Rooms did not have toasters or tissues the smoking area was not cleaned the whole time we stayed. No lift so there were lots of stairs to climb.

Staff were amazing. The food at the on-site Chinese Restaurant "Fusion" was so delicious & large servings. The motel is old but very comfortable. There is a Cabana near the pool which we utilised both afternoons that we were therre.

Stayed for 2 nights in a Superior Spa Suite. Quick, easy and friendly check in. The Suite was a great size - really big living area and bathroom. Very comfy king size bed. Great location between Nelson and Shoal bay. Lots of free parking. Would definitely stay again.

Messaged the property to say we would be checking in late. They said I would be sent the details of after hours check in for the lockbox at 4pm on day of arrival via text. No text recieved, no message & the phone number wouldn’t go through. Had to stop to use a payphone in a different town at 9pm to just get the info to get in. Dated rooms, cockroaches in the room and rust on much of the furniture. Low level of cleanliness and overall poor quality.

Unfortunately the property was not very clean internally. - Carpet badly needs replacing - very stained and dirty -Only 1 window had a fly screen - couldn’t leave window open in the second bedroom as our toddler could have climbed out -Holes in walls - needs repainting too -Very dusty fixtures and light globe missing from one lamp - No wifi reception where we were -Apartment didn’t get serviced for 2 days & couldnt get new towels as reception was closed @ 5:30pm (although it was Easter Sunday). Still I feel they should have been serviced - Old musty smell as soon as we walked in Could be perfectly liveable but needs work. Judging by other reviews it appears they all get the same response but things don’t seem to be changing

We were allocated room 109 which had a faulty detector which constantly made loud clicking noises through the entire day and night which made it impossible to sleep. Air conditioner constantly leaked and had quite clearly been that way for quite sometime as carpet beneath was damp and mouldy. Room smelt as the mouldy when you enter the room. Shower screen surround on shower floor was mouldy and dirty and quite clearly had not been cleaned for ages. One Star rating!!

Kudos to the maintenance guy who tried to rectify a number of items for us. The room was very dirty on arrival, the shower screen was off it’s hinges. The floor had not been vacuumed. Windows dirty and couch had massive rips in it. The pool was out of action due to a water leak affecting the ph levels. The restaurant was closed due to new management changes. The motel is on a roundabout and very noisy. The outside lights stayed in till after midnight and the curtains did meet to her the light out. There is a venue across the road snd in a Saturday night the music was very loud till at least midnight. We paid cheap, however this should still get us a clean room with facilities. We couldn’t move room as they said there was no other available. The area is lovely and looked like there were plenty of other options to stay at.

Unfortunately the bathroom hadn't been cleaned well. There had been a leak in the room so the bedding was stained, and room smelled like wet dog. When I told them about it, they weren't particularly bothered. Good Location though.

Where do I start? Very disappointing after reading the reviews. I didn’t want to share this but I feel it’s better to be honest sometimes about our experience as even our children complained. A cockroach flew out of the air con when I turned it on and was super noisy so we had to turn it off when sleeping. The couch was so old and sunken in we couldn’t even sit on it. Everything in the kitchen was filthy. The instructions after hours were abysmal in the rain with 2 buildings; we had no idea where we were going and had no one to ask being after hours up and down stairs and all around the property; the wifi didn’t reach the apartment we were in. The beds were clean and tidy; that was the best part. Other than that I wouldn’t stay at this property again.

We booked the property online through travelocity. My wife found Peninsula Nelson Bay Motel & we booked it for the reasonable price. $136 a night. On receiving the invoice the bill was $231??? Not sure how it was so unclear that the price was going to be so different. The room was a bed, very uncomfortable lounge & a view of the Neighbours brick wall. Not really appealing to book again.

Located within a flat walkable distance to Shoal Bay, in a quiet location. Staff were friendly. We had the 3 bedroom unit, shared by 4 single adults, spacious and clean.It is an older property l, 2 stories, with a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms, our room could do with a new lounge (it was torn), but for the cost, it was good value and clean. Easy off street parking. There’s a lovely in-ground pool area and a restaurant on site - we didn’t get to use them. Walking distance to Wests Club was handy for dinner.

The shower was the worst I have ever had in a motel (and I am not young!) Water pressure was very low and the hot and cold water were impossible to mix to get a normal temperature. It was either too bot or too cold. The mattress was too soft.

Nice motel excellent rooms and close to a good club. Only downside is that they txt you info on your room and how to get in after hours but their computer system doesn’t work so the txt was not sent, this also happened to others.

Very poor reception staff. Knocked the door at 9:45 AM asking to check out. Insane. It was mentioned as 1,183.92 AUD for 3 nights stay during the reservation, but they deducted 1,201.68 AUD (Debit card payment, not CC). Do not recommend anyone going there or I will not go there again.

Had a good night sleep in room 208. Nice big room with king bed (good quality mattress/pillows/sheets) and a two seater sofa, yet not cramped at all. Par a chip in furniture all in good condition. Blockout curtains, view of palms and bush beyond when open. Generous with tea, coffee and cookies etc Ironing board and iron in cupboard. Bathroom has shampoo/conditioner/bodywash etc The room was clean and smelled nice upon entering. Parking onsite, pool in inner courtyard and a bonus.... Korean restaurant on premises. Friendly service, walkable to town and beaches and there's a bus stop very close as well. Would stay again

Very very comfy bed. We can hardly find any hotel that has real bed and this is the one! We finally managed to take some long needed rest sometimes get away just to be able to rest properly while exploring the areas. We would definitely be considering staying in Peninsula again whenever we visit Nelson Bay area. The Korean restaurant in the hotel complex offers great food, definitely a must do visit each time!
