Motel Maroondah

Absolutely atrocious and not sure why Wotif would have anything to do with this property. Could not believe how dirty and run down and looks to be a drug haven with arguments and fights day and night. Not happy at all.

This a terrible experience that I wish to forget quickly. Approach to the room was very bad and not lit. Lights not working. Very dark Shower curtain torn Animals running about in the ceiling - frightening Bathroom was untidy . No toilet roll holder. One fork and one knife provided. TV didn't work Looks very dodgy When checking out I was told my payment had not gone through. Will not go there again. Overall,far below minimum standards. Whole place is run down and should be removed from your listings.

Great spot. Watched a phsycho lady chased out by police, then there was a man working on his car with a grinder in the car park at 1 am.

Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews on this property before booking as we wanted somewhere close to a function we were attending in the Surrey Hills area and this fit the bill for price and location. At reception a lady attended eventually who seemed unsure of the process, explaining her partner was otherwise occupied. The cost of $125 quickly changed to $175 when she advised I needed to pay a key deposit which I wasn't aware of before booking. She explained it would be refunded to my credit card when key was returned. The room itself was clean, we checked the bed and it was comfortable and clean. My partner wanted to shower and change before we left for the function and the light in the bathroom didn't work (no outside window) so had to leave the door open and we couldn't stop the shower dripping after, noisy enough to need to shut door so we could sleep later. We slept on and off with lots of noise and voices which seemed to be cleaners or workers loading trailers or utes with metal. When we finally woke at 6am we dressed hurriedly and left, dropping the key in the security box at the office. We didn't use the bathroom as there was no light and I had a general feeling of unsafe while there. Since then 27 October, the refund has not been paid. I have called 3 times since to be told by a male person that he needed the physical credit card so I emailed him my card details, then he hasn't had time to look at his emails. DO NOT STAY HERE

Never stay here, they run a brothel here, very noisy crazy people yelling and fighting all night. No sleep was had, booked 4 nights left after 2 as too scared to stay and had no sleep anyway. Awful rip off

Terribly disappointed in overall - Stairway to back upstairs' Rooms a high Safety Trip Risk due to trims, measurements between steps and forward lean of steps. High risk of fall. - Reverse cycle heater in room not working - Unclean floor with bits and pieces found including old hardened chewing gum. Not vacuumed properly, - Fridge froze all our stored food and drink overnight - No sitting area with table and chairs, unusually a third bed added restricted any movement in the small room - TV remote on/off button not working - Credit Card registered with $50 at Check-in, Credited ok at Check-out, but amount at other stays is usually $1, Overall, very disappointing, particularly the danger at the rear external stairs, where there is a high risk of fall and injury. IT is rare that we review with any complaints but this was not a pleasant experience.

Definitely gave off "hooker" vibes. Room smelt of tobacco, so much so i could barely breathe. Business requires a 'key deposit' which isn't mentored anywhere until your at the counter. Think i would have had a better sleep in the car in a shopping centre car park. Staff was friendly, but was up working on vehicles till the early hours of the night in the car park.

Further cigarette burn marks on the bedding. Tiles were broken and walls covered in mold throughout the bathroom. The airconditioning did not work in the room. Other tenants were under the influence of drugs or alchol and noisy in the complex carpark till 3am.

Room was awful. I am not fussy as it was a last minute sleep only stay, but the walls, mirrors and other surfaces were covered in marks and gunk showing no deep cleaning is done. The smell from extended smoking in the room was overpowering. The front door appeared to be an internal door suggesting poor security and people were in the car park (permanents?) talking quite loudly for hours after midnight despite another guest asking them to keep it down. I don’t mind cheap rooms for a cheap fee, but this one was quite surprisingly bad.

Beds clean and tidy but facilities very dilapidated. Paint work, tiling, joinery. No chairs in room. Noisy neighbours.

I have a breathing problem. With the overwhelming tobacco smell, I couldn’t sleep at all, found it even more difficult to breathe & felt sick the whole time.

Very dirty and the smell of bleach unbearable. Ended up leaving straight away. The airconditioner was not functioning the blinds didn’t give privacy. The roof was mouldy and a hole in the door. The beds looked dirty.

Would give a zero if I could. Seemingly a good spot for sex work, not much else. Hair in bed, used bandaid on floor, room has a bad smell, so many things broken and dingy (but with cat stickers on it??), people yelling in the carpark, no latch on the door, many people coming and going at odd hours. Booked for 2 nights and left after one.

