Comfort Inn Near UNT

Front desk staff was friendly. Exercise room had too strong of a smell, couldn’t exercise. Area not very nice.

The property was clean and quiet. I loved the indoor pool and the breakfast offered was fantastic! Thank you to Harry and his team!

With all the other hotel options around, this one will not be a repeat visit. First upon arrival, I was met with an overwhelming gas odor. I asked the front desk man if there was a problem. He acted like it was all normal. I believe it was from the dryers in the laundry room. When I got to my room, the temperature was 85 degrees inside and 100 degrees outside. It took hours to cool the room down. I went to the indoor pool and there was a man just hanging out by the fitness room watching videos on his phone. The fitness room had broken equipment and the same gas smell. The pool was lovely but one of the screens was not installed properly so there were dead bugs in the hot tub. Breakfast was okay - normal things. The proximity to the colleges and Braum’s was the best about the hotel.

The stairwells smelled like industrial waste. The room smelled strongly of floor cleaner. Pool was out of order. Good waffles at breakfast!

Key card didnt work daily, elevator was super slow. But the front desk staff was really nice.

There was often no one at the front desk. When we checked in, we had to wait about 8 minutes before someone came to the front desk. The person that showed up to the front was rude, he greeted us with "What do you want?". There is no security whatsoever at this location. They let anyone walk in and proceed to the elevator and rooms without stopping them or confirming if they are staying there. On the morning we checked out, there were broken beer bottles scattered throughout the parking lot (there had been people drinking in the parking lot each night we were there). When I told the front desk person about the broken glass in the parking lot, she did not respond. When we left the hotel about two hours later the broken glass had not been cleaned up. Do yourself a favor and skip this listing/hotel.

It was at least clean. The jacuzzi and pool were not working. Key card kept stopped working twice. When I was about to check out, had to wait because no one is at the front desk. Seems like it acts like an extended living place. I will never go to a Comfort Inn every again.

The hotel itself was fine. Nice and clean, basic. We parked in clear view of the hotel lobby door. When we got in to our car this morning the gascap alert was on and someone had siphoned approximately 4 gallons of gas. Will NOT stay again.

Our stay went good, front desk receptionists were very nice. Only complaint I had was their shower curtain is too short & when you shower all the water comes out & makes the bathroom floor flooded. One night our room key didn't open the pool but other than that the pool is really nice & clean, our kids enjoyed it. I recommend this hotel if you’re not wanting to spend tons of money but still stay at a decent place with free breakfast & indoor pool :)

OK staff, you can't leave the pool windows open during the grasshopper infestation. They jump in, land in the pool and hot tub, and get squished on the decking. The hallways and stair wells are filled with them as well. You can't just ignore them. There is easy access to I35 to go wherever you are heading. There is a DQ, Brisket Burger, Denny's, and Waffle House right next to the hotel. The breakfast was standard but in Texas, you should offer biscuits and gravy, yall.

We refused to sleep on the bed. There was hairs underneath the sheets. The young man gave us a different room on the third floor. The second room, sheets smelled clean but, the pillows cases looked liked they hadn't been changed. They had a sweaty smell. This is my first time ever to have to complain about a room. I have severe allergies. I felt like my throat was closing. I couldn't understand why. The room was so dusty that I had to use their white towels to dust the room. I was still have problems breathing. I had to use my two inhalers, I couldn't understand why. I had forgotten my crocks. So, I walk in my socks. I had to change my socks. I finally realized why I was having problems breathing. They don't VACUUM,DUST or CLEAN FLOORS in ROOMS. ATLEAST OUR ROOMS.My socks were full of pet hair and human hairs on the floor. I HAD TO THROW AWAY MY SOCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am severely allergic to animals. I have never had this experience in my life at a Motel. WE HAD A BAD NIGHT STAY THERE. NO MOTELS ALLOW PETS IN THEIR MOTELS. THE LEAST THEY NEED TO DO IS TO MAKE SURE THEIR HOUSEKEEPERS DO A DEEP CLEANING OF ROOMS. I AM SPEAKING FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME WITH SEVERE ALLERGIES TO PETS. 😬😷 ALSO, I AM SPEAKING FOR MY BROTHER AND HIS WIFE. THEY DON'T EVER CLEAN MICROWAVES ON FRIGDE. THEY FOUND 2 SALSA CUPS IN THEIR FRIDGE. THEIR ROOM SMELLED LIKE MILDEW. WHICH I AM ALLERGIC TOO. ANYONE CAN HAVE ALLERGIC REACTION TO MILDEW. THE WHOLE BUILDING SMELLED LIKE MILDEW. 😷.

