Le Grand Balcon Hotel

Really nice room and bathroom. Coffee maker was much appreciated. It will be nicer when renovated lounges are ready. Didn’t like the dark corridors. Location was really good. Easy to get to from train station.

The Hotel was in an excellent location, but the reception area was under construction and very unprofessional in appearance. There was no lounge area and the breakfast area was closed, also under construction. We had to have breakfast in a nearby cafe, and the breakfast charge on my bill was extremely overpriced based on what we were served in the cafe. I could have gotten the same breakfast at another cafe for less than half of what the Hotel charged me. The room was updated, small, but relatively comfortable. But there were NO towel racks in the bathroom and no shelves for toiletries, neither inside or outside the shower stall. The best thing about our stay was the discounted parking in the public parking lot across the square. Very disappointed overall!

L’hôtel est superbe, très bien placé à quelques mètres du Capitole. Les chambres très confortables et la déco lumineuse Le hall bar est très convivial et toute l’équipe a été extra Je recommande fortement !

Carpets dirty, room wouldn’t get warm enough and air con is non changeable so won’t go above 24 degrees or below 19 degrees . Staff are inexperienced and rude. Very dark stairwells which are painted black with barely any light, dangerous at best.

It would’ve been helpful for the hotel to let us know the streets around around the Capital were secured off as access to the hotel was tricky .

The hotel is currently under renovations. There is no bar and there is no breakfast area. They put me on the second floor, which is being renovated Lots of noise and dirty They offered me a breakfast at a near location, and wouldn’t even give me a free breakfast for my inconvenience They provided me with a small upgrade to a room, that looks like it has not been cleaned. The garbage was full. And rappers were found in the corners Given the cost of the hotel, I expected more

Tiny room, hardly enough space for a suitcase. Small window looking onto the wall of the building next door. Toilet flush not working. Very poor sound insulation. Undergoing renovation…..no reception or lounge/ bar facilities it would appear. Still advertised as 4 star….don’t think so…..and 4 star price! Very poor value for money.

Staff are great nice and friendly. Room is modern and clean. Hallways need cleaning carpet replaced and painted!!! Hallways are painted black. Walls ceiling and baseboards everything black!!!

The parking for the hotel was a nightmare on a Saturday. They have no on sight parking so you have to go to a public parking of 467 spots nearby. Unfortunately, on a Saturday not one spot was available and we had to go to another location 1.5 km away to find parking. The staff seemed uninterested when we checked in. Later when we went to the bar, no one was there to serve and I actually had to go find someone. All in all, not a great experience and we have stayed at dozens of hotels in France. A disappointment indeed.

A very nice hotel with accommodating staff right in the heart of Toulouse. The rooms are nice but small. But who wants to stay in when there’s a lot to do. Getting to the parking garage is a challenge since you have to share the narrow streets with tons of bicycles and pedestrians. And even with their map, it wasn’t evident. Yesterday there was also a major sporting event being screened on the square. Fortunately we arrived before its closure. It would have been helpful if we had been forewarned. But this was an exceptional event and all turned out well. A big shout out to the very nice and helpful young staff!

night porter clueless and did not give us the code for parking, room dirty, broken coffee machine on an askew board so it kept shifting, carpet and wall next to coffee machine full of stains, bathroom falling apart, coffee capsules were not refilled every day, hotel needs good head housekeeper and refurbishment, otherwise great location if you don't have a car

Personnel très accueillant et gentil. Pas la qualité d'un 5 étoiles (traces sur les murs, gel douche vide, pas de serviettes, chauffage bloqué à 26°) Devrait être rénové.

Hôtel très calme près de la place du Capitole, personnel très avenant. Très belle chambre. Salle de bains assez petite. Dommage pour un 5 étoiles, nous avons trouvé que le ménage laissait à désirer dans la salle de bains. Nous n'avons pas pris le petit-déjeuner sur place.

Room cleaning should be improved. They left cleaning rag in the bathroom, there were socks from previous customers on the floor. Cups were dirty. Floor in the cafe on the first floor was dirty and sticky.

Really disappointing hotel. I had one of the most expensive rooms on the property, with the best view, but it was terrible. Stains all over the carpeted bedroom, stains on the sofa, torn bed linens and towels, a half-used bottle of conditioner in the bathroom, etc... On several occasions, I walked directly into the hotel elevator without seeing a single hotel employee. This does not feel secure at all. This hotel does not deserve its star-ranking, and should be avoided.

Experiencia nefasta, habitación mal limpiada con manchas en el suelo y pelos en el baño. Ni por asomo es un hotel de 5 estrellas. Lo peor de todo fue la cama, creemos que había bichos en la cama ya que nos despertamos con picores en el cuerpo y picadas de algún bicho. No recomiendo la estancia a nadie.

