I was excited to stay here because it was outside of the city with the beach and ferry just steps from the hotel. The interior of the hotel is very coastal chic - very well done. I was put in a room overlooking the kegs and refuse from the bar/restaurant -- so that was not great mostly because of the noise of glass bottles being dumped. The hotel was very busy with private events, so the common spaces were not available and it was quite loud. It was great to be so close to the ferry and beach - just be careful to double check the ferry schedule. Download the Opal app - it shows all transport options. I ordered food a couple times, it was good, but nothing special.

The hotel rooms are fantastic, well appointed and comfortable, and the setting of Watson’s Bay beautiful. One thing they could improve on is that there was no minibar at all in the room, and it is not possible to order alcohol (or any food) from room service after 9pm, nor can you bring alcohol back from the downstairs bar/restaurant after 9pm.

Great location easy access to ferries and buses. Hotel courtyard bar and food service is excellent no charge for room service. Food at the hotel is far superior to the overpriced restaurants next door.

The thing to understand about this place is that the bar and restaurant on the harbour front terrace are its focal point, and open to all. The menu is focused on quick dining. The food is pretty good and the prices are fair. Locals refer to WBH as ‘the pub’. The two best rooms in the hotel have a balcony with a view over the terrace and the harbour beyond. You pay extra for these, but ‘the pub’ is pretty noisy, as it is rammed in the evenings, and it was still very early in the season when we were there. There’s no priority for hotel guests. At weekends, there is a big sound system with a DJ facing the hotel, pumping out dance music. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, this was in full swing, and with the doors to the balcony open it was like being in a nightclub in our room. At the end of our four night stay, the hotel asked for feedback, and I pointed out that this level of noise wasn’t conducive to relaxing after a long journey. The response was basically that if you don’t like it, get a room without the view. In some peculiar way, it seems the Pub and the Hotel are under separate management. “The noise levels are something we have put forward to the owners….” It looks to me as though WBH wants to maximise the revenue from a boutique hotel offering a tranquil location - but also a rowdy hotspot for the affluent young of the City. Ultimately, I’m not sure that is going to work.

Amazing stay would stay again in a flash- the room is so comfortable and relaxing - not the usual sterile hotel bedroom. The attached restaurant and entertainment were spot on, modern, simple , unstuffy. Bar closes at 9pm so no issues with noise. I was going to stay longer but the weekend was fully booked.

Lovely hotel in beautiful location with bar and food options right on the premises. Rooms were large and nicely decorated; Bed comfortable. The only downside was the noise at 7.30am on Sunday from the clean up crew/bottles and rubbish compacting. Apart from that, great. I'd stay there again.

Everything just superb! And morning view down the harbour on a sparkling cloudless blue morning was glorious. The only slightly challenging bit was parking, which although free for hotel guests is limited.

The poverty was very nice. it was a special stay for a 21st birthday however we had alarms and had to evacuate the hotel at 12.30pm which interrupted our sleep and we could not get back to sleep after that. Sadly we were very tired in the morning.

We really enjoyed our stay. Watsons Bay is such a lovely location and the hotel was perfect. Modern facilities with great character. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was good. Parking was easy. Beautiful walks with breathtaking views are right on the doorstep. The only thing that could have been improved was the shower - the shower head wasn’t great. We would definitely stay again, and for longer next time around.

We love the Watsons Bay hotel and have been there on a number of occasions. We were disappointed to find that the property looked tired. There were chips off the walls in the common areas, our room needed the ceiling painted due to many marks, 4 downlights didn’t work and 2 were missing their covers, the towel rail in the bathroom fell off a few times and the toilet seat wasn’t connected properly. Outside the window, the awning was full of tree bits and leaves. This property is in need of some maintenance.

Beautifully decorated rooms and good quality furnishings. Great location, close to ferry and a good coffee shop close by. The room was fairly clean. Shower could have been cleaner and the toilet floor around the edges. Staff friendly at reception and helpful. When our room was cleaned there was no replacement of milk or sugar and I had requested regular tea as there was only green tea or peppermint tea on offer. Replacement was not done and I had to chase down the tea and some some extra coffee and sugar at reception. We stayed for 2 nights however had to go to reception to have our card reset when we found we couldn’t get back into our room When we went to the hotel bar it was crowded, noisy- no where to sit and a very poor selection of alcohol so we went to Doyle’s garden bar and enjoyed the quieter atmosphere with a better selection of drinks. Overall a nice experience and only small setbacks but we probably won’t be back due to the abrupt bar staff and spending time following up issues

Perfect location!! I walked miles everyday on different routes and enjoyed all the trails and views. The room was large and spacious and clean and tastefully decorated. The restaurant and room service was perfect! Every thoughtful detail I wanted in the room!

The rooms are decorated beautifully, beds are comfortable and the proximity to the waterfront, transport, restaurants and bars is unbeatable. The front desk staff (especially Emma) are all wonderful - friendly and so helpful. They gave us fantastic tips on where to eat, swim, access transport, walk and shops . The loft rooms are perfect for a family of 4 and our stay overall was exceptional.

Told breakfast available from 7 am Get there and told eggs not available until after 8 am . Pathetic offering for Continental breakfast. Room 112 sink has huge cracks in it . Prices are now high but rooms are tired. Love the location and previously stayed here many times in the past . I’ll try something else next time .