Hotel was pretty dirty. Had a strong smell of weed. The door to our room had been kicked in at some point. The lights in the entryway of our room wouldn’t turn on. The bed frame was broken at the bottom and would dip when you sat down.

The sheets were stained, all of them, the floors were sticky, the staff was rude until we were trying to check out. There was….unknown stains on the bed board as well as the body prints of hands and breasts, I have a photo of all of these. Now they are refusing us a refund despite us never even sleeping at the hotel.

Great location. Food and shopping nearby. Breakfast was average. Cleanliness was disappointing. Trash around the building. My bathroom had not been cleaned and I cleaned it myself. Someone need to inspect the maids work every room and every day. I thought maybe new owner but the clerk said the same owner for 17 years.

Staff was friendly but the housekeeping was terrible. Facility was dirty and surrounded by questionable characters walking around outside. The room was gross, blood stain and hair in the sheets and the barroom had mold. Will never stay here again.

The hotel was very dirty. The hallways looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. The ceiling tiles were missing and looked like it was going to fall at any moment!! The room was dirty and even seen a cockroach on the bed the mowing we checked out. Won’t be staying there again!!!

Floor in room seemed to not have been mopped in months. Window in room had huge cracks.

Very dirty, mold in the sink and tub, large repair patch in the wall that wasn’t painted, filthy headboard, and worst was the absolute smell of the entire building.

The hotel room was dirty but what really stood out to me was the mildew smell and the molding ceiling tiles that covered the hallways on the first floor like there was clearly a leak or flood at some point. It was kinda run down and compared to a year and a half ago and I don't recommend the stay. Oh and the bed had what appeared to be blood stains. I was totally disgusted.

I’m a frequent traveler and I have never stayed at a hotel that has given me an ick as bad as this one. Stains on the bed sheets and pillows, moldy bathroom ceilings, outdated safety items, a dirty bathtub that made me cough uncontrollably, oh and the worst part BUGS!! I have big bug bites followed by red streaks all over my body. The streaks keep spreading so I’m going to seek medical attention. I was supposed to stay here for three nights, but after the first I was done and immediately booked a hotel somewhere else. The hotel is denying my refund, and Expedia isn’t helping my issue. Currently looking to seek legal action. Would NOT recommend this hotel…

The building had an odd odor to it. The sheets on the bed had stains on it. Two of the lights didn’t work in the room.

Easy check in. Large greasy handprint spots on headboard that housekeeping had missed. Air conditioner cycled and rattled so loud if woke me up several times. Full blown hot breakfast” was what I was told when I asked about breakfast. What it included was overcooked eggs, sausage links which ran out while I was there (for over an hour). I asked front desk about it twice, and they said someone was working on it. Others were waiting on food too and had to leave without eating. Overall ok but would nof choose again.

You get what you paid for… I had to pay an additional $150 deposit for using hotels.com to book room on top of the room fee…had an issue with little black ants (on 4th floor) in the room, room was dusty/musty smell to it. Found a pill bottle under nightstand that had been there for quite a bit (nice layer of dust on it), hole in the closet for the shower. Water pressure was horrible and couldn’t get the water temperature to adjust from scorching to cool.

