, although breakfast only opens at 7.30 so it was rushed. On site restaurant was nice enough, although a very long wait for meals on the Friday night. Nice place overall.

We really enjoyed the view of the golf course from our balcony and we were very appreciative that our booking request for a top floor room was met. We went down for breakfast on the day after we checked and were told that the Continental Breakfast was not available for the week , which was disappointing.

Great Ocean Roadへのドライブ帰りに一泊しました。夕方の到着でしたが、スタッフの気配りに満ちた親切な対応が素晴らしかった。部屋も広く清潔。バスルームもきれいで満足でした。夕食もレストランで楽しみました。ちょうどピザナイト?で、とても美味しいピザを楽しめました。妻は、ゴルフコースを眺めながらの朝食を楽しめ、エッグベネディクトがとっても美味しかったとの事です。ゴルフショップのスタッフもフレンドリーで親切でした。初めてのコースでほぼトップスタートでしたが、フェアウェイにカンガルーが沢山いるコースをエンジョイできました。隣接するビーチもTorquayの街も穏やかですてきなところです。

Porterhouse steaks and sides at Shirley’s were beyond amazing! I’d never heard of truffle butter but I’m so glad we tried it. One week on and I’m still thinking about it! Would post a photo if I could! Soooo yum!

We were unable to charge our Tesla!! Understaffed on the desk/ phone, yet at what was a very ordinary breakfast. A decent coffee wasn't included with breakfast also only instant or plunger coffee in the rooms. The Table Top at breakfast, wobbled like a ship in a storm! The Restaurant (food) not available on a Tuesday evening. Both receptionists on book in and check out were excellent with help and advice. Dont thonk that we would bother staying here again unless everything else in the area is booked out. Have given it 3 shots now. Its all too hard.