I have visited this place with my wife and two young daughters, for four days. We were impressed with everything, exceeding our expectations, despite it wasn’t 5 star hotel. Very good breakfast, good dining, amazing interior - maritime style. Suitable connection with Sydney centre by ferry, which is just behind corner. I would like to back again to Watson Bay Boutique Hotel. Highly recommended. :)

We were greeted by Chelsea and JB who were a wonderful introduction to this hidden gem. In fact the staff overall were wonderful but Chelsea and JB were there to help us everytime we needed something. The hotel itself is wonderfully set out and the rooms had everything needed. There were 3 weddings on during our stay and when we retired to the room you would never had known an event was even taking place. Which gave us a great night's sleep. The location is wonderful, surrounded by beautiful scenery in every direction. The ferry arrives and departs 1 minutes walk from the hotel which will take you into the heart of the city. We loved this place and on our 3 weeks travelling around NSW and Canberra this was our favourite place. From management to breakfast staff everyone was polite and helpful. The hotel and location were spot on. We will definately be back.

Our stay was totally underwhelming and disappointing. The hotel is rundown there was no sign of any management whatsoever, the staff were very sweet but totally untrained and I would not even consider recommending it to anyone else

Waited forever for front desk help. They overbooked so I didn't get the room I paid for and had to move multiple times. The manager said I would get half of my night stay which was a blatant lie and now they are unresponsive. Horrible experience.

This place is a hidden gem. It's a bit of a drive to get to the CBD, but that's what's great about it. The staff and the vibe at this place are great. Loved the beachside location and access to the ferry. Rooms and hotel were all super clean. Rooms are more spacious and updated than we expected. The walk to the lighthouse and the views of The Gap are incredible! Had breakfast twice at the restaurant and it was excellent.

Property was in a quiet location with very friendly and helpful staff. Property was convenient for ferry terminal to Circular Quay and had comfortable accommodation. Close to good swimming facilities with a good choice of local dining facilities. Overall we would recommend staying at this hotel.

I was excited to stay here because it was outside of the city with the beach and ferry just steps from the hotel. The interior of the hotel is very coastal chic - very well done. I was put in a room overlooking the kegs and refuse from the bar/restaurant -- so that was not great mostly because of the noise of glass bottles being dumped. The hotel was very busy with private events, so the common spaces were not available and it was quite loud. It was great to be so close to the ferry and beach - just be careful to double check the ferry schedule. Download the Opal app - it shows all transport options. I ordered food a couple times, it was good, but nothing special.

The stay was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is great and the staff were excellent. The restaurant was so average. Our pizza was cold and the wait staff were rude. The pub was great and so was the bar tender. Would stay again at the hotel in a flash.

Beautiful property with ferry terminal directly outside. Easy to get to central Sydney while able to enjoy quiet waterfront location. Multiple walking trails around the peninsula. Not many shops close by the but the restaurant hotel was very reasonably priced and had lots of options. Upscale seafood restaurant just next door, fish and chips at the ferry terminal. Very nice breakfast. Staff very attentive. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in beautiful location with bar and food options right on the premises. Rooms were large and nicely decorated; Bed comfortable. The only downside was the noise at 7.30am on Sunday from the clean up crew/bottles and rubbish compacting. Apart from that, great. I'd stay there again.

Restaurant staff are on a bigger holiday than guests. boys behind bar to busy eating while attempting to serve..POOR. Pizza cook flat out doing her best, to bad she had no backup 8 pizzas on counter for 5 min, not sliced when put on table,Sent back still not sliced properly,now cold. Had 3 SORRY ABOUT THAT. The night before had to ask 3 workers to get info on daily special deal gave up in the end. Heard the G/MANAGER staying shortly maybe he should do an undercover meal, or maybe not he would have to let go of half the staff.

I have visited this place with my wife and two young daughters, for four days. We were impressed with everything, exceeding our expectations, despite it wasn’t 5 star hotel. Very good breakfast, good dining, amazing interior - maritime style. Suitable connection with Sydney centre by ferry, which is just behind corner. I would like to back again to Watson Bay Boutique Hotel. Highly recommended. :)

Our hotel room was lovely, but overall the value for money was hideous. Everything at the hotel was a total ripoff. I tried to buy a bottle of wine from the bottle shop- they had only Chardonnay, I wanted Sauvignon blanc. I questioned that surely he can grab a bottle from one of the bars and sell it to me at bottle shop prices as a guest. No - I had to pay $65 through room service. The included breakfast is only toast and cereal. On day 1 there was only raspberry jam to put on your toast. On day 2 I ordered a side of scrambled eggs for my 7 yr old daughter but was told I couldn’t order just a side, I had to pay $15 for scrambled eggs that came with tomato and whole grain sourdough - and she eats neither of those things. I paid $60 for 2 children to eat a few mouthfuls of eggs and bacon and hash brown. My dad got terrible food poisoning from the fish pie on the first night too.

We stayed in the harbour view loft. Check-in was relatively straight forward. Apart from the view the room and amenity are very average. Probably an equivalent of a 2.5-3 star hotel. Don’t expect too much for breakfast, just toast and jam, milk and fruits. A nice weekend away though.

Lovely spot on the water and to the ferry across to Circular Quay. New restaurant on site Missy K is beautiful food. Bar onsite. Staff at reception are great. Room was clean with view of water and partial view of Harbour Bridge.