No Smart TV or way to watch Amazon Thursday Nihjt Football / YouTube or Netflix. I ask front desk why, Answer was their interest service is not strong enough to support streaming and suggested Zi stream from iPad, laptop or cellphone connected to their wifi. My pro tit and thinking - don’t stay here if you want as art tv , or expecting to share your video content with room tv. Other than modern technology, it’s nice place to stay.

The room smelled like a moldy gym sock. The cleaning crew went through and cleaned but it did nothing for the smell. Staff were mostly inattentive and hard to find at times. The WiFi was horrendous, unusable for the most part. Ended up having to hotspot off of my phone on cellular just to get something working. I was on the first floor and my window was facing the alleyway behind the building and it was so loud it sounded like the windows were wide open even though they are not. The price was comparable to several other properties in the area that looked better. Next time I’ll choose one of the others over saving $20 a night.

The stay was fine. We were looking for a relatively affordable hotel. The WiFi was terrible. You couldn’t log in to your Netflix, Hulu, etc. because the WiFi was so bad. WiFi on phones and tablets was spotty at best.

We had a long stay with family. Hotel was clean and staff was kind and friendly during entire stay. Breakfast had cereal, eggs, sausage, pastries, waffle maker. I wished they would have had cream cheese for toast. They had butter. Coffee was good and hot. Elevator was fine. Swimming pool room temperature was warm. Pool water was warm also. Hot tub was super hot. I like them hot, but I only put my foot in. One of the pool room lights was flickering. My youngest kids enjoyed swimming. My oldest said everything was too warm to be comfortable in the pool area. I think if the pool water or the pool room temperature had been colder it would have been more enjoyable. Only other thing that was a little annoying was the WiFi would sometimes be slow or kick you off. It seems like they have several connections so not sure why. Sometimes my device would remember the user agreement and sometimes I'd have to click it again because it forgot. A Denny's and a Dairy Queen are in walking distance which is a nice benefit. Beds are taller than I'm used to. I'm about 5'3 and I kind of had to hop in bed. Overall we had a nice stay and enjoyed time with family.

Overall was nice and quiet only bad was ac wouldnt stay on longer than a couple minutes. And bed was broken as you slept in a hole leaning towards the left side.

Property seemed old, had a problem with AC, had fix myself. Didn't like locariin.

The rooms don't have the best insulation. You can hear just about everything from every direction from the room next door, the hallway, and outside. But the room was very nice, clean, and spacious. The shower... amazing! Best water pressure I've ever experienced at a hotel! Nice!! Service was great. All in all it was a good stay for 2 nights

Terrible for safety***** I’m writing to express my disappointment with a recent stay at the Comfort Inn at 4050 Mesa Dr, Denton, TX. Our room had significant AC condensation that spread water over a quarter of the floor, nearly damaging our electronics and posing a safety risk. Management said no maintenance staff was available and offered no room change or compensation. Staff showed no concern, and the situation was handled poorly. This is unacceptable for a Choice Hotels property. I request compensation and action to prevent this from happening to other guests.

No one was there to check in when we arrived. We waited almost 30 min. The place was beat up and dirty. Our door hardly shut. Our tv was in Spanish and they couldn’t help us fix it

Worst hotel stay of my life! I want to clarify that the only person that was helpful was Aj but unfortunately she was only there for 2 shifts (check in and check out). We planned a 5day stay and booked this hotel bc it was 8min from our event. The room stunk. We had to air it out. By day two we found ants all over the table and desk and outlets staff would not bring us towels or blankets. Breakfast was cold. We finally had to ask for a new room and asked for help moving a cot but was told you can do it yourself it has wheels. New room stunk and was hot. Restroom had broken towel rack and shower knobs. new room bad horrible beds that squeaked and were bumpy. Again staff was not helpful. Finally had to ask to checkout early.

Nobody was at the counter, when checking in. The man was outside smoking cigarettes. The desks were dirty and little bugs crawling Could not sleep at all, the a/c was very loud. Very bad stay. I would like my refund back

Good location clean and the staff is so friendly

Great service and was happy help with any questions we had. Housekeeping was also very tidy and quick! Shoutout to housekeeping and front desk employees for sure!

