This has been one of the best places we stayed in Japan. The room was so spacious and very cosy in the winter. The onsens were so relaxing and very clean. We booked to have dinner one night and the food was amazing, so thoughfully prepared, it was an event in itself. The location is great as it's right next to the train for Negano and the bus for the Snow Monkeys.

Excellent service on behalf of the owner who even drove us to Jigokudani. The onsens were excellent and extremely clean and the room was quite spacious and comfortable. Would definitely recommend for anyone making a trip to the area.

A true ryokan experience in a property that is 810 years old! But it looks nothing like a 810 years old building as the exterior and interior were well-maintained and kept really neat and clean. The family running this ryokan were very helpful and friendly with sorting us out during our stay. They were keen to recommend places around the vicinity and helped with our luggage forwarding. Highly recommend dining in the ryokan as well as you will be served a table full of spectacular japanese cuisine. There was also a dedicated parking space for those who drive. There is some food options and a well-stocked lawson within walking distance from the accomodation but I would recommend driving in this beautiful town. The room we got was a traditional tatami room with a sink and toilet attached to the room. In the property, there is also 3 separate onsen bath with one of them being a private onsen. The private onsen were perfect for my partner and I as we really needed the onsen during the winter period. The stay was an experience we won't forget and certainly would revisit in the near future. Thank you for the hospitality and the homemade jam!

전통료칸 경험하기에 저렴한 가격으로 아주 적합 했고 노천탕이 있어서 좋았어요. 하루만 숙박을 해서 좀 아쉬웠어요. 아침 식사도 옵션으로 참 좋았어요. 근데 실내 개인용 (private) 온천탕에 이물질이 많더라고요. 이숙소만이 아니라 시부에 있는 공용온천 9 욕탕에도 이물질이 아주 많았어요. 저희 방이 3층이었는데, 여행가방 들고 올라갔다 내려갔다 하기가 좀 어려웠어요. 주인 아저씨가 친절하게 도와주셨고 전통료칸이라 이해 합니다만 여행용가방 전용 엘리베이터를 설치하면 어떨지 제안해 봅니다.

Quaint family run Ryokan that’s big enough to offer everything you’d want / need, but small enough to feel like home for a couple days. Very friendly owners. Delicious breakfast included with our stay. Outdoor onsen was beautiful; indoor “family/private” onsen was nice with kids.

Traditional Japanese inn with beautiful garden & 3 onsen. Appreciate snacks left in our room. Ryokan is 2 min walk from Yudanaka station with eateries within walking distance. Warm & friendly staff.

We enjoyed our stay at this onsen hotel. The staff were very accommodating and made us feel welcome, and we were able to use the private onsen, which was refreshing after a long day. The only downside was that the room smelled strongly of gas due to the gas heaters, but we adjusted to it. The best part was waking up to a foot of snow! Very beautiful.

The hosts were extremely polite and welcoming. They explained all the house rules in detail and kindly recommended great places to eat nearby. The place was spotless, warm, and very comfortable for an overnight stay with my husband and our two kids. We would definitely come back. We would have loved to stay longer, but we had to return to Tokyo right away to catch our flight.

This place was a very cute, homely, with a family owned ryokan vibe. We had a nice spacious room, the biggest we had in our whole trip to Japan, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The futons were so comfortable compared to other futons we slept on at other ‘trendy’ ryokans. The onsen was very nice and relaxing, they offered both private and public onsen and amenities. The styling is old fashioned but this added to the charm of the place for me and I would definitely stay here again!

We were hoping to stay in a traditional ryokan with access to an onsen and Seifuso did not disappoint. The room was beautiful and the mattresses were set up when we arrived (we travelled late and arrived after 8). One of the owners drove us to the monkey park and pointed out the bus stop to get back which was seamless. Highly recommend this property for a stay! Wish we had been able to avail of their meals which looked delicious. If we're back in Yudanaka, I'd definitely stay here again.

Spacious Japanese style room where no thick mattress was provided. The soft duvet like mattress was comfortable. There was no bath room inside the room itself. Likely because most people will make use of the natural hot spring pool. We were told that our family can have one of the hot spring pools for ourselves without the need to share with other guests. This is a family run hotel. Only the young gentleman can speak English. We were given some sweet and juicy and big Japanese apples as souvenir when we checked out. There were not many restaurants opened during our visit. If you have a car, just drive to nearby outlets to have your meal.

I loved the intimate experience that was offered at this onsen. The outdoor onsen was absolutely stunning and just what I was looking for. The staff was super kind and even gave us a ride to the snow monkey park. Rooms were very large compared to hotels which was a nice plus!