The location is great - walking distance to many points of interest, dining options and shopping. The room was quiet although it was pretty dark due to the proximity to the building across the street and being on the 1st floor. The hotel needs a refresh - carpet is tired and stained (in the room and corridors, doors look dirty because the white is more off-white, curtains are dusty. Room s very small although I did book above average.

Avoid at all costs. We had booked 2 rooms at this hotel. Both rooms had coffee and other brown stains all down the walls and on the old carpet. Both rooms had live ticks running around the bed, carpet and drapes as if they owned the place. The bedding was also stained and looked lived in. I purposely went for what I thought would be a higher end hotel stay because I wanted to treat myself for the night, but what I ended up with felt more closer to a night of camping. Consider yourself WARNED.

L'hôtel est très bien situé. La chambre est spacieuse et même si elle donne sur la rue c'est très bien insonorisé.

La chambre est bien rénové mais un peu petite . Par contre il faut éviter la chambre 118 juste au dessus du hall d’entrée car la porte qui claque dans l’entrée s’entends de la chambre .

Hotel well situated. Room clean and tidy but bathroom basin very small and plug wouldn’t fit: shower door didn’t fit either and so flooded bathroom floor. The 2 long fancy light fittings situated near bed were badly placed and kept hitting head on them.

Fantastic location, everything in walking distance. Room was as described and the windows kept out the noise from the street perfectly. Air conditioning only thing that wasn’t great.

The staff were very nice but the room just wasn't clean. There were stains on carpet snd bathroom facilities were not sufficient. The suite was not cooling properly and we sweated through the night. Thought about moving to another hotel, but did not find many hotels in Toulouse that were high end. Ended up staying two painful nights even though the staff was friendly and did not charge us for the breakfast which was very good.

We have a nice view of the capitol. Modern bathroom and spacious room

Chambre de saint exupery véritable musée vivant la chambre que nous avions choisi avait un défaut sur le chauffage du coup on a récupéré une autre suite mais la patronne a été compréhensive 30% de réductions sur la chambre petit déjeuner offert et parking offert magnifique quelle service exceptionnel nous reviendrons

I loved this hotel! The location mere steps from Place du Capitole is very convenient to everything there is to see and do in Toulouse and beyond. And the Capitole Metro stop is only a 3 minute walk, so it's easy to get to the train, tram and bus stations at Toulouse Matabiau. My room was quiet and well-appointed, though perhaps a bit small for 2 people. I didn’t eat breakfast there so can't comment on that. Finally, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. And Alex went above and beyond to help me with some train and tram schedules for a couple of day trips I was interested in. Highly recommended this property, and would definitely stay here again if I come back to Toulouse.

I had an unpleasant experience during check-in at the hotel. The staff was terribly rude and insisted we had no booking, only to discover later that the person assisting us was not properly trained and had been looking at the wrong screen.

Quick check in / able to leave bags whilst exploring before check in. They managed to arrange an early check in as well thank you

Recently renovated in a style that’s both chic snd comfortable. A big disappointment though with the the very un-chic way I was treated at check-in. I arrived at around noon, three hours ahead of the official check-in time at 3pm. I travel a lot and when this happens I’m very consistent told that either there is a room available and it will be given to me now, no problem, or, very sorry, there isn’t a room available now but we’ll do what we can to make one available ahead of the official hour. Instead the young woman told me, with a reprimanding Scholl teacher tone in her voice that check in time was three and I could leave my bag ahead if I desired. No rooms would be available ahead of the official time. The message was bad but her tone and attitude was hat was most disturbing - it was the time one might expect (but not always receive) from a government worker at the post. My needs were of zero interest to her and I was simply to get in line with the other cattle to be similarly treated. Not chic at all and not even the empathy I find check in agents generally provide in the most standard hotels. When I questioned the lady who greeted me in her approach, she reluctantly took my phone number snd promised to call hen my room was ready - but I received no call whatsoever. Really tainted my whole experience. You can make a chic environment but if you treat customers like rubbish you are not providing an acceptable experience, much less a luxury one

A excellent hotel, clean and comfortable rooms and in a perfect location for enjoying Toulouse. Staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast had a great selection

The location for this hotel is absolutely perfect and the room was a nice size and quiet. The two issues I had was that 1) it was obvious that a prior guest had spilled coffee all of the wall and rug and the two nights I was there it was not cleaned; it was quite disgusting. 2) morning breakfast was chaos. They ran out of pretty much everything and when you asked for bread or coffee cups or plates they started washing the dirty dishes in front of them and took forever to replenish items. Very disorganized. The best staff was Ryan at the bar. He was friendly, kind and very engaging and made the stay much more personal. The others either did not understand any English or when I spoke the bit of French I knew you could tell none of them cared.
