We really enjoy staying here. Each time we go to Nelson Bay, we stay at Oaks. It is an excellent property and one of the cleanest, well equipped places we've stayed at. The parking is great, laundry machines available and friendly staff to help with your stay. Highly recommended!

The rooms were clean and staff were friendly. However only 1 lift worked the whole time we were there. Also very poor laundry facilities. For such a big complex there were only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers.

Was given a room that was different to what was booked and paid for. Instead of 2 bathrooms the property had 1 and the bedrooms were supposed to be in seperate areas but they were next to each other. Pillows were all high, thick, hard and uncomfortable. Surely you can a mix to suit different requirements. WIFI was about as useful as a flyscreen on a submarine and we all had to hotspot off our own phones. Not sure why you would have to pay more for alleged faster speed when you just offer the best speed to everyone.

Overall a good place to stay while in Nelson Bay. Underground secure parking, easy to use lift, clean room with a comfortable bed, kitchenette with a good array of glasses, cutlery etc walking distance to everything in Nelson Bay. Has a laundry in the basement near the lift which is free, just bring your own washing powder etc

Overall, the property was not so bad unfortunately surrounding areas were quite racist to multi culture. Some of the staff were excellent some were very friendly and the pool needed cleaning and filtered. Also, there was a rat inside the barbecue machine

Had a lovely Bayview room. Was on 4th floor. Sounded like someone had a wrestling studio or gym above me. Even at 1am. Lots of heavy thuds on the floor. The apartment is very spacious. There are about 14 stairs when you enter. The view is fantastic. Laundry was very clean. Staff were excellent. A few things need fixing in the room including a very leaky iron and dirty cushion covers. The bed was very good.

The lady at the reception was friendly and efficient. The property is good but quite dated. Needs refurbishment. The room was very clean. You could see despite the new carpets, water marks on the edge of walls and the air conditioner was noisy. Excellent location..

Good location, generally clean and spacious rooms. However, the wall mounted air conditioner in my room was unacceptably noisy making sleep challenging. The black out curtains were ineffective and allowed too much light in at night again making sleep difficult. Other than that, If these two issues were resolved, I would highly recommend this property.

Generally the price I paid was fair and the apartment was spacious. The stay was peaceful. However the fit out of the apartment was from 20 years ago, still have halogen downlight in inadequate quantities. The effect from a single downlight in the bedroom gives a dim feeling to the room. The fridge is showing its age with broken interior shelves. Also if one has disability, you will find the hallway has steps from its unusual design, and half of the apartment would need to walk up 15 steps from its designs. Overall I hope the owners would spend some money in refreshing the lights, appliance, and stock better quality toilet rolls. Internet was public access so I wouldn't use it for anything important.

Was a great stay until the power outage happened, no power all night no staff to tell us what was going on. Had to leave early as still no power or hot water, staff didn’t seem interested in offering a free night or discounted night for the night that was ruined

Before the stay, I called to confirm that I will be late for check-in. The hotel assistant insisted that I provide a c/c number over the phone and overcharged me for the stay. When I looked on Wotif the charge was $665 instead I was charged $675. Next day when I enquired, the hotel staff said this is c/c surcharge and refused to refund the difference. They seriously did not tell me when charging c/c over the phone. The customer being notified of the c/c surcharge when paying. This is misleading the customer.

Reception was unwelcoming when we arrived- the room was tiny, had metal vertical shutters outside windows so horrible outlook, we were right on the street level so lots of noise from people walking past and traffic, the TV was a small budget tv with no digital Chanel’s or sound bar….
