Hilton Garden Inn Ames

Under construction and didn’t know, gym was closed, the room was fine except remote didn’t work for tv and conditioner was empty

Staff was nice, check in was quick, rooms were clean but the bathroom and a funky smell like wet feet or musty washcloths. Other than that, our stay was great. Comfy beds, nice lobby area, and the kids loved the pool and hot tub.

The staff was very friendly and this hotel was clean and very nice. I got in a great workout in the gym and enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. There were lots of great options. I would definitely stay here again.

No help from associates, digital cards did not work at the pool, gym or any outside doors. Front desk associate upon arrival did not greet guest. Around 11:15 on check out day, we were called and told that we left a laptop and a bag and maybe something else in the room. The called did not see the items, not look at the room prior to making the call. We quickly left our lunch (in another town) and drove to obtain the items that we were very confused about leaving at the hotel. The hotel staff assured us that we had left multiple items in our room and were inquiring if we had actually left. After we left our lunch and turned back around in the opposite direction of final destination, we received a call from the hotel staff that we had not left anything in the room. The cleaning staff did not recognize the packed up pack-in-play (owned by the hotel) or the tray that the coffee sits on, it was confused for a laptop. This delayed our trip over an hour. The disorganization at this hotel was astonishing. We can to swim and they were cleaning the pool. There were not guests there...couldn't they have done this prior to check-in time? It felt very intrusive and unprofessional to have a creepy old man cleaning the pool while my family and 2 daughters were trying to enjoy the hotel we had paid for. I would give 0 stars for the overall experience, given this is a HILTON hotel. I have way higher standards for customer service, hotel cleaning standards and overall appearance.

Plenty of parking, well lighted parking lot.

Out in west Ames, but easy to get to and a modern clean spacious facility

Staff was very friendly and helpful. the lobby was clean and spacious. Also had an excellent party room that was used by our grandson's hockey team.

Hotel and room was excellent, clean and well maintained. Parking was a little though but not impossible. The area will benefit of some restaurants

Room cleaning seemed very rushed—food in the kitchenette sink, hairs around the bathroom sink, lightbulbs burnt out.

the bed was very comfortable as was the room... i however did notice a few things that I was not quite impressed with. 1. the grout around the shower could use a good clean and 2. when we went to go get ice in the hotel the bucket that they had provided in the room had some mold growing in it. but other than that this hotel worked perfectly for a weekend get away .

The place and location is nice. Unfortunately we booked our stay for 3 nights 4 days and the cleaning was disappointing. We kept asking for towels, shower gel etc. Only once they came to grab garbages out the room. I felt I wasn’t taken care of at all!

The bathroom shower was not really clean, shower smelled like sewer when you took a shower and floor was slimy. Room#100

I had a very negative experience. The fridge in the room was moldy and not working. The next room we were moved to did not have a working AC control panel. It was an adjoining room and we couldn't sleep because of the noise coming from the other room. Overall, I don't see myself returning.

Spacious and comfortable rooms

The hotel was a good place but nothing write home about. Breakfast was $10.00 for a buffett that was comparable to others that are typically included in the room rate but not here. The thing I did not like was the air conditioning. When it came on, it made so much noise I could not hear the television and had to increase the volume. It also made this noise during the night as it came on several times waking up my wife.

Nice landscaping and flowers welcoming guests into the hotel. Hotel was spacious and quiet, comfortable beds and nice breakfast with buffet option (which we prepaid with our room) or menu options.

The rooms are very clean and spacious.

Room I reserved was no longer available due to maintenance issues. Since I booked thru expedia I was told they had no means to contact me. I was offered a king sized bed with roll away instead of the two queens I reserved I did not pay almost $200 to sleep on a rollaway. The room we received was fine. Two breakfast vouchers were issued to compensate. Soap and bodywash dispensers were mixed up and after calling the front desk the lady told me to just switch them out myself which I wasn‘t able to the were stuck. Frontdesk person was not very approachable at check in she just shuffled thru a binder for a while until I asked her what the issue was that‘s when I was told the room was no longer available. It could have been handled better.

Everyone was courteous. Comfortable bed. The built in bedside lights didn't work and the desk lamp bulb was flashing and unusable, even after trying to readjust it. Neither the USB chargers nor the outlets were tight enough to allow for charging, but the bathroom outlet worked for charging. At about 8:30 there was hardly any food in the buffet except the fruit which was excellent. The scrambled eggs were ice cold and the breakfast meat was gone. there was no

We reserved a king bed - overbooked so ended up with 2 queens. Went to check in and computer system was down so had to come back later.

Very clean and comfortable. Located near ISU so perfect location to visit the university. Staff was friendly and expedient with checkin

During my stay the Suite I booked was very clean and house keeping was great and respectful with my stuff i had in the room as I booked for multiple days. They knew what to throw away and what I might want to keep I was impressed when I came back to the room as I was in a hurry in the morning to get somewhere and left it a bit disorganized but I came back to an excellent cleaned room and my luggage and belongings unbothered. I also like that it is close by a place for night activities "Perfect Games" it\'s a very fun arcade place for all ages with bowling this was perfect. Thanks for the great service and having me stay at your hotel during my stay in Ames.

Very enjoyable stay! Friends and family group to go to a football game. Very accommodating let us check in a little early and worked with us to have rooms next to each other. Clean comfy rooms! Had some younger kids along so was nice option to have a bowling alley/arcade across the street.

We came for baskeball tournament in town with several families. we ordered pizza at 930 at night and wanted to let the boys eat together. We were told we could not be in the lobby til after 10pm. So we had to go to our rooms and wait 20 minutes til 10 to come back down and eat as a group. The parking lot was very slippery my son fell going in to check in. The next morning it had snowed and the side walks had not been cleared. The parking lot was not cleared either. which made loading our car hard. (not to mention it was icy under it) We also went down to have breakfast in the morning- there was NO Coffee!! like they had ran out and no coffee could be made. I had already checked out of my room by this time so I could not go back to get coffee.

Don’t like no complimentary breakfast. Will stay elsewhere from now on.
