Great location right in the CBD of Sydney. Excellent location for public transportation, food and restaurant options, shopping and entertainment. We loved it. Lovely clean room, serviced daily. Friendly staff. Nice pool and pool area for those hot days. We will be back again one day!!

Brilliantly located just two blocks from Sydney Central Station, directly opposite The Capitol Theatre for major theatre productions, and amidst Sydney's Thai Town for dining and late-night options, this hotel is one of the best balances between quality and convenience for anyone interested in any of those things. The parking is more than block away and deep in the World Square shopping centre, but cheaper than other inner city carparks.

With transport needs so close and shopping very convenient made a great base. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Parking is disappointment, not even anywhere to park to drop off luggage or check in

Short walk from Central station, light rail and all shops. Roof top pool.

This was a perfect hotel for our needs and short stay in Sydney. We loved the roof top swimming pool.

The pool was great entertainment for my kids

Convenient for easy access to key areas in Sydney I wanted to visit. The rooftop ok although small was a nice bonus. I would not recommend the breakfast option due to price and quality .

The room was dirty, bugs and cobwebs everywhere!

The bathroom was not clean. Shower bathtub has a footprint inside of the bathtub.No shower curtain. Every time I shower, water comes out everywhere. The cabinet door was falling apart.

The room was clean, plenty of bathroom supplies. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Seamless checkin. After checking out we were able to store our bags and collect them latter in the day

Room was not very clean - old tooth paste on ties, clothing labels on floor from previous people stay and mould on the shower curtain

Usually I get a great room. Last night a bit ordinary with visible black mould in the bathroom tiles

Poor Wi-Fi in our room. I had to go by the door to use Wi-Fi and was disconnected every time I went inside. I complained to staff that night but no action was taken. Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with same problem.

Bed sagged in the middle,very uncomfortable. Other than that hotel was fine.

No access to water other than tap from the sink. WiFi not working. Room design was really cramped. Room was like a really cheap run down. Broken bed. We left the next day and got a different hotel.

When we checked in, one of the beds was broken so we got moved to another room. The new room was slightly bigger. Air conditioner barely worked, which sucked because the weather forecast was 40°C. Room cleaning wasn’t good, had to request cleaning. The washroom setup was odd, it was awkward to wash face at the sink and the toilet was too close to the wall (I’m 6’1). Location was good, walking distance to shopping and food, but that’s about it.

Internet in the higher floor rooms was spotty at best. We were on the 11th floor and it was hit and miss with slow or non existant page loading for basic sites. We heard all the converaations from the room next door so soundproofing of rooms could be better.

The staff were friendly and the location wasn't too bad, but that is were it ends. The bed was so uncomfortable, I could feel every spring. The bathroom looked like it was 20 years old, I'm sure it was clean but it had stains that show after 20 years of use.

View from window was a brick wall so not a lot of natural light. Rooms are small.

Hotel is in a great location with lots of amenities very close by. It was comfy and clean, The bathroom/shower is a bit small if you are over 5 foot in height, some noise but to be expected in the area. Wifi not great - frequently disconnected or weak. Over all severed us perfectly for our few days away.

It would have been a great stayover and convenient to everything but its lack of sound proofing made it an almost sleepless night ! Also the door is not sound proofed so drunks coming past your door waking you was not on.

Enjoyed my stay. Very clean, convenient to transport and shopping. Reception staff very accommodating.

Great location for seeing Sydney We greatly appreciated early check in We had a problem with our TV - we could only receive 2 channels - cookery shows. We called reception on second evening and receptionist said he would be right up, which he was. He stayed 2 minutes and told us the problem was fixed - quickly left. We could still only get 2 channels, so phoned again. He promptly reappeared and after another 3 minutes left saying the problem was solved. It was not, we phoned again and he returned promptly. He stayed longer about 5 minutes this time and told us he had fixed the problem. He left. Now we could select 61 channels. Unfortunately we could only hear the sound - the screen remained locked to “Welcome to the Metro Hotel Marlow” sign!!! We called a fourth time - he promptly re-appeared and finally worked out how we could see the channels. He hardly spoke during all these visits - we tried joking and laughing about it, but never got rude or annoyed with him. We thanked him for his help. Why it took 4 visits was beyond us - he never stayed to see whether what he had changed in the settings worked properly. He explained that the problem was because the TV was not connected to the internet. Finally - we saw this young man in the street by the hotel the next day - he blanked us!! That evening when we came back into the hotel he was on reception - he blanked us again!! All we can say to this is “weird”!!

Manager Zrinka Pusic was extremely rude and obnoxious. We simply asked about early check in and the way we were spoke to was terrible. We tried to ask a question and she walked off on us. Rest of the staff were lovely but would not stay again after being treated like this.

Really helpful staff and a really nice hotel, we had a clean tidy room and everything worked. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of the city, there's also a tram stop in the next road and it's a 5 minute walk to the main railway station. If we were in Sydney in the future we would definitely stay at the Metro Marlow again.

Very pleasant staff and awesome service

The hotel charged me a $100 dollar bond fee agains the room charge even though the room was paid for in advance and didn't credit back the $100 bond fee they charged on my credit card before I left. They told me that I had to chase my bank up for the credit to be applied back to my credit card. This is both elligal and not at all a customer friendly experience. If I had of known this up front I probably would have chosen a different place to stay!

Staff were excellent, i was able to check in early as my flight was an early arrival which helped me rest and able to enjoy Sydney after a rest

The location was perfect for us. Centrally located and easy access to theatres, restaurants, shops and public transport.

Perfect location for a getaway - especially for Capitol Theatre and Chinatown. Easy access to central station and light rail to get into the city for shopping. Staff great and room very comfortable. Pricing very reasonable. Will come back again!

The location was perfect for a night in the city. I could walk from either Central or Town Hall station. It was easily walkable to darling Harbour and CBD shopping. The staff were amazing and polite. The rooms are a bit dated and in need of some maintenance. It was an affordable comfortable stay.

The $25 breakfast buffet was quite expensive given the quality of the food (the scrambled eggs were terrible) , most of the food was luke warm. Lesson learnt. Go somewhere else. However, this was the only over the four night stay that I had. No more packet scrambled eggs please

Room was exactly what we needed for a weekend in Sydney. Wish there was a discount on parking. Breakfast was not worth the price.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Perfect refuelling for a tired old metal head.
