Regency Inn & Suites - Saint Augustine

This is our third time staying at this property. I'll start with the positives. We love the location, right across from the pier. The room is pretty clean and comfortable, though the hotel is showing its age and could use some upgrades. Overall, I feel it's a decent value for what we paid, and the staff was very friendly. Having said that, we'll probably choose another hotel for our next stay. There are several areas in need of a good cleaning. The windows around the pool area are filthy. The ice machine on the first level didn't work. We would have liked for there to be a safe in the room, and breakfast is no longer included, only coffee. To be fair, we knew about the lack of a safe and breakfast from other reviews - just stating a preference. Also, the neighborhood doesn't feel as safe as it once did (not the hotel's fault, obviously). By far the worst was the elevator. We only used it once, at the end of our stay, to take our luggage out on a cart. It smelled awful, and the floor was really sticky. We chose to take the steps back up to our room after unloading. In general, this hotel met our needs for our stay. But I think there are probably better options for us in the area next time around.

Convenient to many restaurants and the pier. Downfall was it appears like their are permanent residents living there. And they were selling parking spots for the locat craft fair and made it difficult for us to park.

Great location near the beach and restaurants . Room was clean and parking was easy. My only complaint was the elevator didn’t work which wasn’t a huge deal since it’s only a two story building.

Love the location. Staff was great. The only issues we had was the pillows were flat and hard. Parking is ok if you get there in the afternoon but just know that they will rent parking to beach goers as well which makes parking difficult during daylight hours. We have stayed here twice and will be back again.

Rooms was very clean with fresh linens. Quiet and great area/neighborhood. Very close to beach, pier, and restaurants. Excellent coffee in the main lobby. Clean indoor pool for when the sudden storm disrupts outdoor life. Had a great time staying there. Staff was very helpful and professional.

Right across the road from the pier and within walking distance from breakfast and lunch/dinner options. Within easy driving distance from area attractions. Parking was tight however

Great value for the price. Very clean, nice hot water and water pressure for an awesome shower after the beach We weren't big fans of the indoor pool. But the other folks seemed to enjoy it.

Pros: A convenient and inexpensive place to sleep for events at Anastasia. It’s close to the venue and a Circle K adjacent to get post concert goodies since no restaurants are open at that time in the vicinity and gas up in the morning. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and the embassy suites across the street has a Starbucks inside. Cons: parking is tight and very limited. Don’t be that person towing a boat with a large truck and take up 6 spots.

It was close to the beach.Staff was very friendly.Only negative was the indoor pool wasn't very warm it seemed to have issues staying warm.But I would stay again for sure.

Do Not stay here!!!! As soon as you walked in the room the smell hits you first, the there was sand all over the floor, ask for someone to clean it and the lady at the desk gave me a broom and dustpan. The smell actually came from the mildewed or moldy curtains. The bathroom had mold and the fan was incredibly dirty. Now let’s add on the tenant in room 117 that lives there and when you walk by the room with his curtains open you can see all of the garbage, actual garbage and hoarding there is, as he stands by his new truck and smokes and stares at you.

FLOORS are so dirty! Floors made my shoes dirty! I highly recommend mopping the floor with their nice white towels! After a few hundred people do that, they “might” get a clue! EVERY ROOM should come with cleaning products! Dirtiest hotel room I have EVER stayed in! MY KINGDOM FOR A SWIFFER WET JET! Which I would Immediately throw away forever! The SAND in your bed is from the hotel room floor, NOT THE BEACH!

The cleaning staff use very strong scented products and the room is still dirty? The front office clerk did help me find a room that wasn’t so strong smelling so I appreciate that but please review the cleaning procedures and products used with the cleaning staff.

Clean room, always courteous staff, great location acros from the Pier.

The room smells like so bad. Garlicky and moldy. They change the top sheet but I could see pubes, long hairs, and crumbs on top of the mattress protector under the sheet. Pillows smelled the cases hadn’t even been changed. Being close to the beach is the only pro here.

Location and price were great. You're right across the street from the beach and near restuarants and a nice little outdoor market. Staff were nuce and polite at check in. The room however was very damp and smelled very musty. Also,room wasn't very soundproof and it felt like the neighbours were in our room when they would stand outside to smoke. We only stayed for two nights and were rarely in the room, however on our last night we noticed the entire couch was filled with black mold. Admittedly, we were too tired to do anything about it and left early in the morning.

Not clean place. Tub was clogged, air conditioner was dirty!!!! Floor was super dirty! They have to respect people. We came from the beach and couldn’t take shower, because tub was completely clogged! Nobody checked? It is mean nobody cleaned tub! Air conditioner was suuuuper dirty. Maybe they changed the filler???, but nobody wiped anything.

The room was clean and comfortable.

It was a good clean room at a reasonable price for right next to the beach. I wish they didn't put us in rooms that either adjoined or use to. We could hear the people through the doors talking. Good thing they went to sleep early. We would stay again.

