Hampton Inn Indiana

Refrigerator froze food and drink. No shower bath gel in container. Breakfast, especially Theresa was terrific. Pool water very cold

we got there and everything was good except for the pool being shut down for repairs of some sort. I feel like we deserve a partial discount on the stay for that reason, since this was not indicated when I reserved the room a week ago. Knowing this we would have gone somewhere else

Good breakfast and I like the water bottle filler in the exercise room. I also like the exercise room and the fact that there is always available coffee. It would be nice if there was available ice water as well though.

This hotel met all of the basic requirements for a hotel. The room was clean. Things worked in the room, except for the telephone which did not work. But almost everyone has a cellphone these days. The bed was comfortable and the pillows especially comfortable. The towels were fluffy. The breakfast bar was better than in most hotels and I appreciate that it went till 10 A.M. each day. Parking was free and ample. The price of the room was reasonable. I would stay here again.

Good gym

Staff shut down elevator and made people use stairs. Claimed it was broken but it was so kids couldn’t play on it. The pool was open but was so cloudy we were afraid to swim in it.

This hotel is renovated and kept neat and clean, inside and out. Plenty of parking close to entrances. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Our room and bedding was clean. We did have an issue with the hair dryer burning and smoking, and the handle on our toilet was broken. The front desk attendant was a little gruff in manner but not rude or uncaring either. Overall, our stay was pleasant, and we would stay there agaon.

Close to everything. Amazing breakfast! Beautiful and safe around the hotel. Clean room and the lobby was very nice too! The only thing that bothered me was at times I could hear my neighbors next to me when trying to sleep and the pool was too cold. Definitely would stay again!!

A great location for our visit with family and allowed our small dog to also stay in room. The bed was very comfortable. Room was beautiful and clean. However the drapes had small tears, the secondary room safety lock could not be secured, and refrigerator froze everything even at the lowest setting. Staff was always helpful and friendly.

Check in was efficient and the desk clerk was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Our only complaint was that the grout in the bathtub enclosure had some mildew.

We have stayed here multiple times. It is clean and quiet. Having breakfast on site is a real help.

This hotel should not be rated an 8.8 The hotel smells like old food. The carpet and chairs were stained and old. The elevators are filthy. There was a candy wrapper on the elevator for an entire day. The bedsheets were tattered. The toilet almost overflowed. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

We have stayed at this Hampton Inn several times. Most recently I stayed there in April and my husband and I stayed there in September. When I stayed in April, the room was clean, smelled fresh, and was very nice! When we stayed there in September, the room was dingy, didn\'t feel/smell fresh, we had to hold the toilet handle down in order to get it to work and the room just felt like it was in need of an overhaul compared to the one I had before. The real problem that I have with this hotel is the man who works the front desk. I had him both times and he is NOT a good person to represent this hotel line. I have read countless reviews about this hotel and countless people have complained about this man and, yet, he continues to be employed as the "first face that you see" when you get there. He greets no one as you are checking in, doesn\'t ask how your stay was when you\'re checking out, and heaven forbid you ask him a question. You will pay for it with a curt reply and a bad attitude. The one time that I stayed there, I had a question concerning my reservation and he basically chastised me for it, told me that he couldn\'t help me with my question and that\'s "what I got for booking through Expedia and that maybe next time I should book directly with Hampton Inn instead." Sorry, sir, it\'s none of your business how I book my reservation. Customer service is NOT part of his vocabulary and he really should be in a behind-the-scenes position there.

The room was filthy. Dust everywhere. I found a used wash cloth in the shower and the TV didn’t work. I will never stay here again

The property was great and staff was excellent. The doors closing throughout the night was a little annoying because they were loud but overall a very nice stay.

Window curtains worn - one set- and not connected to wand other set. So could not open and close. Fruit salad in morning was canned. & not edible. Fresh fruit - apples were very good.

Facility was fine except for room air conditioner, which constantly cycled on/off and when on blew cold air over bed. Temperature fluctuation made it difficult to be comfortable - either too hot or too cold. All staff were terrific - helpful and friendly!

Clean but no sound proofing between floors and loud from the slightest sounds in the hall.

I’m surprised for a Hampden Inn that this property was run down. Our rooms bathroom door would not close and kept swinging open, the toilet wasn’t attached properly to the floor and the room was very dark. However, beds we’re comfortable, comforter was too heavy for summer but the room was clean which is very important.

Room is ok however it’s small and cramped. There was no luggage cart available at check out so I used an empty laundry cart that was in the hallway to transport my stuff to the car. I went right past the front desk but there was no comment ,question or apology from the manager.

Loved the staff. Weird they didn’t have a bar or closets in the rooms. Loved the location.