He gave us drive to the snow monkey park which saved so much time and energy! Appreciate a lot! There is one private onsen which was the right size for two people. And could stay there as much as we wanted without reservation. There are two more public onsen too but we did not use this time. Staffs were all so kind and nice, will definitely want to stay here if I want ryokan again in nagano!

Nos atendieron de maravilla!! Excelente atención, en mi reservación faltaba una persona más y me resolvieron al momento, íbamos especialmente a ver a los snow monkeys y cuando llegamos nos llevó personalmente hasta el parque a verlos sin cobrar nada, nos dieron regalo de despedida y siempre estuvieron atentos a que estuviéramos cómodos, el lugar está a 4 minutos caminando de estación de tren, autobús y supermercado!
Nos atendieron de maravilla!! A true ryokan experience in a property that is 810 years old! But it looks nothing like a 810 years old building as the exterior and interior were well-maintained and kept really neat and clean. The family running this ryokan were very helpful and friendly with sorting us out during our stay. They were keen to recommend places around the vicinity and helped with our luggage forwarding. Highly recommend dining in the ryokan as well as you will be served a table full of spectacular japanese cuisine. There was also a dedicated parking space for those who drive. There is some food options and a well-stocked lawson within walking distance from the accomodation but I would recommend driving in this beautiful town. The room we got was a traditional tatami room with a sink and toilet attached to the room. In the property, there is also 3 separate onsen bath with one of them being a private onsen. The private onsen were perfect for my partner and I as we really needed the onsen during the winter period. The stay was an experience we won't forget and certainly would revisit in the near future. Thank you for the hospitality and the homemade jam!

This has been one of the best places we stayed in Japan. The room was so spacious and very cosy in the winter. The onsens were so relaxing and very clean. We booked to have dinner one night and the food was amazing, so thoughfully prepared, it was an event in itself. This place is incredible, everyone was so friendly. And it’s so unique and beautiful. Everything is super accessible and easy to find. Literally only 2 minutes from train station. The food was amazing both dinner and breakfast is very worth it. I am definitely going to book again.

Very relaxing and authentic place to stay and experience traditional japanese ryokan and amazing onsens inside the inn. Owners were very friendly. Great walking distance to lots of great restaurants and bars as well as a good base to explore Shibu Onsen and Shiga Kogen.

Spacious Japanese style room where no thick mattress was provided. The soft duvet like mattress was comfortable. There was no bath room inside the room itself. Likely because most people will make use of the natural hot spring pool. We were told that our family can have one of the hot spring pools for ourselves without the need to share with other guests. This is a family run hotel. Only the young gentleman can speak English. We were given some sweet and juicy and big Japanese apples as souvenir when we checked out. There were not many restaurants opened during our visit. If you have a car, just drive to nearby outlets to have your meal.

전통료칸 경험하기에 저렴한 가격으로 아주 적합 했고 노천탕이 있어서 좋았어요. 하루만 숙박을 해서 좀 아쉬웠어요. 아침 식사도 옵션으로 참 좋았어요. 근데 실내 개인용 (private) 온천탕에 이물질이 많더라고요. 이숙소만이 아니라 시부에 있는 공용온천 9 욕탕에도 이물질이 아주 많았어요. 저희 방이 3층이었는데, 여행가방 들고 올라갔다 내려갔다 하기가 좀 어려웠어요. 주인 아저씨가 친절하게 도와주셨고 전통료칸이라 이해 합니다만 여행용가방 전용 엘리베이터를 설치하면 어떨지 제안해 봅니다.

The on site Onsen natural baths, being able to choose either a private Onsen or alternative public baths, in the hotel. The private baths meant we could have the bath space to ourselves and wear a cosi! We were provided lovely fresh linen traditional robes, towels and footwear, fantastic traditional experience staying in this traditional Japanese accommodation, family run, with everyone being super helpful and friendly. Free coffee machine in reception. Why stay in a concrete tower block when you can experience a traditional hotel with on site onsen bath house - loved the family and the stay here.

I felt right at home. The hosts were super helpful and friendly. The onsen is beautiful. You have a private onsen too. In the property has koi and sakura tree to look at while playing Go. Very zen. Their breakfast and dinner option are so great. So delicious traditional japanese dinner keiseki. I miss this place already!

This is a beautiful Japanese traditional lodging with two shared and a private onsen. It is close to the Yudanaka station and Lawson convenient store. With two kids, we stayed in a large family room with a living room and a bathroom (toilet only). The kids enjoyed watching Japanese kids show in the living room and the grown-ups can relax on the tatami next door. The breakfast and dinner are amazing. Everything is just so perfectly arranged for our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Yudanaka.