The rooms are dated and a little run down. The staff were friendly and courteous. I was put in a room directly next to a couple who were sitting in camp chairs outside their room smoking and drinking and being very luu it is. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and was annoyed to have to walk through it to get to to my room.

The Regency Inn exceeded my expectations. We booked based on price and location and were pleasantly surprised with the clean, spacious room.

Room 204, with one king bed, was clean, spacious & comfy. The desk staff were friendly. The rooms have been remodeled & have no carpeting, which makes me happy, because carpet holds gross dirt even after vacuuming. There was a decent-sized mini fridge and a small microwave. Everything was in great working order. I could hear sounds from the adjoining rooms, but I travel with earplugs, so it didn't bother me. There was one stain on the ceiling that looked like a previous roof leak that had been painted over. The location is perfect - right across from a major beach access, tucked behind a well-stocked Circle K and with 5-6 restaurants within walking distance. I booked late - the same morning of my first night, and found a great rate on Hotels.com.

The hotel, rooms, pool, etc. look better in the pictures than in person. Th room was clean but sparse. There was a single chair in the room and 2 "beaten up" wooden cubes (2' squares) that were set up like a coffee table in front of the chair. No luggage rack nor hangers or rack for hanging clothes. The shower/toilet area had been renovated (poorly) recently, but a bigger issue is the door swings into that space. My husband is a big guy and he could hardly find room to stand so he could get the door shut. The walls are very thin. We could hear every word from the TV in the room next to ours. Because it was clean we made due, but this hotel is not one we'll return to.

Front desk staff was amazing. Location was excellent. Bed was very hard and room definitely could use some renovations. It was obvious there had been water damage. Dressers were swollen & coming apart due to water damage and paint on was looked like it had water marks , where water had drained down the walls.

Easy check in process. Great quality for the price. Close to restaurants and the beach. Building is dated and rooms show their age.

Overall a decent hotel to stay at. The room was very clean. The ladies at the front desk were very nice! My only complaint is the bed was hard as a rock and my husband and I didn't sleep too well. I absolutely love the fact the hotel is directly across the street from the beach and the pier.

We had a very courteous young lady at the desk when we entered. Very helpful. The room was clean. The shower was hot. The beds were comfortable. And it was right across from a fishing pier for anyone who enjoys that sort of thing. Very close to the beach also walking distance easily

Cannot beat cost for the location! My guest and I stayed our first night with an ever increasing sewage smell. The next day I alerted the staff and they promptly moved us to another room. Other than that, and the first rooms ac unit dripping, and finally the not so good condition parking lot were the only negatives. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend anyone to stay. The Regency has old motel charm and it’s worth a stay.

Refrigerator was not working but staff was very accodating ans gave us a different room. No hangers for clothes bar. No tissue.

Bryan and his staff were very kind and helpful. Everything was neat and clean and the room was large compared to many places I have stayed at.

We had a problem with the wash basin. The water did not go down. We found the housekeeper and explained the problem to her. She promptly got the tools she needed and fixed the problem. that was outstanding.

Brian is truly the best manager I have encountered this year, I am very impressed. He even called me on my cell to ask if I was ok because he knew I was riding my bicycle to the hotel. 5 stars plus!!!

Excellent customer service, staff was amazing. The lady at front desk very nice, then i left item in my room, they called me and offered to mail it to me. Thats going above and beyond. Thank you to all.

This is my go-to spot when staying in St. Augustine. No frills but clean and tremendous value. You're directly across the street from the pier, splash pad (for those with kids), and beach access. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, and more.

Personnel super nice. Property needs updating but clean for what we needed for a one night stay. Convenient to beach/pier, dining. Gas station right in front that’s open 24/7 and they are super nice too. I’d do it again if coming through!

Great location by lighthouse and pier, only 10 minutes from old town, great price

It does not look like it does in the pictures. In need of repairs. Headboard in room was covered in plastic and was torn. The floor did not feel clean to barefeet. TV remote had BBQ sauce or ketchup on it. No door chain. Looks like it has several long term stays. Chairs outside of rooms and by the fence for smoking and drinking. Did not feel safe. No electric sign, old board looking one on side of building.

Overall it was good. The one downside is that the temporary sign is very hard to see from the street - we wasted time finding the place. Be aware there is no breakfast, but coffee is available and there are places to get breakfast within easy walking distance. Location is good - close to the state park & beach. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I like that the beach is close to the place. Circle K is right next door. Also the best restaurant is two doors away.

This hotel is in perfect proximity to the beach. It is a cross the street from St Augustine beach pier, next door to Salt Life restaurant, that has outdoor seating and live music, and 2 blocks from a breakfast dinner.

It’s a hotel close to the beach, so expect sand everywhere. The hotel was clean, I felt safe and the staff were exceptional. Coffee in the morning was absolutely delicious. One thing I really wish our room had, was a place to hang our wet clothes after the beach.

Good location if you want the beach. We werent there for beach. Only real issue was dirty floors. Similar to another hotel that had similar flooring. Think it cant be wet mopped. We had thought they did breakfast they dont.