Quiet comfortable room and beds and easy checkin. Free breakfast is standard. Nothing fancy but does the job.

Received the wrong type of room requested and paid for a King size bed and received a room with 2 queen beds. Heater would not let you set the proper temperature.

My only problem but a very disturbing problem was i checked in and was in my room and after just a few minutes a stranger opened my door with a key and came into my room. Its very dangerous gor this to happen and should be taken seriously. Let me say it was not at all busy or crowded that the very next person checked in after me was given the same room as me. And i went to the front desk and asked why someone was given keys to my room and was told it was the computers fault. I dont feel thats an acceptable answer and not very concerned for my safety. That is very dangerous. This day that its brushed off as a computer mistake is very unacceptable to me. A stranger was given my room key and walked into the room that i paid alot of money for and i felt very unsafe. You had to realize you just gave the person right after me the same room number and keys. I had to ask if the room keys were returned but i shouldnt have had to ask that . I felt very uncomfortable the entire time. It obviously was not busy was not sold out. How does this even happen and be so unconcerned for me. I have stayed here before but i dont think i should risk my safety. There should have been someone reach out to me and it did not happen.

The clerk on duty at 10 pm (Tyler) was extremely courteous and helpful. He was having an issue with making duplicate keys for some of the other guests, and we had take-out food we were anxious to eat. I told him to take as long as he needed, we weren’t in a hurry. When he got everything sorted, he came to us in the breakfast area and completed our check in

Hotel started off nice, but the condition of a few items dropped our opinion. The fridge wasnt working and was replaced promptly which was good, but the sink was clogged and the desk chair broken. Both issues were brought up when I was prompted to answer how was our stay. They said they would take care of it, but they were still broken when we checked out. Overall our opinion was good. Breakfast was great. But those items from our speific room had to drop the rating from 4 stars.

Reserved two queen beds and they gave out room away.

The front desk people were sloppily dressed and apathetic. The room was quiet but not well vacuumed. There were nail clippings on the floor, which was gross. The breakfast was good.

All the computers were down and the gentlemen on duty had to take all people who checked in to their rooms. He had a lot to do but was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole ordeal. The same thing happened the next morning and we had the same gentlemen. Again, very helpful and pleasant for all he had to do.

The staff was not the friendliest

Nice hotel conveniently located a couple miles outside the city center. Easy access to the Jimmy Stewart Museum. Staff is amazing. Everyone is nice and works to make your stay exceptional.

It was centrally located for the area I needed.

Staff was friendly and helpful, hotel was clean, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was great. We had a wonderful stay while visiting our granddaughter at IUP. The university was only 5 minutes away and also minutes from malls, shops and food.

Desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Everything is kept very clean. Very nice spacious rooms and bathroom. Pleasant entrance and convenient spacious breakfast area. The only bad experience was that the breakfast manager warned us that we should pour the milk from the container into a glass instead of drinking it straight from the container as some of the milk was spoiled. We picked containers that had about 5-6 days still left on the expiration date. Good thing she warned us as 3 of the 4 containers were so spoiled it was truly like chunks of cottage cheese coming out. I notified her and showed her some of the curdled milk and thanked her for the forewarning. She wanted to put the blame on the vendor that they would leave the pallets of milk sitting out in unrefrigerated areas for long periods of time before delivery. If it would have been me, I would have called the distributor and told them that I wanted them to get over right away and bring a fresh load of cases of milk. Tell my hotel manager that maybe the hotel may have to consider getting a different vendor especially if it ever happened again (that is if it was truly the vendors fault, and not the fault of the hotel and/or hotel kitchen. Also, I think it would be "less embarrassing" to pull all the milk out of the dining area and explain the situation to guests wanting milk, than having them experience the curdled milk themselves. It made me question, what else with the food might be spoiled or moldy?

Nothing was unique, but the complimentary breakfast was just sad. Coffee was very weak & tasteless & food choices not great. apples for breakfast, but rarely any bananas., and few healthy choices.

This hotel was amazing. Warm cookies for the kids in the lobby, great breakfast and the staff went above and beyond. Terri was friendly and fabulous! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Top notch. 10/10 recommend!

I only have 2 concerns from my visit. The breakfast was a little disappointing, there was a waffle station but no waffle makers out. I'm not a big breakfast person so missing waffles is a big let down for me. Very few places I have been seem to check the in room coffee makers. This one was well stocked, but did not appear to have been cleaned after prior guests. Again, minor issues but the reason for not a 5 star review. Side note - mattresses were super comfortable!!

Have been going to this particular property for some time, and we really enjoy meeting the lady who takes care of the breakfast. Very polite and eager to help.
