Comfort Suites West Dallas - Cockrell Hill

Not very friendly or welcoming upon arrival. The room was clean but the pool was not. The jacuzzi did not work. The coffee was not drinkable. The banana waffle did have a good taste. I don’t know if the lady that checked us in did not have a good personality or was just having a bad dad. While in the pool employees sat outside the pool fence to smoke and it smelled so bad we left. Not a good experience at Theo’s location.

We checked in right before 9pm on 6/29. The front desk lady was nice but you could tell she was short staffed. I asked about when the pool closed, and she quickly said its open but it closes at 10pm. I told her thats fine we just wanted to relax in it for a bit after our long drive. Then I asked about pool towels and she said they were by the pool. So we quickly went to our room, there we were greeted with a musty smell and a HOT room! I turned down the air, plugged in fan we brought, and we quickly changed and headed to pool in hopes the room would be cooled a little on our return. Once at the pool, the hot tub was out of order and nasty, there were no towels, and the door that goes to the pool will not open with the key, so you have to go all the way around the building to get back inside. I went to get pool towels and the lady was upset and said there are towels by the pool, but I had checked all the boxes and the bathroom outside before I went back in for the towels. After our time in the pool, each of us took showers, only 3 towels in the room for 5 people. Called front desk, phones was not working right, so sent son to get towels, she told him she thought were trying to tell her something was wrong with the TV when we had called. The shower head was very nasty with calcium deposits and the room had cooled a little but not fully. I guess I was so disappointed in our stay here after we had just had 2 amazing nights at the same chain in Carlsbad New Mexico.

While the hotel overall was not necessarily “dirty” the bathroom had lose tile around the tub from chronic water exposure and there was dirt and grime where the bathroom tile met the entry carpet. The a/c was not very efficient, it cooled well enough bit was very noisy when starting and operating. The hotel is located on a very narrow piece of property with few parking spots, many of which appear to be shared with a convenience store and gas station just steps from the hotel entrance. Finally the hotel is bordered by HWY 30 and a very busy road where traffic noise was loud and frequent throughout the night. Finally the staff seemed very unmotivated and lacked any real customer service experience, the front desk seemed sullen and disinterested. Overall it was a pretty disappointing experience and we would not chose to stay here again.

Took 25 minutes to check-in even though no one else was checking in or out while we were there. According to the front desk person, they weren't sure if the room we were being given was clean or not even though it was almost an hour after check-in time. What would have happened if we had gotten there right at check-in time? Would we have had to wait an hour and a half for them to clean it? Once we finally got checked in, the room was ok, although the layout was a little weird. There were also a few bugs in the room. We found a massive roach in the morning, but he was dying. The bathroom in our room was a handicap bathroom which is OK, even though we did not request it, but the way the shower was setup it got the entire floor of the bathroom wet. The showerhead was pointed directly at the shower curtain with no way to point it any way other than that. There was no tub or edge to stop the water, so the water just went everywhere. The breakfast was OK, but nothing special. The door at the end of the hallway near our room did not lock at night so that was a bit concerning since the hotel was right next to a convenience store and had lots of random people walking through the parking lot. Pretty sketchy. Overall, not a great experience for what we paid, but I guess I should expect that in Dallas.

Everything was good until I walked out to put my things in the car and I caught some men breaking in my car. They ran away as I was approaching my car... Not a good area!

I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was Eco friendly with refillable shampoo and conditioner. The room was very nice! Clean and in great condition. However, I was disappointed because after making sure I got a late check out I was still called and expected to leave at the regular check out time. It was nice to have a gym to work out in but disappointing that the water cooler was broken and there was not another place to fill a water bottle up with filtered water.

Near the interstate very noisy. There were several big rig cabs taking up 2-3 parking spaces each making it diff to oark late at night

Didnt like location being so close to the highway!! The air conditioner took a long time to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. There needed to be a skimmer to skim debris from the pool! We liked that the room was very large and spacious and that there was a sofa sleeper! The refrigerator and microwave worked very well.

We spent 124 dollars for there to be a funky smell in the room a huge clearly visible wad of hair in the bathroom and a roach in the tub.

Bathrooms need deep cleaning old soap forms on dish bowl and mildew in the tiles on the floor. Some room need to be updated and reclean.

My room had black mold in the closet, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned twice. There were cockroaches in my room, the front desk was alerted. There were huge cockroaches in the lobby, I refused to eat there and had to go to my own expense to get breakfast. Pierre, the night clerk was awesome and wrote down my complaints and was very pleasant. Otherwise I was put on hold for 15 minutes - just trying to get someone to clean. I was there for 8 days, worst experience ever. Room 314

Room was decent clean, but they definatelly need more maintenence. But hallway through out the building, very dirty.

