Boat Harbour Motel

Lift not working, the room key failed to get us in the main foyer door after hours.

The location was perfect for the event we attended. The room was dated and the aircon was old and noisy. The staff were very friendly. It suited our needs. The restaurant was under renovation and not open. The cafe was great for breakfast.

Room was spotless, well equipped for the price and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was really handy and the Basin Cafe below the motel serves excellent breakfast.

Motel is old and out of date. Rooms were old but clean and comfortable. Onsite cafe' and Italian resteraunt.

Limited parking. Very narrow parking spaces. Bathroom had not been cleaned properly sand on floor used soap cakes with pubic hairs left in shower. Skimpy thin towels. Carpets through out very shabby need replacing. Location good. View from room excellent.

Dissatisfied that lift was not working.

Restaurant was closed. Cafe was closed. Room old and tired. Bathroom small, old and not inviting. Carparking was a joke, not enough spaces. Chairs didnt fit with tables. Airconditioning antiquated. Impossible to have any dark at night with floodlights beeming in through the windows at night.

Close to everything, tidy and clean. Room was a bit dated but good for what we needed. Parking was ok, but not enough for when motel was full as it was on the 2 nights we stayed. Would stay there again.

The only negative I have is the the elevator makes a really loud noise

The carpet had strange marks on it and there was mould in the bathroom ceiling. Needs cleaning.

The location of the property is superb & dining options are within a few minutes walk. However would have been nice for the coffee shop (downstairs) to have been open until at least 4 pm. The reception area is nice and welcoming but the floors (fake grass) along the corridors and on the balcony did not appear clean and make the place look worn out. Not sure about the other rooms but the carpet in the kitchen area of the room was filthy and so was the bathroom floor tiles both inside the shower area and outside. The linen and bed area were immaculate and presentable. The aircon in our room was not working and was so noisy. Its a nice spot and wish these areas could be rectified for comfort.

room was overlooking carpark and they need to invest into some curtains that block out light as the spotlights from the carpark light up the room at night like it is daylight ..

Lovely old school vibe. Great location next to waterside. Large room. Clean and comfortable. A little bit noisy from traffic at times but didnt interrupt sleep.

The bathroom was the smallest I have seen EVER but the room was fine-basic, quite spacious, clean well heated and with a comfortable bed, so by all accounts should have been a comfortable stay....but instead of the Boat Harbour view we were led to believe in advertising we had an asphalt car park and rubbish skips outside our window. The Hotel is nothing more than a residential style, old tower about a bloc away from the harbour. The penthouse suite perhaps?offers a view of the harbour but all we had was a view of an asphalt car park with rubbish skips outside our window. It was disappointing and when I complained I was told that all the rooms have identical furnishings but the type of room ie Ocean View/Park view differentiate the accommodation rate. That makes sense and I accepted this explanation but it didn't say that Standard room has a car park and Rubbish skips outside and the promotional photos do not indicate this either. Boat Harbour Motel is deceptive name when the hotel is located a block away from the harbour. It is a pity because the stay would have been comfortable had the false expectations not been created. Transparency is a good policy at all times. I also suspect they allocate more inferior rooms to bookings that are made via an agent. And the standard room may have been acceptable on a higher floor. Considering booking was made months ahead I doubt that the worst room in the category was the only one available.

It is old, very worn cheap carpets, rooms very basic, extremely noisy (cafe under window and noisy street). Restaurant no longer ooerating,

We had a great stay at Boat Harbour Motel. A quick, easy check-in with friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a King Ocean view room on the second floor with a beautiful view of the harbour and ocean. A large balcony to sit and enjoy the view. The room was a good size and exceptionally clean! It had everything you needed for a one-night stay, including a small kitchenette area with a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was quite small but adequate, with a lovely soft shower head. The air conditioner was a larger, older unit, but was very efficient and cooled the room down quickly! The bed was very comfortable. You will need an adaptor to change your phone, as there are no USB ports and the only power point near the bed is behind it! Motel was full, yet the room was fairly quiet with only noise outside in the corridor. The artificial green grass outside on the stairs and landing is a good non-slip surface. The T.V. was very small with poor sound but offers Prime and Netflix (need to sign in and don't forget to sign out!). Lovely area with beach an easy walk across the road. Motel restaurant was closed when we were there so grabbed some fish and chips for dinner at Levendi (on the beach), so delicious! There is a free city bus that takes you on a 20 minute loop of the surrounding area. Convenient stop opposite beach, close to Motel. Even though this Motel is older, it is very well-maintained and looks good! We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend and return again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff are lovely, parking is easy and plentiful, and it’s so close to everything. Rooms are spacious and have comfy beds.

Room was clean and tidy and motel is in a good location. Unfortunately when we arrived we were given the wrong room key so we ended up opening the room of another guest… awkward. Reception was a bit confused but we ended up with a different key to a room that was luckily vacant. While only a mild inconvenience at the time it made us feel a little unsafe and uneasy for the rest of the stay. Would not stay here again due to this fact.

Nice sized renovated rooms within walking distance to great cafes and the harbour. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

I was impressed by the friendliness of reception. The rooms were nicely updated. The TV had Netflix and YouTube!! The room had a balcony and I could let in fresh air. Parking was free and easy. There was a handy cafe for breakfast.

Staff weren’t exactly effusive in the welcome. The whole place has a feel of a backpackers. Don’t like the smell, the thinness of the walls or the lack of power points near the bed. Cafe underneath is good but too busy and slow

Great location, walking distance to restaurants, beach and ocean pools. Although its an older building, the rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Check in was easy and the gentleman at the front desk was lovely. The cafe downstairs is perfect for breakfast, their smoked salmon bagels are exceptional... great coffee too! Will stay again

The perfect stay and location.

I enjoyed being right on the Harbour in Wollongong and on th free bus 55A and 55C route and the Blue Mile walk. The room was a nice size, a little larger than many motel rooms, with a balcony. It was clean and comfortable and the lift was efficient. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Boat harbour motel was very conveniently locate right beside boat harbour. Beautiful outlook.

Although the rooms were very dated, the location and staff made up for this. The bed was comfortable enough but not super comfy. The shower was really hot, lovely. Cafe on site served great coffee and breakfast. The receptionist was lovely. Location was close to the harbour and walking path. Parking was great.

The staff were very friendly and room was very clean. Had a seafood platter at their restaurant which you have to pre order and it was fantastic. Would go back again.