Door lock chain missing and door lock was only a knob and button - did not sleep as felt unsafe the entire night.. Noisy and constant chatter right through till morning. Bathroom was a health & safety risk - water on floor, drawers screwed shut, no exhaust fan.

The showwr base is unsuitable for elderly people as only has shower curtain, base is very slippery, floor gets wet. Very musky smell in room, fridge noisy and so were next door. Talking outside on phone 2am

It's a pretty good price for what it is. My room needed hanging space, preferably a wardrobe. Small plates and mugs and spoons, but could've done with a cutting board, and a couple of dinner plates. Perhaps a table a chairs would make this room more comfortable. Airconditioning needs fixing as leaked onto bed. Extra toilet roll would be helpful. They charge a key deposit of $50.00, refundable upon return of key. This is not explained on website. Other than above, quite a comfortable bed and stay overall.

Staff friendly. Room poor, probably not up to code. Room light sitting on two nails!?! Bathroom light switch broken. No a/c remote. No chair. Not recommended.

Area is shady and can be loud at night due to outside traffic. Random people walking around at all hours of the night. Little to no water pressure on tap. Bed was clean. Tv and most powerpoints don't work. Ok place to stay for a night if really needed. Shouldn't be charging as much as they do for what you can get.

Nothing. Smoke alarm was disabled. Toilet cistern leaked. Walls grubby. Mattress saggy. Fridge noisy. Bathroom door rotted.

Sleep on the street instead. No toilet paper, the aircon was taped over and out of service. The lights produce the heat of the sun and the beds haven’t been replaced this century.

This motel is a Terrible for a year i live on Saturday 11 January when i check in at 2pm he say the room is not ready i have to wait for one hour after when i got the key i check the room is don't have air-conditioning only got fan now Australia is summer last Saturday is very hot 34 how can the room don't have Air-conditioning i ask change other room he tell me other rooms the same only got fans the air-conditioning is too old i ask he in the hotel.com ads show up got air-conditioning why he say become it's old so now they fixed change also he said every rooms the TV don't have remote control because the Customer broken the remote control I think he lying i don't believe he said i think they just keep the remote controls how can got this Motel this is my first time stay this motel also this is the last time so Terrible

I really enjoyed my stay here. Highly underrated!! Stayed for a few nights and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to meet my special requests and were quite lovely to talk to. Room was clean and modern enough given the price. Will definitely be staying again!! :)

This motel should not even be in any booking website. Smelly room, wer floor, dirty bed sheet… you name it. The staff at reception did not return my holding deposit ( without eeason) and I am still disputing credit card transaction and complaining to fair trading. This motel has not transferred by deposit back yet after several phone calls, text msg and emails. Don’t know how these terrible places get hotel license. Would not recommend anyone to stay there.

After 2 phone confirmation, the hotel cancelled my reservation only a few hours before my arrival. They said they overbooked the rooms by mistake

This place is cheap and if you’re ok to stay with Prison release patrons , it’s ok . Not very encouraging for youth or young people who want to change and not use drugs etc. served the purpose at the time because of price .

The place is disgusting, very poor condition. With people wandering around late at night and a lady that looked haggered and methed out it felt like I was at the motel in Breaking Bad where Jesse would meet Wendy. Was crazy noisy around and just generally felt unsafe. I didn’t believe my car wouldn’t get broken into so I just didn’t stay. The condition of the bed and fittings was terrible. How these people have the audacity to charge more than $30 per night astounds me

I want a refund. Booked 2 nights and left in a couple of hours. prisoners are released here which was unknown to me. There is a contract to do this. I felt my car and my room and self were vulnerable. I nothing of these persons history including mental condition. They were accosting all who were there or arrived. This explains why no other cars in the carpark. Floors filthy.. I wiped with a damp tissue and it was black. Bathroom and toilet cieling covered in mould. Bedhead putrid, damged door with a most amaturish "repair" the list is endless. Should not be on this or any platform. Returned after a brief trip and was eyeballed from entering the property until I got into my room. These people were smoking all the time including outside my window and door and smoke coming in under the door. A Motel Disgrace.

Safe and quiet

The location was great. 4 saucers, three cups and two spoons? No fan in the bathroom, had to open windows..no security and no fly screens. No chair/chairs. Floors were sticky. Lost our soap behind the unfinished wall(no top cap).
