Helpful staff, good breakfast, fresh coffee or chocolate with breakfast, clean rooms and facilities, convenient to everything, close to train station, enjoyed dinner. Difficulty in walking up to 4th floor location of bedroom. Had to go to 3rd floor to shower. Will be happy to return but make sure to stay on 3rd floor.

Switzerland is an expensive destination, no doubt. But, this is not a $160/night hotel. With shared bath and no lift, a more respectful rate might be $100 (85-90 CHF). A good place for a quick, passing-through single night (an excellent breakfast, convenient to the rail station, spectacularly charming altstadt neighborhood), but not a hotel to spend more than a night.

It's a very old building in Old Town, not far from the train station. Everyone there was very kind but when we checked in but only the top floor room was available (5 stories and no elevator). The stairway was dark and although I'm in pretty good shape it was a real struggle to get our two suitcases up there. My 80 year old mother had a real hard time but she made it! The shared bathroom was clean and right down the hall, but upon check-in I was told that our shower was 4 floors down .....why?? Even though we were hot, sweaty and exhausted we skipped the showers and tried to sleep. There was one window (with no screen) in the room but no cross breeze unless we left the front door open which we didn't feel safe doing after dark. The room was clean but hot, humid and stuffy and live music was playing in the courtyard until at least midnight even with earplugs in it was pretty loud. Luckily we only stayed one night between trains, I knew it wasn't a posh place but it was a bit more rustic and challenging than I bargained for. Everyone working there was very nice and kind it's just a very old cramped building.

Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in der Altstadt von Chur (Fussgängerzone). Der Bahnhof SBB liegt nur wenige Minuten zu Fuss entfernt. Ich war im Monat April (wochentags) vor Ort. Es war dementsprechend sehr ruhig. Logierte in einem Einzelzimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad im 3. Stock (Treppe). Das Zimmer war sehr einfach eingerichtet. Ein Lavabo war ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Zimmer wie auch die Gemeinschaftsräume waren sehr sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet war klein aber fein. Es hatte so ziemlich alles was ich begehrte (Brote, Müsli, Fruchtsäfte, Aufschnitt, Käse usw.) - toll! Der Frühstücksraum / Gaststube ist ebenfalls ein Bijou. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Habe mich vor Ort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Very close to train station and the centre. Very clean ,well set up place . Enjoyed the free breakfast too. Even though it was my first time using shared bathroom facilities, it was so clean and like a private bathroom.Olga , hard working lady,was so helpful. She needs a pay rise!

Very friendly staff. Not too far from train station. A little dated but immaculate. We had twin beds, comfortable. Nice breakfast. No air conditioning, had to open window which would have been fine but window right above restaurant with people smoking and talking until 11:00 at night. Loud and stinky. Otherwise would have been great.

Una excelente ubicación en el casco antiguo de Chur. Aunque solo estuvimos de paso por una noche, nos pareció un establecimiento familiar y acogedor y así nos sentimos. La habitación era correcta, y aunque todo estaba limpio, a los edredones que usamos porque la noche era fresca les hacía falta un repaso en la tintorería. Por lo demás, atendieron todas nuestras necesidades y nos sentimos como en casa. Volveríamos sin ninguna duda.

The property was keep very clean at all times during my stay. The staff were very professional, friendly, polite and helpful. They go above and beyond to help with what I needed. The ladies at the reception welcomed me warmly, help me get situated and provided me with an adapter for my computer since I had the USA adapter. Breakfast was the highlight, food served was excellent. Clean and well arranged buffet. Bathrooms were regularly cleaned. The property smelled clean. I felt very safe and welcomed throughout my six day stay. A big thanks to all the ladies that made my stay pleasant especially Anna and the rest...DANKE! I will return!

There is no air conditioning in this hotel even though the description says that it does. We had to sleep with the windows open. There was no fan available. The area below is very loud. We heard the bars below our room until midnight. Then all night there were street cleaners…etc. Got very little sleep. I do not recommend this hotel if there is any chance at all of having hot weather.

Loved our stay here - we only had one Sunday night here, but Hotel Franziskaner was very welcoming. Our room was light, overlooked the main street, had plenty of space & a comfy bed. We ate in the restaurant - delicious food and great friendly service. Would love to stay here again.

Single room was not comfortable: the room was very cold at night and I couldn’t sleep at all as the bed was very stiff and uncomfortable, plus alot of noise from the street and at 7 am staff start cleaning and screaming in the corridors which are not sound proof at all.

We had a large room with a private bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was great. Only one complaint - we tried to eat in the restaurant and the waiter with the beard completely ignored us. We eventually had to ask his female colleague to get his attention, and when he did deign to serve us, he was clearly unhappy about it. He continued to ignore us and eventually we had to go inside to pay the bill as he ignored us when we asked for it. He was happy and joking with other customers and we have to wonder if he had a problem with my wife being the only Indian person there.

Zimmer, Lage und Frühstück waren okay. Nur die Kommunikation im Vorfeld wurde vom Hotel ignoriert. Ich reiste kurz nach 18.00 Uhr an und wollte wissen wie der CheckInn ist. Erst auf die 5. Mail wurde reagiert (kurz vor der Ankunft). Der CheckInn ist bis 22.00 Uhr möglich das ein Restaurant zum Hotel gehört.

We stayed in this lovely hotel the night before our trip on the Bernina express. The hotel is in the old town of chur which is really nice with lots of historic buildings, it was about 15 mins walk to the station so perfectly placed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was from 7 the next morning but we went in just before and there were already people in there. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast which had plenty of choice to suit everyone. The room was warm and the bed comfortable our bathroom was huge and the shower was very good. This hotel is a small hotel and has lots of character I would definitely recommend it for couples.

I loved the included breakfast! In a country like Switzerland, everything is expensive, so getting a lovely breakfast included was amazing. The location was perfect- 10 min walk from the train station and in old town. The restaurant was great too- lots of traditional dishes, and great fondue! A benefit of being in the walkable downtown, less road noises and really close to hiking trails.

Frühstücksbuffet hat für vegane Menschen kaum etwas zu bieten: Brot mit Marmelade, Apfel und Kaffee mit Oatly. Der Rest des Buffets: Tierisches. Selbst das Müsli ist nicht vegan (KnusperMüsli) und keine Margarine. Leider lässt sich das Frühstück nicht abbestellen / vom Preis exkludieren. Der Kaffee war jedoch gut! Räumlichkeiten waren sauber und Mitarbeiterinnen freundlich :)

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is in a lovely location. The breakfast was excellent but is a standard continental breakfast with cereal, croissants, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, yoghurt and nice espresso. Dinner was excellent with friendly service and regional food. The dessert was a wonderful tiramisu (not regional but the staff were italian). The hotel is as advertised. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The toilet was immediately outside our room as stated in our booking but was still convenient. The stairs are quite steep. It was quiet except for faint ringing of church bells in the evening. We would stay again. Thank you.