Mold in bathrooms and showers, overwhelming mildew smell in rooms. Very disappointed.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this hotel left me with too many issues to stay silent. I had to switch rooms twice—first because the air conditioner barely worked (a nightmare in summer), then again because ants were crawling inside the closet and bit me when I reached for my sandals. Honestly, I wish I were making that part up. Breakfast was forgettable—bland, cold, and just plain sad. The rooms didn’t feel clean and had a strong musty, moldy smell that made it hard to relax. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the front desk staff were incredibly kind and did their best to help. They were the one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. I hope the management steps up and improves things, because the people working here deserve better—and so do the guests.

When I first got to the hotel, the room they gave me, room 203, was filthy. So they gave me another room, room 207, which had been cleaned, although it smelled bad. Anyway after starting to unpack in the room I noticed the room was infested with cockroaches! I have several pictures of cockroaches in the room!

Breakfast was included, but was very basic. Eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, muffins. Beds were comfortable, but the rooms were noisy both from outside and inside.

The rooms are very nice and spacious. First floor room facing the freeway had traffic noise which could be overcome by keeping the fan on.

There was no WiFi or cable

Overall stay was decent. Breakfast was good, beds SUPER comfy. Problems: Wi-Fi would let you login and use for 2ish mins and kick you back out for both my wife and I. So entire stay did not get to use it at all. TV had a then black line down the middle of it , still very watchable. Small roach found dead. Front desk said there was nothing they could do for the Wi-Fi issue. So not a lot of help there, but front desk service are very nice.

The hotel was in the parking lot of 2 fast food businesses. very close to the freeway. The AC unit in my room was very loud. I think the fan was going out. At 0300 my phone started ringing every 19 minutes. When I answered it no one was on the phone.

I stopped for one night. WiFi is not provided, but app said they are have. Not enough light in rooms. Cellphone it doesn’t work in the room. Mobile network doesn’t work inside. Sorry, but I can’t give you 5 stars

The staff was great. Friendly, prompt and accommodating. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious.

Our TV in the room did not work . After multiple time speaking g with the staff , they sent a gentlemen who actually got it on , but it didn’t have access to the internet and he changed the HDMI cable from one port to another , then it was stuck on one channel . I then wen to the from again and thought maybe the remote didn’t work . That gentlemen took one from another room and that one didn’t work . So we had no TV service the entire time we were there . I went to the front desk a total of 6 times .

Waited at the lobby desk for 10 mins before someone finally came to help. The room was filthy. Entire hotel smelled bad.

Front desk Was always a challenge to get someone to show up. They charged us an early check in fee because we were 5 hours before 3pm. However the rooms were ready for us so there was no additional service involved. If we would have arrived 5 hrs later than 3pm there would have been no refund. Not a fan.

The staff is friendly - convenient to Interstate going east and west - Parking is easy and the room was spacious and clean. No issues with anything. Only problem we had was they ran out of breakfast on the third day we were there due to a late delivery. They were very apologetic.

The customer service was not good. The front desk person had an attitude when we were checking in and even took a while to get to the front desk. Wasn't horrible but I think the customer service needs to improved

The location is really great, minutes from globe life park. The only issues were the housekeeping were yelling when we checked in complaining about having to do too much. Made us feel uncomfortable. Also there were several people sitting in the parking lot in their vehicles that made us feel unsafe to leave our cars parked there.

Everything worked and was clean. Directly off I-30. Unless you enjoy views of the freeway, this spot doesn't offer much in the way of scenery. Free parking, lots of fast food options within walking distance and a decent hot breakfast all sweeten the pot. Reggie cable is it for yer viewing pleasure.

My stay here was as pleasant as the 1st two times, a few years ago! Location is EVERYTHING!!! I was a 5 minute drive from downtown Dallas, about 7 minutes from Lone Star Park or The Wax Museum (Grand Prairie) and about 10 minutes from Six Flags, AT&T Stadium/Rangers Ballpark Stadium (Arlington)! The hotel was quite, clean, and the lady at the front desk was friendly. The room was nice and spacious, with crisp white linens and fluffy white tiles. Not sure about breakfast, because my mouth was set for IHOP, which was across the street. Walmart, Chic-fil-a, Chili’s, and two gas stations are also in walking distance. Great place for family, couples, or solo getaways! I’m definitely going to book again.

The stay was great although there needs to be blankets offered or available for pullout bed. Also, if breakfast lasted until 10 a.m. it would be more reasonable.

Nice property and staff with super comfy beds, though it's a little odd to get to since you need to cut through a gas station parking lot. The breakfast was adequate and tasted good (scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes) but was surprised that there weren't any breads, muffins, bagels or fruit juices. I'd stay here again though.

The stay was fairly cheap. The breakfast was okay but they kept running out of food. If you need new towels they will not bring it to your room. You have to bring the used towels to the desk in order to get more. Big inconvenience if you are traveling with small children. Front desk clerk doesn’t not care and will not send towels.

First room they gave s was FREEZING!! The staff couldn’t help us with the thermostat. They gave us another room, but the remote wouldn’t work. The front desk person really did try her best. Breakfast was good but not as good as the Comfort Suites we had just stayed in the night before. Come on…..you can’t have actual butter? They just seemed to be skimping….