Well, this is not a good review. We moved to this hotel after a terrible night at Quality Inn. We explained coming in that we needed a room quickly to lie down and change clothes so my husband could get to a wedding. They did graciously waive the $150 incidentals fee, but they charged us $35 for early check-in. Upon opening the door to our room, we found it had not been cleaned yet. We went back downstairs and reported the issue. We of course said we needed another room and they wanted to know why we still didn't want the original room. Why would we want a dirty room? Why would we want to wait to have our room cleaned? Anyway, we headed back up to the floor to our new room with the check-in guy and his trainee along with us in the elevator. They rudely spoke in a different language in front of us which is unacceptable. I have no problem with anyone speaking in another language but you don't do it in a crowded elevator after just having issues with them during check-in. You could clearly see by their expressions they were talking about us. The new room was clean but had an odor. At that point we were too tired to care. The bathroom floor was dirty with footprints. We didn't have time to change rooms again. The bed was hard but not as hard as the night before. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. Not sure why the eggs were green but I passed on them. Had to ask them to re-stock most breakfast items. Really was one of the worst Comfort Inns we have stayed in.

Staff was efficient and smooth getting checked in. The hotel was stinky like an old ladies house. The property was full of homeless people and the door to get inside (side of building) didn’t even lock. Didn’t feel safe. Would not stay again.

This is a nice place with a hot breakfast. Beds were comfortable and it was clean throughout. We've stayed here more than once to visit our UNT student.

This place made for a nice night sleep. Bed was comfy room was clean and it was near lots of shopping and dining. It was really nice and a good price.

We were not comfortable with the idea of people gathered around outside near the property. These look to be homeless people and people visiting nearby slum hotels. The lobby had a bad odor but the room itself was fair. Would not recommend as far as location is concerned. I would not stay here again.

Decent hotel in an area that seems a bit sketchy. Maybe it was the used tires by the front door that made a bad first impression. The inside was ok and we felt safe. We slept well and were not disturbed. I might stay here again, but would compare prices with other places in Denton.

The bed was comfy and the room appeared nice and clean. AC worked well. Staff was friendly and addressed needs. Not fault of hotel, but close to highway so some traffic noise. Breakfast is a "full" breakfast and it was just "OK"...other than waffles or a pastry or two there was sausage patty and scrambled eggs, no potatoes or biscuit. My BIGGEST ISSUE WAS fruit flies in the juice. I was first one in the breakfast room and when i got OJ from the dispenser i saw the fruit flies flitting around plus all in my juice. Apparently someone is not keeping those dispensers clean. I will say that when brought to staff attention they cleaned and they replaced all juice with new containers.

First of all the gentlemen at check in was unfriendly. Second this is not a 100 dollar a night room. Breakfast was not good cheap ingredients.

This is a great, affordable place to stay. Desk staff are always welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast. Always clean.

The property was comfortable, linens clean, property seems adequately maintained. Breakfast was self-serve. Very nice selection of breakfast items. One staff member was assigned to the dining room. He did a good job keeping items in stock and keeping the area clean.

Hotels on both sides are very questionnable-- worried about my vehicle overnight. A lot of transient people around. Breakfast was bad....eggs that were off color (kind of grey) with no meat. Asked for butter or peanut butter for toast and was told they didn't have any. Only bananas present- and most were more brown than yellow. Positive- check in person was very kind and welcoming.

Nice hotel, Good value for the money, very nice room, comfortable bed and pillows. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub or pool, but breakfast was very nice scrambled eggs, sausage, links and patties, yogurt, pastries and breads, cereals and bananas. Also Denny’s restaurant a few steps away. Very convenient

Close to UNT. I found it surprisingly quieter than expected due to being close to the freeway. Nothing special here. Breakfast was good and simple (waffles, eggs, cereal, pastries). Not the fanciest or nicest but I wouldn't hesitate if the price was right.
